I had a similar experience when booking online. I got the room, but my EasyPlay was not given as they say it wasn't in the system. I was able to get it by complaining to the hosts, but was a pain in the rear. Host said to just call when booking. While a bad experience still better than Mirage pit bosses forgetting to rate me in the system (was tipping to and am a quite player). Dropped 2k and little to know comps. Played similar hrs, $$ at Ceasars and I get all sorts of offers.

Reg. original post of them canceling, but offering room at another, I agree with everyone else, take the free room and use the 1300 to gamble. At least take the room, mobile check-in, mobile check out but don't use it (tie up their room), if you are still going to stay somewhere else. Actually best choice is to take a walk, cool off, read some of these posts and take their offer. Sucks that it happened.

Sorry to hear. Did you ask about the quality of rooms that were available at the other places?

I think the OP is entitled to react in whatever way suits him, including venting here. It’s probably very personal to him. Up until yesterday he thought he qualified for 4 nights at NOBU based on his casino play. To be told that he should contact them to make alternative arrangements at lower tier properties would be insulting. CET made the strategic decision to possibly lose his business. That probably stings, especially if he previously lost a lot there.

$1,300 is a lot of money for most but only OP knows if it’s a lot relative to his assets. It’s like $325/night and he booked it the same night that he got bumped. His money, his decision.

That is extremely frustrating, @Spudlink, but glad you found a resolution. It's an odd thing about the human condition that we all think our way is the right way. :rolleyes2: We only get one life; you do it the way you see fit.

That seems like a fairly decent enough deal for a hotel on a Superbowl weekend. (Heck they wanted $500 a night for March Madness at Flamingo--Flamingo!--one year I went -- I think it was around 2003 or 2004. I stayed up all night instead, heh.) Cosmopolitan is a nice hotel and they can be very generous on the back end for comps if you like gambling.

    THIS!!

You know if you got walked to a lesser casino less than 24 hours before your flight, you'd be pissed off too. And when you're pissed off at a casino, where do we go for venting and maybe a little empathy and understanding? Oh yeah! The Vegas board where people are going to second guess you and insult you because you made a split decision different from how they would have handled it. :nono:

There might have been a window to try to work the situation to get some extra freebies or a room upgrade, but that's not guaranteed and we weren't on the call. I don't believe in no-playing a comp, but that's another option. Another one is to stay/play at a different property, and that's what the OP chose.

Bottom line is from me is that we hear you, @Spudlink!! And we would all probably be angry too. This is more likely to happen on a big weekend when the larger fishies are coming to the pond, but doesn't make it suck any less when it happens to you. Hope you have a great trip and Cosmo and can put this whole thing out of your mind and enjoy yourself. :)

Ummm, the I guess we all have different preferences and different amounts of money to spend, but to me, taking a free comp room (or suite?) at Bally's vs spending $1300 on Cosmo are reasonable choices to be analyzed. One option isn't exactly 'being kicked in the junk'. Personally, I would rather save $1300 and use it on some fun shows food and gambling, but that's just me (and many others on this forum).

On the flip side, cosmo, especially a fountain room, is a huge upgrade from Bally and even from Nobu, if someone has the money.

OP -- enjoy your weekend! But I would still say your next trip, take your BEST CET offer, stay there, burn up all your RCs, and never look back.

I am doing the same thing with Mlife next week !!! My last "reasonable" offer, I booked a night at an Mlife property while staying at Wynn just to get the freeplay and resort credit. After a bad experience with 2 different Mlife hosts and overall dissatisfaction with certain Mlife properties, I am happy to say SCREW YOU to them!

If the OP is traveling with a "significant other," I can totally understand the need to spring $1300 for Cosmo rather than settle for Harrah's or Bally's. Different worlds.

As of right now, this thread has close to 2,600 views. OP is getting his revenge. Not a good look for CET.

Couldn't agree more! OP has a right to vent and handle the situation as he sees fit. Agree or disagree he's here to vent! The snarkiness and offensive way in which some of those who disagree with the handling of situation is beneath the purpose of this board.

When CET was taking Terrance Watanabe for $127 million several years ago, he'd demand entire floors at Caesars and those that had reservations got bumped quick. Just like those carrying higher level cards want to bump somebody lower tiered, the Casino is going to cater to the bigger fish. Or do you all never use your head of line privileges?

I guess, but in other news, and this is somewhat relevant I believe, but I've been playing consistently over my tenure playing at CET properties for the last 7 years - and slightly less on my most recent trip in November matter of fact- yet, I literally just got double the food and freeplay that I've ever received from CET on my most recent offers that came into my email last night. Granted this offer is for between March throughout the end of April, but regardless, since it includes MM, I can't say that CET is awful all around.

Frankly, what happened to OP could happen at any casino chain. To categorically blame one chain, while I understand the frustration in the moment, isn't reasonable. Then again, your choice so you can do as you please.

But no, this one anecdote most certainly won't dissuade a lot of people from going to CET. If anything, there will be more eye rolls than people falling in line going "we'll all show CET and stick together to take our money elsewhere!". Yeah, okay.

I get why OP is angry. I think it is fine to write off Caesars about it.

But I will note that this type of bumping will ALWAYS be last minute notice, and is most likely in a huge event like the SB. I would have at least called up and reviewed with them what other options they were offering. Nobu itself will only have so many rooms so if a last minute whale wants em they will get them.

But if you rate a comp for that on SB weekend, they may have been able to get you something pretty nice (a suite at the properties they mentioned or a room at Caesars/Cromwell but not in Nobu). Play it up and maybe you could get them to throw in something for your trouble.

I'm just thinking these places know that bumping someone could really lose them business, so when they do it anyway, its a quite big player coming in. So if they value you and you complain, who knows what they might throw at you to make you happy?

I mean, if they did it to me they would not give me anything, but I don't rate rooms at Rio on Feb weekends, much less Nobu for the SB.

What a lively thread with a variety of responses. I get why you are pissed and I'd be too. I also get why some people say 'it happens'. Ironically most of us go to the motherland to gambol. That is precisely what CET did in this case. They took a risk on not pissing you off. In this case they bellied up to a 6 to 5 table and to top it off made a shitty play. The end result is them loosing a customer and having you tell anyone that will listen what they did as well. Bad play CET. Good on ya if you have the coin to drop 1300 to stay somewhere else. Hey at least you don't have to think twice about your play since you aren't on COMP at Cosmo.

Go and have an awesome time and take some casinos money and never look back. Cheers,

I would be pissed too! Spudlink did what was best for him, and that's fine. Will be interesting once El Dorado takes over. I fly out of OC tonight at 915/arrive 1015. and staying at Ballys. My arrival time on my resi is 1100pm. I wonder if I will get walked to LINQ? No matter what happens, I will still be in Vegas for Superbowl.
