Julian, it’s not near that complicated as far as earning comps. VPFree2 is an excellent website in as far as figuring out a casino’s players club and comp rates. Here is a page there that talks about their players club.....

    https://www.vpfree2.com/casino/d-las-vegas-casino/club

All of my play there is on the Bonus 8/5 progressive, but you can see that it doesn’t matter what video poker game you play there, they all earn the same rate. Now, over at 4Q, they have two different rates there because they have some =>100% VP games there. On those games you only earn half of the rate compared to their <100% games.

Now, for table play, I’m am not sure how they calculate comp rate, but I dot play tables so it is of little concern to me.

    Mike

FABismonte, I have checked into the video blackjack game at Binions. I took the rules of the game and plugged it into a Blackjack Basic Strategy Engine, and it came in at a .8% house edge. So the return here is right at the same edge as the 8/5 Bonus Poker game they have. You would think that it would definitely be a lower volatility game, but on my last trip, I played it three days in a row when Binions had their comp and FP offers going, and it cleaned my clock every day!

    Mike,

I just got back from a trip and the only info I saw when I had my card in was the total points and cash value. I would really like to know if/how much in comp $s I have and I didn't see it. Do you remember if I need to look in a certain place or some where else?? I kept checking this as I played and never found it. At Binions it shows up clear as day. Any light you can shed would be helpful as I return in just 9 days. :nworthy:

I'm not @Mike Aclin, but I know for sure that not every machine at Four Queens will show you your comp dollars. Definitely not most of my favorite video poker machines there. You might need to hop around for a bit until you find one that does show everything. (IIRC, the Top Dollar machines near the mini food court show comp dollars when you put your card in.)

Perfect! That's what I needed! I looked at a number of machines (majority VP) and I played a few old ones...now I'll look for those Top Dollars! I think I even remember seeing them and was thinking about playing and naturally got distracted. Thanks.

The video poker machines at Four Queens near the cashier have this info if you press “account”.

Braggart! Kidding! LOL! Thanks for the visual...it helps to see what I'm looking for. I've never had this problem at Binions. Glad to know I'm not crazy at least. :goofy:

Does anyone know if the folks on the regular reservations line at Four Queens can pull up your offers? I think my March mailer got lost in the mail - wondering if I can just call the regular line or if there's a different number I have to call? Hoping I can get some discounted rooms next month for a quick Silver Strikes trip. Rates are ridiculously high that week due to the Conexpo show.

I've been getting mailers for either discounted rooms or 2 nights free, plus $40-80 free play. We average 500+ points a day playing mostly slots.

@Eric1285 I know for sure that the front desk can see your offers. If you ever call in to reserve an offer, all you likely ever need to say is that you have a gaming offer, and they will properly book it. I have never had to give an offer code. For NYE week, I called in before I even had the invitation in hand (my print mailers take a while to get to me all the way in Massachusetts; also, I had a verbal confirmation from a host indicating that I should expect to get that offer), and they were still able to see it -- and then forwarded my call to the hosts.

I will do whatever I can do to help you Tee!

BTW, the Four Queens point balance can be used for cash back or some of the Four Queens swag they have behind the club booth (including Jeweled animals from previous Chinese New Years). Points are independant of comp dollars which can be used for food or drink. I had an interesting (if inefficient) conversation with the boothling about my points. It was along the lines of the following: (Me): Is there any advantage to deferring my cash back? (Her): Some people like to keep in so it builds up. (Me) But is there any advantage to keeping the cash back on the account? (Her) Some people like to wait until they check-out to get cash back. (Me) But is there an advantage to getting to some threshold of cash back before cashing it? (Her) You can get the cash back any time. (Evasive conversation continues. . . but ultimately the answer is waiting to get cash back has no player advantage)

I wonder if the boothlings were directed to not encourage people to get their cash back right away in the hope they would forget to do so. This would either give the Four Queens the time value of the money or at some time presumably a period of inactivity would extinguish those points.

@FABismonte Just an aside regarding Cash back. I had no idea about this for a number of years. I was so pleasantly surprised to find this out at The D and Binions on trip a few years back. I kind of assumed 4 Queens was the same, but glad to have confirmation. A number of these places don't give me the best upfront offers, but being able to earn cash back and comps is a pretty sweet deal in and of itself. :)

Oh and your conversation with that boothling was scary...lol!

You should just ask them if there's any advantage to holding your cash back, might confirm your suspicion! :haha::bang:

FABismonte, the boothling discussion is about right, 30 seconds of your life you will never get back. And Tee, you can take the point balance and divide it by 40 to know how much cash back you have earned in $. And remember, at 4Q (and Binions I assume) it is pure cash back, not FP. I’m a quarter player and I take my cash out about every 6 months. It is kind of nice to know you have a piggy bank if you like to save it, but should you have a major life event, and don’t get back to the casino in over a year, your cash back and comps go ‘wee, wee’ all the way back to the casino!

One day during Super Bowl weekend I put 1,300 points in on VP at Binions. Previous I had put in about 200-300 points. Today I received this “Sapphire” level which doubles free play to $80 and two anytime rooms at the Apache Hotel

That is what I'm waiting on now. I'm hoping to get that in the next few days to book in April.

I THINK that a 500 daily point average gets a Binion's 2 night $80 FP offer. Anyone care to confirm or dispute with data points?

Has any 4Q regular here yet to receive their April/May offer? I got the one for Binion’s per my prior post, but if I don’t receive the 4Q one soon I’m gonna have to email Jen or call (the reservations people can see what offers I would be able to claim if I give them my players card number, correct?)...

Yes. I got my QQQQ offer the same day I received my Binions one in the mail. See below. I imagine you can call by now to confirm you own offer.

    Regards
