Hey VMB, check out the video

    https://youtu.be/lxhv21CsoHI

bottom line is family loved/missed their dog so much (there’s story behind) they decided to clone the dog...
I didn’t realize people already doing this... what do you guys think? I personally think, it’s great idea, it’s costly but if you have money why not etc. just thought it was sweet story and wanted to share..(however, it does kinda bother me about people playing God) but if I could have my dog back by cloning I would :( I do miss her very much.

btw I don’t want to get into debate “life/playing god” lol

lets just stick w story and discuss about if you would clone your dog or not :)

So tempting. But not sure I would, seems a bit like playing god.

In this case, a figure of speech.

We lost one of our dogs year before last. He was twelve, lived a good life, and was loved each and every day. I still miss his gentle good humor and patient companionship, but I don't think I'd have cloned him even if given the chance. Would have been tempting though. I have always wondered if a clone would have the same personality as the original.

If you clone her, she will look the same but will be a different dog. Will have completely different life experiences and will have similar, but different, personality. You could just go out and buy a dog of the same breed.

On the other hand, I miss my grandmother. I can dig her up and clone her to make me feel better or just go on with my life with my wonderful past memories as just that, memories.

If you believe your pet has a soul, are you really getting your same exact pet back again ?

@smerrian if you look thru video ..owner states dog has same personality not to mention likes same toys etc...
but you may be right I don’t know how a clone dog would have same personality (Appearance might be same) anyhow, just thought it’s cool story.

I want to clone my past wins at the craps table...…..

Seriously though, no. I don't think I would clone my doggie, who I do miss very much.

I don't know why. Maybe it's a life is precious thing and every life is unique, wonderful, and special.

I want to clone an old girlfriend who had incredibly shapely legs and loved to wear nylons.

Yeah? I admit to my fetishes.

I LOVED my cats. But I wouldn’t clone them. There are too many animals out there who need good homes.

Me. I think that a clone, sets a person up for disappointment.

Memories (of something lost) cannot be duplicated...yeah...I’m a sap...

We joke all the time that I will clone my dog. I can't even stand to think about the day I will lose her. I've never been so attached to an animal ever. But in reality I don't think I could do it. I'd be too afraid that a copy of Ralphie just wouldn't be my Ralphie. I don't think I'll ever have another dog after Ralphie passes.

No. What @JosieCat said. With all the money spent could support a few in shelters and provide a good home.
