Checked into my home for the next three nights. The room is a lot smaller than what I had at Horseshoe , but it’s very nice.

 

Glad you enjoyed it. Love their strawberry pie. If you go to Harrah’s Louisiana Downs just know they have no VP. They do have some old video slots.

First drink of the day and first quad of the day. I’ll take them both.

 

Even on the day at Margaritaville so far. Up $100 on VP, down $100 on slots. Pizza and beer break. Snuck in just in time to snag their happy hour special - a two topping 10 inch pizza and a beer for $10.

 

Loving this report! Always wanted to check out Bossier/Shreveport, though haven't been able to get a "tourist" perspective of the place too easily. This is great though

Weird question... if Vegas is the "baseline" for casino towns, how would you compare your impression of Bossier/Shreveport to your impression of Vegas? Any particularly noticeable difference in terms of vibe, the other guests, the staff, the amenities?

 

One recommendation is marilynn's place. Great little restaurant in an old car repair garage. It's in Bossier City. Awesome food there. Close to where you're at too.

 

Holy moly! The casino got busy. Like super duper busy. Like can barely get on a machine busy. Not my scene. Plus its become impossible to get a drink. I’m up in my room having a drink and my leftover pizza. May make one more run in a bit. Or might just chill.

This definitely isn't Vegas. It isn't even Atlantic City. That said, for what it is, it's nice enough. The casinos are small. Really, really small. Especially compared to Vegas. And they're spread out all over. Eldorado and Sam's Town are right next door and walkable, but to get between any of the others requires a car (or Uber). Basically, I'm glad I came here for the weekend and saw it. And if I was in the area again, I'd do another weekend here. But I wouldn't go too far out of my way to get here.

Yeah, Shreveport and Lake Charles get busy on the weekends when us Texans invade. Both are not that far from Dallas and Houston respectively.

Everything is coming up Eliza today. Was driving by so stopped briefly at Sams Town. Won a quick $500 and now headed back to Margaritaville.
