Interesting. I had a similar experience with a comped drink on the floor -- but it was bourbon on the rocks, and it was at Caesars Palace.

The unfortunate thing is the CWs do not have much control over this. No more service bartenders. They hit a button and can't do much about it.

“If you look at the third quarter projections our muddling expenses are expected to drop by 17 percent versus the same quarter last year. Blending expenses, of course, remain a huge concern.”

Peachy deliciousness. The Bellagio Cocktail at the Baccarat Bar was always outstanding.

Umm... I had an old fashioned there on Tuesday, which is muddled, at the Sports Bar. Think the waitress may not have this 100% correct, or maybe that's true on the floor, but not at the bars?

Absolutely, positively 100% true. In 2008 I was licking my chops waiting for all the fabulous offers the casinos were going to make to get players through the doors. Never happened.

Love caipirinhas. My wife is Brazilian/American and every time she travels to visit family and/or her family or friends come to Las Vegas, they have a standing order to bring back a bottle or two of cachaça.

Sorry I haven't checked in to the forum for a bit!

The picture and description in that pinterest post looks different than what I was getting, however the picture in @nhcris post on page 2 looks more like it but is also referenced as a "Bellagio Cocktail" so I'm actually not sure.

I was just on the phone w bellagio vip service (regarding future trip) and asked regards “not comped drinks” and a lady host got on the phone and according to her “if you playing on table games, you will not have any problem getting any drink service” she also mentioned as side note “ppl were abusing drink service on slot machines (meaning not playing but just ordering free drinks) she thinks thats why they cracking down on drink arrive.” I can understand bellagio perspective on comp drink service as well but man I would think they still need to offer it “regardless” so it will get ppl to play more, I don’t know.

stayed at the Bellagio last month. didn't ask for anything fancy or special but the overall quality of a vodka soda, screwdriver, etc was terrible. The service was fine to the point of just passing on drinks there.

If it is abuse then it would be more practical to do ordering from the machine and base the drinks offered on the screw to the players card inserted (similar to how CET does it ina few locations outside of Vegas).

I had a totally opposite experience in 2008. It was just a few years after I turned 21 and when the downturn was at it's peak I had offers I absolutely had no business getting as a "poker player". Suite offers, flight offers, big dining and food credits. Literally anything to get me in the door. I wonder if it's because they viewed me as a player who could be developed as opposed to long established. ( I had only been playing limit hold em for like 2 years). But we certainly took advantage of everything. I went from maybe a comped breakfast after playing all night, to comped everything we could imagine. Happened to most of my poker playing friends too. While the bulk of the comps we used were in AC, I can distinctly remember a free flight offer we got a couple times to go to Vegas. We were in school and couldn't commit to the 5 nights the offer was for.

With all the cutting on what type of 'comp' drinks we can order as customers, do you think at some point the waitresses will start accepting payment for orders they don't want to comp anymore? We have no comp alcoholic drinks at our local, so we pay when we order. Wonder if and when that might start in Vegas.
