    My Trip Report

Off to Vegas this evening for a quick 2 night getaway. Should be getting in around 8PM tonight and leaving 6PM Saturday. Staying Comped at the Wynn for the first time which me and my wife are very looking forward to.

We started the week off flying to New Orleans and stayed in Biloxi at the Beau Rivage for 2 nights. Had a good Gulf View!! Stay was Comped thru Mlife play.

We didn't play too much at the Beau. Maybe 30-40 minutes of video poker and a few slots. We walked over to have lunch at McElroy's which was fantastic. Great drinks and service by Tammy, we shared a crab poboy and fried popcorn shrimp. Delicious!

The little video poker we did play, we eeked out a profit playing $0.25 and $1 VP at the Breeze Bar enjoying Pina Coladas, beer, and some Coffee & Baileys at a profit. Crappy paytables, but they served drinks with my wife playing 1 credit quarters (and she turned $20 into $30 doing so amazingly). I had one good hit Quads playing dollars that made the night.

We had the buffet for dinner Tuesday night, comped thru the monthly platinum $75 food credit. It was an average buffet, nothing too spectacular, except for the delicious pecan pie for dessert.

Wednesday morning we drove to New Orleans!

Wednesday morning the drive to New Orleans was rainy and windy. The drive over Lake Pontchartrain basically had nothing to see due to the fog. We returned later Thursday to drive over the Causeway (the world's longest bridge over water!).

We went to Fairgrounds Racetrack to see the horses run and do a little betting. I've been to quite a few tracks around the US but this was only my wife's second track she been. Due to the rain, track was rated sloppy and not many attendees were at the track(it was a Wednesday also...)
We hit the early pick 4 and a few doubles to make a nice profit! My wife who is a small bettor turned $40 into $160, mostly on some doubles and a nice exacta in the 4th race.

After collecting our winnings (no luck after the 4th race), we drove over to the hotel in New Orleans, got checked in, rest a bit, then went to walk around the French Quarter and settled on dinner at Doris Metropolitan. Great steaks but very pricey. Was $210 with tip, 1 drink each and a shared side. When you're used to comped meals, it's painful taking out that wallet sometimes!!

Thursday morning we walked around the Riverwalk, did some more sightseeing and a bit of shopping. Then drove along the Pontchartrain Causeway and around Slidell to come back to the airport, where we are now awaiting our flight to Vegas!

Plans for this Vegas trip: RELAX, enjoy our comp stay at Wynn, which comes with a $200/day F&B credit and $1,000 freecredit. This was a result of our drop-in play, first time playing at the Wynn, where we played just under 2 hours in October earning about 4,9XX points and only losing $200 in actual loss(but obviously playing a lot to earn that many points). Not sure what the plan is for the freecredit yet, maybe $25 WoF machine or just bust it out on 3/5 play $1 video poker.

Have ACG coupons for The D and GG that will redeem tomorrow morning ($100 freeplay when earning 1000 points, $25 matchplay at each). Also have mailer offers from The D and GG - $75 freeplay, $75 matchplay at the D, $50 promo chips GG. Then we will get our $50 matchplay chips each from showing our Southwest passes at The D. Also have a "BURN EM" reservation at Mirage which I am using for $75 freeplay and $100 resort credit, which we'll likely use for Dinner tonight at one of the Mirage restaurants.

Plan on doing a CET diamond match for my Mlife Platinum status. Can you believe in 16 Vegas trips I have never gambled in a CET casino? Well, that has always been part of the plan to "delay" going there while using Mlife for all they got. I didn't think it would stretch it out this long but some heavy trips a few years ago kept some great Mlife offers coming (to the tune of $400-600 FP and 300-500 RC, plus hosts giving limos etc), now that I have low-played a few Mlife trips the offers have come down so I am basically phasing them out completely. Between the love from Wynn with the teaser and plan to seed CET a bit, I am not too worried. Plus always have great comps downtown at The D/GG.

Looking forward to playing VP downtown and the Chandelier Bar, as well as meeting up with @duffer1991 for some craps action downtown!

As part of your CET experience, be sure to give Cromwell a try. Unless things have changed recently, best table games available on the strip... single 0 roulette, 100x odds on craps, and 3/2 BJ is the norm not the exception. Great dealers too. I've also won some good money on the 5credit $5 WOF machine back in the high limit area.

Got to the Wynn about 9pm last night. Hoofed it over to Mirage to checkin to our burn em room. They didn't have a king bed as reserved so front desk gave us 2 queens and 100 extra RC for our troubles...SWEET for a room we are not going to stay in lol.
Played thru our freeplay in the HL room on a 10 dollar Top Dollar without a single line hit. Ok that lasted 90 seconds so we returned to Wynn with a quick stop at Walgreens.

What a view!!!! Love the bed!!!!

Slight hiccup at checkin where they only had 1 of our nights comped the other at casino rate and no record of the F&B credit. Weird had me worried but a quick phone call from the woman at checkin got everything corrected as I had the offer email saved. Always pays to check!

Enjoyed late night dinner for room service which was fantastic restaurant quality. And I love how they take the time to set the table and make a nice presentation.

Now as my wife sleeps in as I never can in Vegas, time to get some coffee!

The view from your room is spectacular! Are you in the 25-30th floor range? If you get a chance to head down to the casino in the early morning, do so as it’s amazing how quiet the place is. Can be peaceful to walk the floor with a drink and just relax while thinking how much you’re going to win today! Good luck.

Have a great trip at my home away from home -- Wynncore!

On a different note, I forgot about earning $100 in free play at The D with 1000 points. I think I will get the ACG and LVB books after all. I would pretty easily hit 1000 points + with the match plays there and elsewhere DT that $300+ in "free" BR. I'll use them during my solo trip in July.
