So I have never done a bigger trip solo. I am mid 30s female, who is going through some tough crap right now and need a GETAWAY asap. Vegas is a safe bet for me I guess, since I have been before several times. Is it dumb to attempt to Vegas solo? Any hotel recommendations for solo? I was there in December at PH. Hoping I can make this enjoyable :/

Never dumb to go solo. I just got back from my first solo trip and had the time of my life.

As to PH, apparently Debbie Gibson approves:

In another thread they said she filmed that whole video at PH.

I had my first Solo trip in December and I LOVED IT! Dont have to worry if you are doing what others like, or if they are getting bored. Did what I wanted on my time. I stayed at Bally's and will be staying there again in May/June.

Good luck with your troubles and have fun in Vegas!

I have done many solo trips and LOVE them! You can do what you want when you want.
As for where to stay, stay where you are comfortable. If you want to go back to a known place, do that. Or try a new place. I often do both on a trip!
I hope this getaway is just what you need to feel better!

I almost prefer solo trips to vegas. No rushing to finish a poker tournament or stop what I'm doing to rush and pick up my wife. I don't feel guilty while I'm doing my thing and leaving my wife to find something to do. My wife isn't a gambler so she won't go with me while I gamble. I love going solo and I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I love it also. I get to be myself and do what I want, when I want. Endless things to do and you can do as much (or as little) as you want. And I use it as an excuse to live to excess- food, booze, whatever. It's my happy place. One of the only places I feel truly free. Oh, and I think it's probably the only place on earth where you can brush shoulders with eccentric and fabulously wealthy people and they don't judge you; we're all out there just to enjoy ourselves.

Would be silly not to go, imo.

I just did 2 weeks solo in December, and it was great. Other than the results :p

I LOVE going solo. Sleep when you want. Eat when you want. Play the games your friends don't like. Go to the spa. Sit at the bar and make new friends. My current favorite hotels for solo trips are Cosmopolitan, Aria and Mirage.

Another vote for DO IT! I'm also a mid-30s (where did the time go?) female who often does Vegas solo. My favorite thing about solo travel is I get to do exactly what I want, whenever I want. Vegas is great for solo travel - so much to do and many opportunities for socializing (table games, bars) if wanted.

Little different because I live in Vegas so no real traveling involved but back home I would never think to ever "go out" alone. Living here I find myself going out alone all the time. I'm a table player so never really feel like I'm alone. The thing with the strip and downtown is 90 percent of people are on vacation having my a good time. Most have had a few and are alot more social than in their normal environment. The other thing is in those two spots doesn't matter if it's a Saturday night or a Tuesday afternoon people are out drinking gambling and letting loose. I say go for it as you can see from the responses many people prefer solo trips and I can see why.

    I vote for DO IT!

Aria is very solo-friendly, in no small part because there are a ton of locals who live right around there and hang out at Aria. But no place is really solo-unfriendly, just try to avoid getting in your own head and becoming too self-conscious. It's a very welcoming place.

Female, 40's, took my first solo trip last year and LOVED it. I DEFINITELY would do a solo trip again.

On where to stay, I'd say just stay someplace you know you like, or have been wanting to try.

I AM, sorry you've been dealing with a rough period, and I hope it clears quickly. A "pamper myself and do what I want, when I want" trip might be a big help.... Good luck!!

Yes do it, but I think somewhere on the strip would be better than downtown.

Most of my trips are solo so i highly recommend
I'd stay on the main part of the strip (between spring mountain road and Tropicana Ave)
I would not stay on Fremont

And I Hope life gets easier for you
    Best of luck

Please let us know if you decided to go. I’ve been solo 5 times in the last 3 years. The wife is tired of Vegas, and most people I know don’t care for Vegas. Nothing wrong with a solo trip.
