I like to watch either Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, The Hangover, or Casino the night before :)

The very obvious one... I check out the vegasmessageboard to see what's going on..... Heading to Sin City on Feb 7th.. my 54th Vegas trip.... going for my usual frugal fest, bringing only $100 and planning on returning with much more than that.. rooms and meals are mostly free thanks to my vegas and wynn app.. flying direct on Spirit bus lines for $112 r/t direct from Boston. Rented a car, so my brother and I are gonna try and play every advantage play coupon from ACG and LVA available in Vegas. Can I cover the cost of the flight and the rental car (also $112 for 4 days somewhat ironically) and return with more than I left with?... I have done it before.... may even write up an old school trip report when I get back.... Plenty of online research has already been accomplished... now its time to Beat Vegas !!!

@Imaginos - Love Vegas Vacation. That movie is so bad it’s good. Watched it so many times on cable, I bought the DVD. Nick Papagiorgio from Yuma:nworthy:

About 6-8 weeks prior to departure:
    - Check to see if Botox is needed prior to trip and secure appointment for 2 weeks prior to departure.
    - Make hair appt for 3 weeks prior to departure, if needed.

If great offer from casino comes, check flights and book if cheap room AND flight match up.
Check car rental rates and book if cheap enough. If not cheap enough, check once a week to see if rates have gone down.
1-2 months out, start reading this board again
1 month out, start taking cash out of bank so I don't spend it prior.
1 month out, go through MyVegas app and start buying the rewards I want to use.
    2 weeks out, get haircut
Week prior, start trying on clothes to see what I can take. Pack 2 days before.
On flight, watch Vegas Vacation. (EVERY SINGLE TRIP)

Since we have been making plans for our early March trips for a few years now, we have learned a few things like we know flights rarely go down from here to Vegas after initial dates open up, and that the hotel blacks out dates a few months before we go. SO:
March flights booked on August 15 for departing flight and September 26 for return flight because Southwest flights weren't offered for return trip until September. One direct return trip usually sells out within a month.

On our August trip we reserved our rooms through my wife's host (3 rooms) and then confirmed them again after our March offers arrived.

We also schedule the room dates around our offers for the 7 night stay, (wife has 4 nights comped and I get 3, our neighbors each get 4 nights comped, and wife's cousin gets 3 and pays for rest), so we can plan who charges meals to the rooms around the comped food days for each person, and the days for free play.

I then reserve a parking spot with shuttle service located about 5 minutes from airport for $5 a day.

Once all that is set up, then about a month before trip we start the pre-trip planning of clothes still fitting, figuring bankroll, haircut, wife getting nails done, making sure prescriptions are filled, etc. Start putting items in suitcases around this time for our March trip.

I also make up a basic itinerary which spells out who is comped what on what days, the days we have completely free to go to the strip, off strip or downtown and when we are likely to be at basketball games (WCC Tournament).

For our trips later in the year, just find a cheap flight that fits around a decent offer, throw things together and go.
