Have you tried the Original Pancake House? I recommend the Dutch Baby. Unfortunately not open 24 hours, just breakfast and lunch.

This should settle any argument about whether the esteemed hot dog is a sandwich.

Wednesday, Mrs P wanted to see the Bellagio conservatory so we went through Park MGM and got on the monorail. The display was impressive as usual. I know there's a zillion pictures of it already, but here's a few more anyway :D

    MVIMG_20200304_104653_copy_2016x2688.jpg

We crossed over to the miracle mile shops and had a walk around there to see what was new and stopped for a coffee at Coffee Bean. The cashier there was so patient with me paying as I tried to get rid of some of my shrapnel. Funny that even after all the amount of times I have been to the US I still take ages to get used to what coin is what!

After that we went over to Yard House for lunch. This was great last time we were here so I was looking forward to it. Beer was good, had the Big Sky Moose Drool

So I have a question for you all. How much garlic would you expect on an 8" Margherita pizza? I'd say none, really… maybe a lick of garlic oil if you're feeling frisky.

I got this much o_O :haha:

    MVIMG_20200304_131106~2.jpg

It tasted ok sans garlic so no complaints otherwise. Mrs P had the beef dip sandwich which was good.

Upon further investigation, I may have discovered the reason for all the garlic :haha:

    MVIMG_20200304_131900_copy_2016x1512.jpg

After that we came back to NYNY, played a few slots. No big wins to speak of, but no major losses either.

In the evening we crossed over and got the tram down to Mandalay Bay and had a look around there. Walked back through Luxor…

    MVIMG_20200304_170750_copy_2016x2688.jpg

It's such an impressive space, it never fails to amaze me! Then it was back through Excalibur, played a few slots on the way but no wins.

For dinner we just went to Shake Shack. When I'm in NYC I always visit Grand Central partly because it's an amazing building, but also I get a milkshake from Shake Shack there! But, I've never actually had the burger until now. It was pretty good, bit on the greasy side, but not bad. Not as good as in n out though in my humble opinion:feedme:

Thursday, it was breakfast buffet time at Aria, courtesy of MyVegas. There was no line to get in, which surprised us (we arrived about half ten)

I did not know breakfast pizza was actually a real thing! I love coming to America! :feedme:

    MVIMG_20200305_102050_copy_2016x1963.jpg

Also, apparently you're not allowed the whole bowl of bacon, you just have to take a few at a time :haha:
    MVIMG_20200305_101954_copy_2016x1512.jpg

So we waddled out of there and had a look around Aria. Lost 20 bucks on the slots. Saw this guy

    MVIMG_20200305_113632_copy_2016x2688.jpg

Didn't do much else that day really, just had a Tenaya Creek brown ale while doing some people watching in NYNY.

    MVIMG_20200305_164810_copy_2016x2688.jpg

We were chuffed to find out that Ashley, our favourite bartender from last time (2 years ago!) still works at the Broadway bar, and she not only remembered us, but remembered what we were drinking! We were bowled over, she's absolutely great!

For dinner we fancied Chinese so ended up at Chin Chin. Turns out if you hesitate about whether to go in or not, the front of house hostess gives you a voucher for free dim sum (which was very nice and a great appetizer.)

Beer, you say? Well when in Rome, or in this case Beijing a couple of bottles of Tsing Tao complemented the meal nicely.

    MVIMG_20200305_183611_copy_2016x2688.jpg

I had the Moo Goo Gai Pan, Mrs P had the Honey Firecracker Shrimp. Both were very good.

    MVIMG_20200305_183706_copy_2016x2688.jpg
After the meal, it was time to do the Vegas thing and get an oversized drink. Bartender wasn't shy with the rum either:beer:

    MVIMG_20200305_193422_copy_2016x1512.jpg

No big wins to speak of, but we had a wander around outside while attempting to digest all that sugar :goofy:

Love Belching Beaver PB milk stout! One of the best beers you can get comped at The Book in the Linq now. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip!

Soooo.... I'm sorry guys, I got distracted by Vegas and fell behind in my duties! :goofy:

However, I'm now stuck at home so will continue where I left off if that's OK

Will do one day at a time as I write it. Can't believe we have been back a week already!

    Anyway, without further ado...

    Friday 6th March

It was time to head out and visit our favourite coffee shop, Tiabi Coffee and Waffles which is over on Maryland Parkway. I had my usual Maple Bacon waffle (the bacon is cooked inside the waffle!) and Mrs P had the Waffle-dilla, which is a chicken, cheese and avocado waffle sandwich. The coffee in here is excellent as well, I would highly recommend a visit if you’re over that way.

Next it was time to get rid of all that excess change so we went to the Pinball Hall of Fame. Love this place, it’s a great break from the hustle and bustle. Glad to see they still had my favourite South Park machine!

    MVIMG_20200306_123729.jpg

Best value snack in Las Vegas :haha:

    MVIMG_20200306_123418.jpg

After that we headed back NYNY and get a few things from the ABC Store opposite. We thought we deserved a pastry so Mrs P went off in search of some nourishment. She came back with a Hello Kitty cupcake for me…. o_O

    MVIMG_20200306_140535.jpg

Oh my God, it was so rich… very chocolatey, but so rich! I didn’t even manage half of it :faint:

It was a good job too, because as you might know (and you’ve been paying attention to my previous trip report :feedme: ) Friday night is curry night! And we’ve tried a few places around Vegas but none have come close to India Masala in the Fashion Show Mall food court. So we got in the car and drove up there.

    MVIMG_20200306_174818.jpg

Yeah I know it doesn’t look like much, but it’s the best flavour curry I’ve had in Vegas. They also have a restaurant over on East Flamingo, we have tried it but (at least that night) it wasn’t as good for some reason.

After that it was back to NYNY for some beer, people watching and slots. Nothing too exciting but got a nice win on the Quick Hits

    Saturday 7th March

Saturday we went up north. Jerry’s Nugget casino has been on our list for a while and as folks here have recommended the coffee shop we went up there for brunch. We took the slow route up the Strip to see what was new. They are really getting on with Resorts World!

Anyway, we arrived at Jerry’s Nugget… Yup that’s a local casino for local people :haha: We kind of felt a bit out of place! The food however, was great! In fact it was so good I forgot to take any photos :haha: I played it safe with sausage eggs and pancakes, Mrs P had the Monte Cristo, ham and cheese on Texas Toast. The food was great! The coffee, however :yuck:

Next on our list as we were up that end of town was the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. This was quite an interesting place, I think some of the reviews are fair when they say it’s mostly aimed at children - there’s lots to look at but not so much information and explanation. The dinosaur room was pretty cool, together with the Egypt section and there was a small aquarium with some very curious chaps

    MVIMG_20200307_131137.jpg

I’d love to tell you what happened Saturday afternoon but… I’ve forgotten Must have been enthralling :haha:

That evening we went over to Excalibur as they have a new (to us) bar/restaurant called Vagabond. The tagline according to the blurb is ‘Pretension takes a night off’ and that sounds exactly like our kind of place

We ordered a mixture of sides and snacks - fries, wings, and a ‘giant pretzel’. They do have buffalo wings, they’re just not on the menu. Weird. Anyway, it was all good. Apologies for devouring a chunk of the pretzel before remembering to take a photo :haha:

    MVIMG_20200307_182453.jpg

As for beer, we tried the Modelo - have never had that before but it’s pretty decent as a session beer.

    MVIMG_20200307_190412.jpg

The limes soon started to add up though :haha:

    MVIMG_20200307_200205.jpg

Later on there was live music courtesy of a guy and his guitar. I’m sorry, I have shamefully forgotten his name (to be fair I was a bit (actually extremely) drunk by this point…) But he was very talented - he did some amazing blues rock covers, his version of The Wind Cries Mary was absolutely perfect! If you get the chance you should check this guy out.

Despite my lack of faculties, somehow managed to land my best win ever on the Quick Hits on the way back to NYNY :woohoo:

    MVIMG_20200307_212425.jpg

So all in all, a great, and very boozy night :drunk::beer:
