We wanted to sit at the bar. It was fine. I was happy with my draft Lagunitus. The bartender actually told my friend twice that if she just put a $20 in the VP machine he could comp her drink and she didn’t want to.

Finally had the chance to play (and drink) at the Boar’s Head Bar at MSS. Tried the pale and the red. And... I’m up for the first time on this trip! Thanks to a couple of good spins on the Buffalo slot at the bar. It was great, it was spinning away at the free games and I was able to chat chat with my friend.

I love your view over the bazaar shops - sure look different from above.

Just a note - It's not really the 65th floor - LOL. It's just bally's way of numbering different towers, it's probably actually the 15th floor of that tower.

Hope you have some good luck to ease the plumber's bill a little bit.

IKR about the 65th. We actually got a laugh out of it.

Bummer alert—-Barry Manilow cancelled!!!!! We are super bummed!!!

What should we do instead? I’ve suggested a nic(er) dinner than we had planned. (MAG instead of grab n go)

The Guardian Angel Cathedral is kinda tucked in north of Wynn on a little side street. I try to attend Mass there when I am in town. Everyone is so friendly and the music on Sundays is usually outstanding. Last trip they had a little orchestra that played before, during and after Mass. It was like a little concert!

After getting the bummer news about Barry, we had a drink at the Westgate bar. I had an odd mango wheat beer and my friend had some kind of red wine.

The vendor from whom she bought the tickets called her and also emailed and gave her an immediate refund. Goldstar -they did it right.

So We had a lovely dinner at MAG. I had the LEY coupon (which I’d planned to use at breakfast).

Then we walked over to Tuscany Suites for the Piazza Lounge live music. I played some VP (up down up even) my friend just paid for her Riesling.

We stayed ‘til the closing song then walked back to Bally’s. My friend headed up to the room. I played some slots (lost) and VP (won then lost).
    Pictures in the next post.

MAG dinner. Skate wing and broccolini
    Broiled scallops and arugula salad

Piazza Lounge act ( did not catch his name but he does Thursday once a month) good voice, he kind of saved the night

What’s wrong with this VP picture? The dealt winning had info is so faint in the bar light you can easily miss it. I almost tossed a straight. Slow played after that. These are the Piazza bartop machines.

We had breakfast again at Eataly. I finally tried the burnt wheat croissant and hated it so got the bacon and egg instead. We walked back to Bally’s, packed up and left bags with the bell desk.

Walked to Linq to cash my TITOs and Harrah’s to cash in my Wednesday sports bets. Then we walked up to Wynn; from there we grabbed a Lyft to the Fremont to cash in my Thursday sports bets and then the Mob Museum.

This is what pisses me off about Westgate. We had tickets to see Clint Holmes there a few years ago. He cancelled (several days before the date), but Westgate couldn't be bothered to let us know so we could plan something else. They even sent me a reminder of the show that morning! They just wait until you get there and "oh, sorry". Won't ever go back there.

That's too bad about the Barry Manilow concert. I saw him twice, most recently last year at Westgate & his shows are awesome. Hopefully you get another chance to see him!

So....finally getting back to this TR for a few closing notes.

First, while it felt super decadent to have three trips to Las Vegas in less than two months (my trip with the Sweetie to NYNY in Jan; solo NoMad early Feb and this trip lateish Feb), I am SO glad I did it! My DH had a tough time during my solo trip, but we figured out some work-arounds with the kids for this trip to lessen his stress and it worked fine. I have Park booked for late May; if curfew/stay home ends, I am going no matter what!

As to this trip, it went altogether better than I could have hoped! My friend and I got along really well--we were never at a loss for stuff to talk about, and we were quite compatible for dining--she loved Eataly, MAG, and Le Thai! It was a treat to go to mass in Las Vegas; it felt refreshing to have that time at church. I'd like to go for a Sunday mass if I'm ever in town again on a Sunday morning.

However, I gambled less this trip than on any other trip except my first one, where I had no idea what to do. I got to play craps once (at ... the Cal I think, or maybe Main Street Station?), more VP than anything else, and very little slots. My friend was just not interested in gambling. On our last day, killing a little time before getting our Lyft to the airport, we played at the same bar we'd started at on our first day. I put a $20 in her machine, and said, just play whatever you want. She picked the video BJ which she was actually pretty good at. That was the only hitch on the trip. I'd like to go with someone who liked to gamble about as much as me; I think that would be fun! We'll see if I ever meet that mythical friend:)

That said, we did talk about a do-over to see Barry Manilow. Maybe sometime in the fall. I do have Excalibur booked on a comp in September, so that might be a fun time to go (if the world cooperates).

Big thanks to those who said Bally's was a good option. The room was HUGE and it was really nice to have a lot of space when traveling with a friend rather than a Sweetie. I liked the location, and the view was worth the extra $5/night I paid. Oh, it was a dirt cheap rate--she was amazed at how cheap the hotel part was.

Not much else to say, except I am playing that darn MyVegas game too many times a day just for a little taste of what could be.
