I had been away from Caesars for awhile, but recently went on tilt when I was staying there overnight for a quick work trip and accomplished Diamond in a Day (actually 25,000 points in one sitting). My 1 night play has caught up to me and I have some pretty nice offers coming up.

One of those offers is either $3000 freeplay or a $3000 Macy's Gift Card [these numbers are insane to me as I never saw more than $500 previously). I know that many would say take the freeplay and try to turn it into more than $3000, but part of me wants to take the gift card so I'm guaranteed to leave Vegas with something. Just wondering what everyone else would do in this situation!

Also, wondering what if any success you've had with getting your host to combine offers [other offers have better food and beverage incentives].

    Thanks!

Is there a bunch of stuff you want from Macy's? If not take the FP.

I would most likely take the Macy’s gift card since my wife would love it. I also like the idea of leaving Vegas with something.

This. What is 3 grand at Macy's worth to you? Do you have a big-ticket item they sell in mind? If not, probably take the Freeplay. Should save a LOT of bankroll that way.

Gift card. I'm sure I'll find stuff over time at Macy's especially gifts for others

Free play and run it through a low hold machine.

Well, that's the thing - I use Clarin's facial products ($85 for 2 ounces of moisturizer - ouch) and Macy's is great for gift giving. So, while there isn't currently $3000 of stuff that I need or want from Macy's, I'm sure I could spend it over time.

If the gift card was only Macy's, I'd take the free play, if it was a VISA (or other generic gift card), I'd take the gift card.

Take the free play unless you plan on shopping at Macy's in the near future. With the way things are going, they may be out of business.

I always take gift cards. Typically they are worth 90% face values.
For freeplay, you could get more, but you never know.

Assuming the dollar value is equal, FP is always the best choice.

That also assume you would play that much. $3k coin in is not really that much. You play like normal, but keep all the wins.

If you take gift card and shop online, go through the Caesars marketplace to do it and you get rc’s for every dollar spent. Want to say it’s 4 rc for every $1 spent but not totally sure.

That's some serious coin in for a short stay. $3,000 is a very sweet offer. I always take the free play over the CC offers but mine are only $375. In your case however, I'd take the $3,000 Macy's Card. Whatever you choose, enjoy it.

Unless you love to shop at Macy's, I'd take the free play. $3,000 is a lot to play on. Put $50 or $100 in different machines, play it and cash out. You'd be surprised how much you can bank up.

I won $1,000 free play at Gold Coast after a slot tournament. I turned it into almost $1,000 cash playing VP and low-mid volatile slots.

    Really depends on lifestyle, preferences.

I'd go for Gift Card. FreePlay gets pissed away... giving back to the place that gifted....

Lots o options for Macys. Furniture. Some indulgences. Next year Xmas shopping.

Funny how some say gift card,

Without a doubt, anyone that gets that much freeplay is putting double, triple or more than that through the machines. So, why use REAL money to do that?

And, with all respect to those that shop at Macy's - many of us do not, so they are of minimal value.

I think a lot depends on your current bankroll and whether you want the offers like this to continues. If your bankroll is the same and you're going to play as much as last trip then I think I would take the gift card to leave with something guaranteed. There are even places you would be able to sell the gift card online for actual cash, or trade for other gift cards.

However, if you need a bankroll boost I would take the free play and try to wash it on a low volatility VP like $2 5 play Jacks or Better. That would be 60 hands, which can be done efficiently and then whatever you cash out can be moved to your regular bankroll to play at the same level so that you can generate a similar offer. Whenever I have had significant freeplay, I play multi-line jacks or better and cash out anytime I am dealt a paying pair or better.
