What is the general consensus here?
Are we on for May or will things still be shut down?

I can’t imagine the shutdown extending that long but i never thought they’d shut down at all. I’m staying as positive as possible. Bring on the machines

Our prime-minister said today, he's hoping that with the social-distancing and measures put into place, we can get over the hump in 12 weeks.

Not sure exactly what that entails, but I'd imagine he means to have a large number tested, and the daily number of cases/deaths to have slowed right down. Which I would guess means we have managed to flatten the curve, as would be the aim.

Think we're about 2 weeks behind Italy, which is about what you guys are that side of the pond, and would hope 12 weeks is trying to give themselves a long window.

I am booked for mid may. I have no hope at all about going anymore. We will be lucky in Europe if we can begin normal life by the summer (july)
In the USA you are where we were 3 weeks ago, just before the big spread caused by the skiing holidays. This is what’s due now in the states caused by spring break. These kids will probably spread it around the country.
I don’t want to cause any panic but the situation in Italy and Spain is totally getting out of control. Don’t make the same mistakes that happened over here And underestimate this virus, it is very contagious. It is indeed not more the a flu for the majority of people but it’s really dangerous for those who already have respiratory or other health problems.
Just look at the numbers now : from 1 to 100000 infected people in 3 months, from 100000 to 200000 infected people in 12 days and now from 200000 to 300000 in 4 days. And we are nowhere near the peak over here yet.

We have been planning May 28-31 at Flamingo with 9 people. I’m the coordinator. Our flights on Southwest (from Chicago) went from $317 round trip to $74 round trip within a week. I booked all with points so adjusted them and used the saved points to book backup dates of June 25-28. Also noteworthy with the Southwest travel policy right now. You can book your flight at the lowest rate at the latest date in May and can change it to any date or time for up to 2 months for free. So even though their rates are showing pretty normal in June and July you can still get the low May rates on those dates.

If they let me fly and re-open Vegas, I'll be there April 30th to May 5th. It will be an unplanned solo trip since my fiancé is no longer around anymore :( would love to meet some of you!
