Ok, to comply with forum rules and keep this thread and poll clean, all I am looking for is what people are or are not doing with respect to their plans.

In other words, no discussion or argument about why or why not.

I will have a poll up but interested in people's long form thoughts, too.

So long as my airline or hotel doesn't cancel for me, I'm good to go! :drunk:

For my part, my trip is still a go as of now.

But I am monitoring airline cancellation policy changes and where the infection hits, and have also already discussed the potential of having to self isolate on my return with my boss. This is for a mid april trip.

And as for the trip itself, I am seriously weighing whether any shows will even be available, whether to go to any of them, and also changing my normal gambling mix to have less close contact with other tourists.

I am also thinking given Swoop's history that there is also a risk that they just cancel the flight.

I just had sinus surgery last week, so I'm restricted from all kinds of travel, including flying. I'm also supposed to stay away from people to avoid catching anything that might extend my recovery (even if there were no pandemic), so I had already planned to have a quiet spring at home. :)

There was talk about taking a long weekend and going up to River Rock Casino near Vancouver, BC. Those plans are on hold, but they weren't exactly any plans made before all of this.

If I had plans to visit Vegas, I would be cancelling or rescheduling. Here is why. I am immuno-compromised and I have an underlying condition. I'm only in my 50's, but every trip I come home with some kind of Vegas Crud. The last two trips I have come home with some cough/crud that turned into a sinus infection, one that took 4 rounds of antibiotics and 6 months to get under control enough to schedule surgery. So, I may be a special case. :)

If I had my husband's immune system and had a trip scheduled, I would probably still be going. I would probably plan to avoid shows or being in any crowded and contained area for a long period of time. I'd watch myself around sick people, trying to keep a buffer. And I'd wash my hands like it was my new religion.

After seeing ridiculously low round trip non-stop airfares from CLT and that I can stay for free, I might just fly out next week. I'm kind of just keeping an eye on prices and seeing if March Madness gets cancelled.

I have had to cancel as well. Sonya I am actually on the list for sinus surgery, have been waiting for 3 years (here in Canada). I was supposed to be leaving tomorrow, and I have cancelled. I have severe lung issues and can't risk it. For the longest time I was like " I am going no matter what", but then realized a few days ago I just can't, it isn't smart with my health issues to risk it, and also don't want to risk being stuck and not being able to get back to Canada. If I was a totally healthy person I think I would still be going though.

Our next trip is in coordination with my in-laws. We think they should cancel. They're not ancient but they are the target demographic . If they stay the course we'll meet up with them but my wife and I will be busy with outside activities. We've gambled in the past. We can do it in the future. Life takes no turn either direction if we don't get a casino fix.

That's an extra decision point for people traveling from outside the US. I think you made the right decision. But yeah, cancelling a Vegas trip is never fun.

We have a trip scheduled for the week before Easter. At this time I'm not planning on canceling. I will continue to monitor how everything continues to evolve and make a decision closer to our departure time. Everything in cancellable except some race tickets. If we have to eat those, it's not the end of the world.

I wasn't coming any time soon before. Nothing's changed. I would have to get a really sexy deal to put Vegas in my radar.

Just after the long weekend in May and unless something major happens we have no plans on cancelling.

I posted this same comment in another thread. I am still planning on going the first week of May but I am most concerned about the long flight from NYC to Vegas.

Being on a plane for 5.5 hours scares me a bit. If it is half full and I am not too close to anyone I feel better about the flight but I won't know until I board.

I still have some time to see how bad this thing gets before I make a move either way.

Being able to get my JetBlue points back is making me feel better if I do need to cancel.

I got an AC trip planned in April and Vegas in May or September. I am keeping a close eye and haven't made any decisions yet. Luckily I haven't booked flights and my hotel reservation is fully refundable. So I am in wait-and-see mode.

Since I just got back 2 weeks ago, the only thing that is changing would be me looking to go back if airfare becomes cheap enough. The hotels are already offering much better rates, but so far airfare from my city hasn't come down enough for me to want to buy, especially knowing that there are still restrictions in place regarding the tickets and refunds.

Also, I just booked a hotel in Atlanta for next month to go to a MotoAmerica Superbike race weekend in the hopes that it doesn't get cancelled but am keeping my plans right now to reservations that can be cancelled without charge.

<edit> now I'm torn. I can fly Frontier for $53 R/T CLE to LAS on those same dates.

I am so seriously on the fence. My wife I think is more nervous than I am but she is not letting on. I personally am leaning towards going. We are booked with Swoop and there is no point in refunding as the change cost will basically wipe out the ticket.

The other wrinkle is my employer. They already have danced around the fact that they would rather I don't go. I do NOT want to drag this thread down a rabbit hole on that. However, I would likely self quarantine for 2 weeks after returning anyway and I am lucky in that I can work from home without issue.

The pace that things are changing will dictate what we will do. Right now I am 50/50.

My conference, Dell Technologies World, was cancelled. They gave me the option for a full refund or roll over registration to next year's event. I elected for refund to make it easier for accounting staff to do their accounting stuff.

Hotel wasn't paid for, and I booked direct so I was able to cancel that without any issue.

I still have my flight with WestJet booked though. On Tuesday they were waiving the fee for anyone travelling up until March 31. Then on Wednesday they decided to waive the fee for all travel during March and April. As soon as they announce May then I'll cancel that for a refund. I'm not sure if they actually refund in this case or if they just save that money in our "Travel Bank" to be booked within one year of cancellation, which is their stand operational procedure, but due to the pandemic they could change things?. Either way, I intend to go to a conference in Vegas in 2021 so I'll be good, but for the accountants at work they prefer to get the refund.

Canceled March Madness trip coming up Wednesday. Flight was on SW points, easily refundable, Mirage room refundable. Likely entire tournament will be canceled, so that's a monkey wrench for the whole trip.
