    My Trip Report

Hubby and I got back 2 1/2 weeks ago from our anniversary trip so I can’t say that this was a planned trip. Last month we had a 3 Bay Suite on the top floor of Planet Hollywood, it was awesome! It’s so nice to have an ice maker in the bar area, we were kind of spoiled. I posted pictures of it on a thread called 3 Bay Suite, or something like that.

Tomorrow’s trip was planned Tuesday. Monday a guy from work said he and his wife and daughter were going to Vegas Saturday through Tuesday to look at a horse and I joked and said take me with you. He said I should go, I could show them around one day and the other they could go check this horse out. I got home and pulled up SWA and it was going to be $900 so I said pass. Tuesday morning I get to work and said I wasn’t going because airfare was crazy. He said they paid $800 for all 3 of them total for Saturday through Tuesday on Frontier. Frontier flies out of the south terminal here so I really don’t ever think about them since I have points with SWA and since I have read some not so favorable things.....but....round trip with a carry on was $300....hmmm, could I.......should I? I called the hubby and asked his thoughts and he said go, so I called our host and asked if I could still get into the CET global presidents retirement bash. She said yes, where do you want to stay? Bally’s, no reason to waste a comp on a fancier room with me going solo. Who knows......I could win one of the $450,000 in prizes they’re giving away at the party. So I’m going tomorrow night and coming home Monday afternoon. Sunday I’ll play tour guide. Tomorrow night after I arrive my niece’s hubby will meet me at the Lobby Bar, he’s in town for the construction show and is leaving Monday afternoon.

So, it’s wheels up in less than 24 hours!

    Happy birthday to me!

My carry on is packed and I’m ready to go. Another coworker is on the fence.,,,.she can still get a cheap fare on my same flight but she’ll have to come home Sunday afternoon because SOMEONE has to be in the office Monday morning. I told her I had a 2Q room and she’s welcome to stay with me so I’m wondering if I’ll have a surprise when I get to the airport. She’s one of the girls that was with me in January on my “work trip”.

I’m looking forward to a pre flight cocktail and to see what options are at the south terminal. I love Vino Volo in the main terminal but the south terminal is supposed to have a different vibe, an outside area and food trucks. You also board old school style.

They are! And I’m not really known for my spontaneity.

    Will do.

I got a call from my host 2 hours ago saying the dinner was canceled but they are doing a virtual drawing and giving everyone a $200 resort credit. I have to run to Caesar’s and see if I won anything. She made me a reservation at Old Homestead for dinner so I can use my credit.

The crowds here are similar to when I was here 3 weeks ago. Bally’s and Paris were busy last night. PHo was busy today.

I was wondering about the dinner. Just having that many people all together in one area seemed odd to be keeping. At least when you are playing or visiting a casino you can control who you are next to, where you are sitting etc.

Hopefully you will still be picked in the virtual drawing!!!

Well the virtual drawing was a bust. And it was kind of a cluster. I was told to go to where I registered between 5 and 6 to see if I won anything. I go at 5:15 and they tell me go to the players club at 6. At 6 the players club tells me they don’t have the results but they will call the winners. In the meantime my host texted me and said. I winning for me.

I went to Old Homestead and waited for what seemed like an eternity for my dinner, only to be served a well done steak and 45 minutes after I sat down......but I ordered my steak medium. Back to the kitchen. My server, Rebecca, was incredible. So apologetic and attentive. My next steak was perfect, and comped. My glass of wine, salad and side were the only thing on my bill. I tipped her as if they had charged me for the steak, plus a bit more and wrote a thank you on my ticket. Last month when hubby and I ate there for our anniversary my steak was medium rare. I can eat it that way, but we’ll done, no way.

I played in the HL at Caesar’s before dinner and watched a guy in $45,000 on a $25 slot machine. I seemed to piddle my $$ away all afternoon. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day. Caesar’s was packed, the HL was really packed, people getting hand pays all over.

I did hear that tonight was the last night that the buffet at Paris will be open. Seriously, walking through theses casinos, the people I’ve seen don’t seem to be concerned. Bally’s was busy, as was Paris. We’ll see what tomorrow brings. My friends made it in around 11. I said hello and came up to the room. Tomorrow I get to play tour guide, showing them the sites and taking them up on the High Roller. I’ll gamble some, my coworker wants me to show him some of the table games I play. I told him I still have resort credit to use up so tomorrow one meal is on me.

I’m not gonna lie, the vibe today is a little weird. I was talking to a bartender at the Lobby Bar and he said Old Homestead is now closed as is BLT. I just came through Paris and there wasn’t a soul at the coffee shop, but it was open. There were a handful of people at the buffet but my understanding is that it will probably close today. Burger Brasserie and Nosh we’re open.

This morning I took my friends that came to look at the horse, to breakfast at Cafe Hollywood. At 9:30 it was only 1/3 full. I played tour guide and walked them through Aria, Cosmo and Bellagio and I can honestly say that’s the fewest amount of people I’ve ever seen at Bellagio. It has kind of put me in a mood and I’m not sure what I want to do with my time left. I asked for a late checkout, they said 2 tomorrow which is perfect. My friends just went to see the horse in Henderson so it will be hours before they return. I may go down and play a little and see how it goes, the gambling has been awful so far.

I decided not to let things get to me and salvage my last day. I went to print my boarding pass then went to the Laurel Lounge at Paris when it opened. I ended up sitting next to a guy I have seen many times playing in the HL at Bally’s that I know by name. I hadn’t seen him since GGWU in December. There was no line to get in, very unusual for a 4:30 on a Sunday. From there I went back to the Lobby Bar at Bally’s until James’s shift ended, then I decided to pack. After packing I piddled at some penny slots, then back to the Lobby Bar for another Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc just in time for my coworker and his family to return. The girls went to bed and he followed me to the pit by the old indigo lounge so I could play high card flush. I bought in for a hundred and a few hands in I’m dealt a 6 card flush with a 4 card straight flush! I was paid over $800! I ended up playing for over 2 hours. My friend left and I bought in for $100 at roulette and I played with an adorable group of 21-23 year old girls from Maryland. I was probably there for an hour. After that is cashed my chips and found my pit boss friend to talk to him for awhile. He said that they were beginning to turn off every other machine and tomorrow they would only let 3 people play at each table game. So far they haven’t announced casino closures like Wynn and MGM.

It’s been an interesting trip. I’m hoping this insanity ends soon. Vegas has been through enough. #vegasstrong.

I head home early tomorrow afternoon. I’ll report how the airport is once I get home.

I’m headed to the airport in about an hour. As of this morning, the buffet at Paris had a sign up saying temporarily closed, as did Cafe Belle and Martorano’s. Cafe St. Louis was open so we had breakfast there. Every other slot machine was deactivated and only 3 people could play at any of the table games. The one thing that was business as usual were the time share people. OMG they were actually more aggressive than normal! I asked one at Planet Hollywood yesterday just exactly what show she was going to be able to give us and she walked away. Crazy. I hope that all this blows over soon.

My Frontier flight was over half full. The airport wasn’t too bad, not a crazy madhouse and around 1:00 there weren’t many stores that were closed. Uneventful flight home.

I had a call from my pitboss friend saying that Caesar’s was closing at 6 tonight. So sad. Foe everyone’s sake, I hope this gets sorted out soon.
