Nah, luckily I'm a pretty unencumbered dude; I'm able to live my whole life as a series of "what happens in (insert location) stays in (insert location)" so Vegas is just a natural extension of that.

I did lose the rental car one time! For over 24 hours.

I thought this was going to finish with, "so I tell my stories to everyone."

Like the guy that went to confession to tell the priest that he had taken Viagra and had an erection that lasted longer than four hours.
The priest says, "You should tell your doctor this."
The guy says, "I did. I told my doctor, I told my mailman, hell, I'm telling everybody!"

Ha ha, your post reminded me of two stories I have about parking garages that will stay in Vegas. I didn't even think of those two before!

Yes, it involved the old Barbary Coast. That's about all I will say.

Weirdly, this is a feeling I can relate to for a reason that doesn't exactly fit into this thread but I'll say it anyway. When I was much younger I hooked up with a girl I met at a bar and later discovered she was the daughter of a very famous figure in US sports. I have to toe the vagueness line here very carefully, but I can confidently say her dad is what you would call a "household name" for sports fans.

As with your situation... it was quite a contrast in perspective discovering a person's fame only "after the fact".

I’m in the group who says, “I’m not saying I have any such story, but if I did the story would have stayed in Vegas. If I had a story.”

Given the fact that you're Canadian, it's got to be Wayne Gretzky's daughter. If so, I bow to you sir.

Have one I can't share that involves me spending my entire bankroll at a seedy tiny strip club on my second night of 5 after being up for over 24 hours.

One I'm willing to share involves rental cars. Best friend and I got a rental and took the insurance for an extra $15 a day. Our motto for the trip was drive it like you stole it. We got a powder blue Ford Taurus with a 4 cylinder. From the moment we pulled out of the rental place we did a burnout and the pedal was either pressed all the way down, or we were braking. We were staying at The STRAT and the parking lot has(had) a LOT of speed bumps. We sped up for these and at one point you could actually hear the shocks let out what sounded like a hiss of air as we hit the bumps. When backing out of parking spaces we made sure to floor it as soon as we put it in drive, etc. The day after I spent everything at the strip club we drove to Death Valley. The car had a mileage computer like they do now and we could only manage 18mpg from the car. It was so sad. We drove it completely trashed down the strip a few times (I barely remembered driving, and my friend asked how we got back to the hotel a few times) The last day we went and had breakfast at the Frontier I think it was. We backed out of the spot and it took the car 10 seconds to shift to drive. When we returned the car we told them it seemed like there was something wrong with it because it had trouble shifting and got horrible mileage. Never did hear a thing from the company after about it.

To this day I won't even look at buying a Ford because of what we were able to do to the car in just a few days.

There are a million stories you could tell me about how you wrecked a car and I'd probably have more respect for all of them - thrashing any car over speed bumps is a pretty lame way of achieving what you did to be honest. And unless you took some long, convoluted route to the Strat you probably looked like Aunt Joan who hasn't driven since the '50's with all your stopping and starting.

I wouldn't expect someone who drives on the wrong side of the road to understand. Traffic was also different 15 years back than it is today.

Lame response really, probably because you know it was a lame story. I take it wrecking a care over speed bumps and giggling like a 15 year old who'd stolen his Mom's car made that somehow more edgy 15 years ago?

In many respects, I admire you for the fact that you think this is rebellious - it kind of shows us what a nice boy you must have been back then! ;):)

I definitely have a few, but the last time I tried to post about one the moderator locked my thread.
