I was at Harrahs New Orleans last night and saw, for the first time, sore winners at the craps table.

I was being a boring player at a $10 table late at night. I played $20-$50 pass line and the exact amount of my bet as odds. Never crapped out when I was the shooter and celebrated my wins, but wasn’t over the top like I just won the World Series or something.

I wasn’t being a ‘big shot’ by playing over the minimum, my Buddy wasn’t with me but he won’t play for less than $100 which is still fine at a low roller table, I don’t even pay attention to what others are betting unless they’re playing dark side.

Anyway, ended up having to leave which sucked. Craps is supposed to be a social game, ugh, I guess it must suck if they’re losing all night and barely making it back

You were unclear what any other players were doing which made them "sore winners."

I have played craps at Harrahs New Orleans. They used to have the field bet area labeled "Bayou" which I thought was a nice, local touch.

So if they're losing all night and barely making it back, who were the "sore winners"? Were you one of the sore winners?

Sorry the game sucked since you were doing well.

Let me clarify. I was celebrating when I made my point, the grumpy women seemed mad even after a win.

Definitely didn’t leave in the middle of a roll, just can’t believe I made the point and they seemed mad even after they also won.

Don't ever go to Atlantic City if this sort of thing bothers you.

Lets be honest......the OP left out the past where he wanted to chest bump the women after he made his point and they weren't receptive :D

AC does have its share of grumps, but I have seen people having fun at the craps table there. But the closest casino to me is MGM National Harbor in Maryland, where the craps tables are almost always at least $25 minimums and people are sweating it. I have NEVER heard anyone cheering at a craps table at MGMNH.

I see. The sore winners weren't winning enough, even though they won along with you. Yeah, those kind of people suck. They shouldn't be playing. I would leave the table too.

Life is too short to be in the company of negative people. Leave them. Surround yourself with positive people. Life will be so much better.
Those that can't take the losses shouldn't be playing betting games. Losses are expected. Yes, sometimes it's so bad that you don't even get any play out of your money, but still, you shouldn't be sweating it so much that you bang the table or the machine. Have a sip of your drink, cuss under your breath and place another bet.

I always cheer at the table. I've seen ice cold tables, and the shooter finally hits a point, I'll clap, and everyone else is scowling. I often say, "table must be full of rich people if they aren't happy about the first win in 20 minutes!"

If you’re at a $10 table, why are you betting $20 on the pass line and $20 odds instead of $10 pass line and $30 odds? You’re giving away money every time you hit the point.

I understand that craps is a social game, and I appreciate people celebrating after a point is made, or a hard way, etc.. But I think that a lot of craps players, including me, are not big at celebrating everything at a craps table. Now I can get very excited with a big roll and I will fist bump with the best of them.

The same reason that setting the dice, dice off the table, dealer change, mentioning the dreaded 7 at the table ,and the other 300 superstitions that craps players fear, probably don’t influence the dice. Cheering and yelling after every single win or number won’t help the dice get hot any faster. But when they do get hot, then the celebrating will follow.

I solely celebrated a $25 hard-6 hit and pass line 4 winner with $150 odds behind today at the local. Everyone else was just playing 5 on the line with no odds so they didn't join me...oh well Their loss!

I saw a cranky old guy mad that a nice lady in a bachelorette party @elco was taking to long to continue her winning roll fast enough for him.
That guy being next to me and break in dealers (who were slowing it down) made me leave what could have been a great time.
I left the property. I don't got time for that.

I like a rowdy, drunk, yelling, positive table. I'll wait out midnight to 3am for it.

Geezus, I'll clap if I win on my $6 #8 bet. Heck, I am happy just to get back a dollar on a bet.

Maybe those "sore winners" are like the slot winners with a $1,200 hand pay -- after they put $5,000 into the machine. The slot attendants with the paperwork may be disappointed by the tip, or lack of it, but had no idea what a bath the "winner" suffered.

Yeah, I've come across some shooters throwing some hard hints for tips after they've had a mini-heater.

Wish these guys would understand that their mini- heater doesn't even dent the deficit a lot of us were already in. Plus they tend to forget my mini-heater that probably netted them a nice profit.

You don't see me crying for tips. It's the way the game is played. Nobody owes nobody nothin.
