The title might be a bit dramatic, but I'm curious as to what all by fellow VMBers think is the correct approach in this scenario.

I've always been a V/P loyalist - my ex-wife loved the rooms there (which I also appreciate), the service generally is top notch, and I love the sportsbook. For the past couple of years I have been engaging in a planned exit from V/P. I've been using the free rooms there to leverage play at other (mainly CET) properties. My offers at V/P have gone from as many nights as I want with 4-500 FP/RB to now it looks like my "final" comp rooms with FP end in May and then I am receiving "special rates". I don't blame V/P at all for this development, as I have made no secret I've been low-playing them.

As luck would have it, although my coming trip to Vegas is solo I will likely bring a travelling companion for my future trips I can see where she would also appreciate the large bathroom and tub and ambiance of the "nicer" places.

So I find myself torn on my coming trip between either giving V/P a lot of play in an attempt to salvage that relationship OR transitioning a lot of play to MLife in an attempt to get comps at Bellagio/Aria or the nicer rooms in the Mlife brand.

While personally CET is great for me, outside of CP or maybe a suite at Paris I don't think my future companion (who is NOT a gambler), but would be more interested in the room amenities, a loooooong bath, or simply enjoying the view from the room, would enjoy many of the offerings in the CET lineup.

I've never attempted to 'repair' a relationship with a Casino after a string of slow-lowplays. Would a single trip of more aggressive play be "too little too late" and am I better off making the trips to Aria or Bellagio (or across the street to Mirage) to gamble?

I've gotten to the point I don't NEED comps to stay - so I am going to be willing to pay for the room if need be, but I figure if I'm gambling anyway I might as well try and get a benefit from it.

And at this point I'm not sure where I'm better off focusing my play.

    Any thoughts welcome.

    Thanks all.

Do you routinely get suites at CP? I know even the recently remodeled suites at Harrahs have nice tubs and great view (at least they did when we last stayed in one.

I would think you could repair your offers to at least comps if you play to the level you used to.

You might also want to consider cosmo, an executive is pretty active on this board and people seem to love the rooms. Also fountain view rooms would probably be pretty popular for a non-gambler, especially with the outside patio.

Are you primarily a slots player? Cosmopolitan might be right up your alley.

Alternatively, I consider MLife to have better properties than CET (Caesars being the exception).

    How about Wynn?

I've personally ebbed and flowed with CET, to the point where i've low-played, and then played more heavily to "bring myself back up". Offers have reacted fairly relative to my level (or lack thereof) play at CET.

During this "exit strategy" my play has been inconsistent - so my offers at CET have as well. While I can get a comp room at most properties (outside CP and sometimes Cromwell) almost any night I don't often get offered suites. I know I could get those offered if I focused more play at CET but in recent stays I've kind of meandered - Wynn, downtown, CET. I normally avoided Mlife since I'm largely a tables player and I didn't think they'd offer me much, but after a recent conference last fall when I was in town briefly I gave Mirage a small amount of play (maybe 2 hours @ $100'ish at craps, 4-5 hours of VP, and maybe two hours of slots), and I'm finding decent comp offers for the low end Mlife properties for weekdays. WHich makes me wonder if I could leverage into some nice offers at Aria/Bellagio.

I really like the idea of Cosmo, I'm just not sure how far my craps playing gets me there.

Same with Wynn. I stayed at Wynn one time (Nov '17) on a comp, and while I gave them a fair amount of play it wasn't enough to get really good offers. I maybe get comp weekday rooms and then cheap weekends with buffet passes or 50-200 in FP.

I know the above is a bit rambly, but I'm feeling a little bit like a gambler without a home. I've been coming to Vegas regularly (3-4x/year for about 10 years now) and forever it was always V/P with maybe a night or two thrown in somewhere else. Now I'm looking for a place to really focus on and I'm just not finding it.

Maybe its time to quit Vegas, but I am really feeling the itch big time.

WHile I am currently booked into a comp room at Palazzo with a small amount of free play, there's a small part of me that is tempted to just pay for a corner suite at Aria or Terrace suite at Cosmo and just get a fresh look.

I'd say go for MLife. Based on my win/loss records on MLife.com, they do a pretty good job at tracking table play accurately. I'm not sure what their comp weighting algorithm is between slots and tables though.

From what I understand, you won't get much from Cosmo if you're not a slots player.

That's my understanding too, they favor the slot play for comps and table game player are not really treated well as far as comps go. It's one of the reasons I have not really given Cosmo much play, I prefer craps and I have heard they don't do anything for craps players.

I consider the standard rooms at V/P to be near the top of the pile when it comes to the Strip. A salvage of that relationship would probably fit your needs if you're looking for a nice room, that would be my play in your situation. If they haven't 'over-comped' you yet, which it doesn't seem as they are still sending you offers, I would think a trip with decent play would get your offers back up close to where they used to be.

As others have eluded to, Cosmo gets a lot of love from everyone here. Fountain view rooms with a balcony are probably the best "view" rooms in Vegas, which someone who doesn't gamble would probably appreciate a lot.

Wynn is another consideration as their rooms are pretty nice. But if you can't seem to get any traction there comp-wise as you've mentioned, maybe that's not the place for you to try.
