    Hi all,

Looking to reserve a daybed in the end of September. Price is listed as $100 which is very acceptable since it is F&B.

Does anyone know where the daybeds are located since there are a few pools? I would love to be around the lazy river.

Do they go by the principle of first come, first choice? If that was the case, I’d make sure to be there a bit before opening.

Bonus side question: it states tax (clear) and gratuity of 18% added on top of the bill. Does that mean my tip is taken care of? I assume I could leave something extra if service was really great but I’m not having to leave another 20% or so as standard?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!

I have a cabana in May, so I can answer these. There is a map of the pool and locations of beds/cabanas on the MGM website. There ARE daybeds along the lazy river. I would rent it now, as the price goes up really quickly & everything around the lazy river is prime real estate. In fact, that is where I’ve requested my cabana. When you book, your credit card will be charged the $100 now, then you will be responsible for the $18 and tax in person. I called the MGM and asked for the pool supervisor, they actually have one person working year around (who is really friendly and helpful). Although it’s not guaranteed, you can request a preference, and they will note it in your reservation. You cannot do this online, you’ll have to call.

I just looked around for a bit, but couldn’t find the map. Do you have a link by any chance?

I swore I saw one with daybeds, can't find it. Here is one for the cabanas. I'm sure if you call, they can lead you to a map.

Last summer we got a premium daybed, there were only 6 available and they were all located by the waterfall area at the lazy river. They were awesome, basically a king size bed with a big umbrella for shade. We paid $150 for an early July date. 100% worth it.

This is from 2017... It's outdated since i believe they installed new day beds and reserve chairs in and around that lagoon area and other areas. they also combined a few cabanas to create a double wide party cabana. Even the pool names have changed since then.

You can probably call the pool (probably not even open yet) and ask for a map layout. that's how i got this a few years ago.

In the extreme heat of summer you want #12 cabana... there is a tree that gives great shade right between #12 and 13. We got a lot of jealous looks. Girls were even wanting to crash our cabana (or at least tried to) the patio area immediately outside the cabana is completely shaded most of the day. If you're looking for sun then maybe this isn't the cabana for you. but there's sun and there's vegas summer sun.

dont suppose anyone knows if they have these daybeds (Lounger chairs) over in the Directors Pool ?? (ie: somewhere quiet, like the Oasis pool in Mirage / vip pool in Luxor)
Happy to pay for the chairs :)

They have loungers, daybeds and cabanas at the private reserve pool (18 and over) which you can pay for.

I'm sure this has been answered before, but if I'm staying at NYNY, can I use the pool at MGM Grand? Going at the end of March and while the NYNY pool is adequate, I'm afraid the water won't be warm enough due to the pool location and the large amount of shade it gets thru the day

Yes, if you’re renting a daybed or cabana you can enter the pool. At least that’s what I have been told.

From what I understand, you cannot. With that said, 70% of the time I go to the MGM Pool, they don't check room keys.

Yes, if you're a paying customer, you do not need to be staying at the hotel. If you're just going to hang in the pool or snag a first-come-first-served lounger they're supposed to restrict to only hotel guests.

in order to go to the MGM pool you have to go through turnstiles and someone checks for your room key and bag.. it would be hard to sneak through that. If you have cabana or day bed reserved (or plan to rent a chair) you can just say so to the bag checker and they will let you through without a key. You could possibly use that method to sneak in.

FYI i flashed my Mlife gold card accidentally instead of my room key once and the person did not accept it. i could have easily shown my room key but i wanted to argue that an mlife gold member should have access to any mlife pool (no where is it written that this is the case, i just assumed so)

Tip is not included in your f&b minimum.

This won't be a popular answer, but you can always get a room key off eBay for $2.
