It is not the Big Game" to me. I do not have a dog in the fight so I have no interest. I watch football all season long, but I seldom watch the "Super Bowl" unless my team is playing.

 

I will be watching the Big Game this year, looking forward to eating barn fowl winglet portions and toasted triangular corn food products.

 

Including copious amounts of iced mashed grains?

 

They had the Pro Bowl last week.

It is all about the hype. When the game is finally over, I am glad the hype is over. Too many times, the hype does not much the game.

I call Soda Pop by it's first name: Soda. However, I live south of the Missouri River in Missouri, if you go to the otherside, it's called Pop. Go a little farther, ie: Iowa, and, in my experience, you get dumb looks if you ask for a soda.

I call the super bowl the super bowl, but don't remember who played, or won, last year. Hell, I don't even remember who won the National college championship three weeks ago.

It's all about the commercials anyway.

Coke- 7up, Pepsi, Coca Cola, Dr. Pepper - they are all cokes. I ask Can I get you a Coke? Then you need to be specific as to what you exactly want.

When we lived in St Louis, "soda" was more common but you did hear "pop" as well. I do remember one guy from southern Missouri or Arkansas or something calling it "so-dee water", and another guy calling it "fizz", but I don't remember where he was from.

And then there's Birmingham -- "Now down here, Pepsi is a kind of coke."
