Sorry for your luck but that's how it goes on a busy time. Maybe you were bumped by someone that gambles bigger. At least they offered something else. Not what you want but it's something. I guess I'm not as demanding and grateful for the comps that I can get. Then again I enjoy downtown and get what I ask for there. Regardless enjoy your stay.

This is really a good option. Make them pay for your accommodations and play at Cosmo a win win for you and a loss for them. I know the poor employee that called probably had a pretty crappy day. Good luck

Give cosmo all that play, check if you can catch a back end comp, wait for an offer, and don't look back..
Pop over and smash them with your pt freeplay and laugh back in your nice room.

    JMHO
(was about to give CET another chance but haven't yet. on the fence)

Bump happens all the time, especially during busy time like this. Doesn't matter how early you booked.
Comped room implys that if a bigger fish need that room, they will give the room to him/her instead of you.
It's not just CET, other casinos do the same.

    Some people...

I’m now avoiding about 40% of the strip! Try to make a mess with MGM as well, and you’re down to a few.

I perfectly accept that they could do this to me on a comp. I’d be very happy if they tried to accommodate me elsewhere. Might even negotiate a bit for F&B.

Caesars Palace is the only CET hotel where my room was downgraded several categories at check-in due to whales pushing everyone else down. One of several reasons I don't usually book that property.
A big weekend with lots of big fish in town it sounds like.

It's stupid that they bumped you. Why would they take someone who would pay for a room and probably not play as much instead of comp'ing someone who will play more.
You have comp'd rooms at NOBU, on a crazy expensive weekend. You're not a whale at CET but you're not nobody. Why wouldn't they bump someone smaller or someone who paid and has little or no (gaming) history.
Doesn't make sense. I'd agree with you about never going back. I wouldn't. Mlife never bumped me when it was fully booked for a busy weekend because I play and there were for sure others beneath me.

This is one of the things that may bug me about CET, their lack of nice rooms. You basically have to be a massive whale to get their.... "suites and penthouses" while at Mlife properties they have so many nice rooms you're unlikely to get bumped or you'll get downgraded to something still very very nice.

Not always true. I got bumped from a suite at MGM to a West Wing Room at check-in. Easily the worst hotel room I've stayed in and by far worse than anything CET is offering now.

Oh man....You must have been furious!!

IMO the worst rooms of any major property on the strip.

Stayed there 5-6 years ago...Just awful.

They need to level that tower and start over.

I've been bumped down to west wing, too. Fortunately, I was solo at the time.

Downgrading a comp for us non whales happens sometimes and it's not unique to CET. I would have taken the free room at Bally's...free is still free and while Caesars is certainly the nicer property, the Nobu rooms don't appeal to me. I get offered them fairly often, but never choose them.

Isn't the west wing the old Marina hotel that was absorbed when they built the MGM ? Got to be some of the oldest rooms around.

Harrahs or Ballys is MANY levels under Nobu.... pretty much Motel 6 quality...so it was a joke to offer a room at either of those. Planet Hollywood or a regular Caesar's Palace room are the only CET hotels that would have been marginally acceptable to replace a comp at Nobu..

Back in 2011, Venetian rescinded comped Super Bowl rooms with 60 hours notice and offered their customers an opportunity to pay rack rate for the same room instead. That didn't go over very well then. A couple of weeks later, they announced they were ending all Comps except for their whales. Eventually they reversed that as they lost a lot of their loyal Grazie members.

Super Bowl weekend is either the 1st or 2nd busiest weekend of the entire year. Comps go by the gambling totem pole. The higher up the totem pole, the more likely to get a nice comped room on one of these weekends. For sure, last second room requests by whales or higher tiered players starts a chain reaction for the rooms. Many hotels have committees that review the high end players in for the weekend, and what rooms will be allocated to whom.

Best to avoid busy weekends if there is a chance you will get bumped, and have that ruin your weekend. It doesn't always happen, but it sucks when it does

Yeah, SB weekend in Vegas is crazy. My anger would depend on what exactly they offered me in exchange. If I got a really nice suite at Bally's, or one of the nice suites at PH, I would have been ok with it (not happy, but ok with it). If they offered me a standard room, then I would have been pissed.

My wife and I were supposed to be comped there in March of 2011 were told in February we could stay but we had to pay. Went to our old host at Caesars and have been with CET ever since. We were also LRFB and were going to be given $500/FP, remember it well and now they call us at least every other month.

I agree you are getting bumped because they got whales coming in.

What is stupid is that they did not take the extra 5 minutes to get you setup at another property. Telling you:

"Unfortunately we are booked up and can not honor your comp, but we have arranged for you to stay the (blank) during your visit." vs "Go away".

Superbowl is once a year. You are obviously a valued guest the other 51 weeks a year. Pissing you off and having you never come back is just stupid customer service.
