Sunday March 1 2020, took the 7:45 am SWA Flt MDW - LAS. 88 open seats on a 737-800 (175 seats). I have never seen that many open seats from MDW
It was great! Had a whole row by myself!.
Had a early bird for this flt it was A 50. For this flight it didn't mean a thing.

On the return on Wed it was announced that there were some 30 ish open seats. Looked crowded to me. That too was a 800 series aircraft.
    Early bird - A 47.

Been considering not doing the EB and get upgraded boarding if available.

Every other flight I've taken on SW direct to Vegas has been full. So, I was crossing my fingers that people wouldn't pack this one. And, it looks like it only adds about 45-1 hour to the flight. So, not too bad. Maybe I'll get an early b-day present, and it won't be full. ;)

Every time we fly out of Pittsburgh to Vegas on SW from the flight was either full or had 1 maybe 2 open seats to and from and we fly on Tuesday or Wednesday. I booked my rooms for this July but cannot find a flight priced reasonable on SW RT this year. I plan to wait for one of the flash sales, which may or may not happen this year.

Southwest management said today that it's starting to sense a 9/11 feel to the market. Alaska, based in Seattle, announced a short-term sale today with fares as low as $20 each way. Never seen that. They are mainly a west coast carrier and therefore are seeing a big impact in traffic.

SW just reduced air fare from Phoenix to Las Vegas for our May trip. Went from 101.00 one way to 45.00 one way. WOW! Glad I waited to book. :headbang:

Might want to check your departing city, hopefully they have a good deal.

I know this isn’t Vegas related but we just flew home from Kansas City to Dallas last week with a whopping 19 people on the flight. It felt kinda of weird with us all spread out through the plane.

Air travel is collapsing nationwide, I know I was planning a trip to vegas in may and prob wont go, why bother, even if the casinos are open it'll be a ghost town.

So I'm flying from DCA to New Orleans tonight on SW and tried to switch my flight to an earlier one because, well, I want to spend more time there lol. And, to change it one way would be $600 which leads me to believe the flight is either quite full, or the day of change fees have doubled. My presumption is the former but I'll be able to confirm tonight.

Just returned from Vegas last night. 50-60 empty seats on the flight, about the same on my flight to Vegas on Sunday.

Vegas seemed less busy as well but it was midweek and just before spring break and the basketball tournament.

I actually should mentioned I checked in and for once got an A boarding pass, perhaps less people are on my flight but I'll see shortly. My buddy flew in just now from ATL on Delta and said the plane was empty lol
