Just curious do you people even stay at Caesars properties or do you just do this for the free meal and free show tickets?

Last time, it was a last minute addition to my (first) MGM-oriented trip, just like the comp room from Wynncore through the app was. I gambled a bit, but not as much as with MGM-properties. It was enough, apparently, to comp lower- and mid-end properties during weekdays (not CP, NOBU & Cromwell). Out of the properties offered, I liked Planet Hollywood most. So yes, I’m planning to have 3 nights at PH, and will orient all my play toward CET-joints those days. I will also have a cabana and spend money otherwise. I for sure would not qualify for Diamond by gambling, but could do it through spend.
I am Mlife Gold from 1 trip alone, only 20,000 short of Platinum and that is mainly (85%) through spend. So, I DO spend quite some money at the chain I’m staying in.

I must say, Caesars convinced me by offering Diamond to spend money there. I really liked the experience, more so than Mlife Gold if I’m completely honest.
This was only a little money spent/gambled the first time, will be more now and might even be more next time (my trip now is divided in 3 blocks - 3 nights at PH - 3 nights at the Wynncore - 3 nights in a suite in Luxor).

I would, apart from a visit sans plus, have not spent a dime anywhere with CET as I chose Mlife to concentrate my spend/gamble on on my first ever trip. If concentrated (say Diamond match didn’t exist), I for sure would be Plat at Mlife now and wouldn’t look back.

So, who’s winning. Me or Caesars?

I had never stayed at CET before last year when I matched diamond for the first time. All my gambling went to CET that trip, I spend $800 on a room upgrade (since it was my 10th anniversary) had a cabana and a few nice meals. If I didn't match again this year I'd very likely be staying downtown this summer so I assume on my limited info that this is a business decision that's working out for them. Giving me $100 off an overpriced meal, a set of show tickets to a show I was so unimpressed with I walked out and no resort fees definitely was a net positive for them on my trip.

I am loyal CET. I coin-in *maybe* $200 at other places over my trip.

I status match for resort fee waiver. This upcoming trip is nine nights. That’s a huge savings.

I missed diamond for 2020 by about 400 points....because I plussed and minused wrong.

I switched from Cosmo to CET after doing a match way back in 2017. I then "earned" (via play and promotions) Diamond for 2018. Increased my play in 2019, but promotions didn't line up with my trips so I didn't come close to 15k TC. I'll be back door-ing my way into Diamond for this year, and we'll see how close I can get to 15k. First trip was not off to a good start. I think I got 800 TC on a loss of $1220 at CET properties. I've also been splitting my play between CET and Four Queens since I collect Silver Strikes.

We use it to waive the resort fees. We end up staying at Caesars properties verses others because of this benefit. Ended up being 20 nights in 2019. Without the resort fee waiver it would have been less than 5 nights.

Just from the money you save behind resort fees alone, status matching is no brainer. The $100 dinner or free show tickets are kind of irrelevant in comparison to resort fees.

I like hotel hopping. I Stay 3-4 nights at mlife on a comp, then change to cet for a comp and then back to mlife on another comp. I did status match. And yes, i take the freebies, but on my play Alone I would never make diamond.

I always stay at Caesars properties. And I earned diamond through gambling in 2018. 2019 however, I was pregnant for much of the year, so just didn't get to Vegas nearly as often. So having this status match available is nice and I doubt I'll have much trouble getting diamond this year since with the eldorado merger, I'll have a couple of casinos nearby that will become Caesars.

I’m sure I’m not alone in this boat but...

before status matching, I stayed at random properties, would play here and there and wasn’t loyal to anyone.

now It’s only CET properties I stay at and make it a point to gamble only CET and do it more just to keep my status/ADP up for comp’d rooms.

That’s what a loyalty program’s goal is...convert someone like me who was throwing money around everywhere

Diamond is also no resort fee and cet is the easiest club by a mile to get up to 5 weeknights comped in a row as a low roller , so yes.

If my comps disappear again and I have better deals elsewhere that could change. But I was cet before the match

If I do status match this next trip, I'll do all my gambling at Paris while I'm staying there.

I only ram money through slots, and as long as the machine selection is good, so am I.

Find the outrage the whole thing creates quite amusing, though.

I do it for the $100 dinner, free shows, and no resort fee. Last trip the diamond line for a couple things helped a lot too (High Roller and GR Burger). Free parking is another thing. We most likely would not have stayed at a CET property as we get the resort fees waived with offers from Mlife and TI, but we did stay at Bally’s our last trip, the no resort fee was a big factor in this decision.

Marky - it doesn't matter which CET casino you play at. They all add into the same daily total. You will normally see 'better' offers (if you travel on an offer vs. just a comp) from the ones you play the most at. However that doesn't even seem to hold true all the time as now most all of my offers include Caesars in the mix & I don't normally drop much coin there. The hardest part I have is to make sure I actually track what I have earned during the day at each location since I don't want to miss out on a bonus by a few credits (I've done that before!). I track my starting credits, factor in the bonus from previous day so I don't count it as play by accident, then check my ending credits later. I also do try to write down how many I have earned at each to validate the totals. I earned Diamond through play and missed all multiplier time periods this year, so it was painful at times lol. With new place construction this year I may be forced to try to find a match if I can't get a couple of trips in.

    Amen to this

As for me, I just use the dining credit - no gambling, as it seems my play is much better-appreciated elsewhere. And I make sure to ask that my dining credit comes out of DJ’s potential offers! Seriously...

I did prob $1k in coin through at Ballys and Harrahs (I think) in the summer, and I'm now comped Sun-Thurs everywhere but Nobo/Caesars & Linq, for some reason.

I'm just quite lazy, in that I generally just gamble where I'm staying, and then head out for meals/shows etc. I don't even keep an eye on my coin in. I just play until I've had/lost enough. Or in some cases more than enough, lol. I'm bad enough at remembering to track my pills/vitamins, without trying that, too :p

I average ~ $2-2.5k a day in play over 7 day stays, and think I only did $6k at Nomad over 4 nights last trip. That still gets me offers at all MLife properties, and no RFs at most. If I end up staying at Paris for 5 nights, I'll give them all my action over the stay, and see how that pans out going forward.

I only come to Vegas during the WSOP usually, so it's hard for me to attain any level of status, and until recently I used to just pay for my hotels for the 3-4 weeks I was there. It's nice getting some 'comps', but Wynn definitely did ok out of me last month!

As someone who is a local its a no brainer for show tickets and the dinner and free parking benefits. The resorts fees are also huge because anytime friends or family come into town I play their host and they book "through" me so they get cheaper/comped rooms and resort fees waived. (and they get to think I'm a big hotshot because of the cool perks haha)

By his 900-year commitment to being salty about this, I'm guessing his offers are impacted.

I was a hardcore Mlife'r, since I turned 21 eight years ago. Host, 6 trips a year, and I never stayed at CET unless it was for a passerby one night and I didn't want to impact comps. But when Mlife started to tighten the noose so to speak, I decided to give CET a try. And their tier match expedited my switch. I got to immediately see what I could get, freakin' genius. No resort fees, free show, free valet, $100 dining credit, etc. If they come within' what Mlife gives in terms of RC then I'm down. Now if Caesar's doesn't keep it up then I'm moving on.

Now I've stayed with CET a few times since... end of last summer. Paris, Harrah's, Linq. Moving my way through their resorts.
