Just got back to DC. Man I’m having a bad time as I realize vacation is over and I have to hit the office tomorrow. Upsetting!!! But another wonderful Vegas trip. It was my 5th time and still discovering new things and enjoying the “classics”

I lost my whole bankroll but it was up and down so it happened slowly over the trip -$400 so not as bad as last trip which was -$1000. Also, Unc won quite a bit and he’s usually unlucky so I’m fine taking the loss.

I’m a happy gal as I was finally able to go to the neon museum, had food at some of my favorite places, and played some of my favorite games with some of my favorite people.

Until next time Las Vegas! Miss you already. Time to book the next trip....maybe some comps will come in the mail soon as we racked up plenty points!

Hope to stay at Circa next time or if we come sooner than the opening, the Cosmo or Aria. Let’s see!!

So, last night was awesome! I started off by picking up my mom her favorite wine and a plastic cup for it from CVS, super economical! We were waiting for my MIL/FIL to arrive at Eataly from Ballys, so we got some slot play and drinks in. I have to say, a few years ago I hated slots and would go on rants about how they are the worst bet in the casino and so on, but I have to say they are fun, a small investment compared to my level at table games (I’m a low roller At the tables, but a micro roller at slots, sticking with 40-80 cent bets). I think playing slots more may have helped me pad my bankroll for the last night.

For dinner, we had a pasta place in Eataly, and seriously I think it was the best pasta I’ve had in my life. I don’t know much about “gourmet” pasta so I let Mrs. Bourbon order for me (I also was really feeling all the drinks we had at the slots!). I wish I got a pic of it, but when I remembered my dish looked like this....

After a great meal, Mrs. Bourbon and I were itching to gamble, and instead of our usual Uber downtown we decided to focus on the Park. At this point, my bankroll was ridiculously intact, with about 80% remaining. That, coupled with liquid courage and final night sadness, we decided to play at higher limits than we usually do downtown. First we sat at UTH, $10 min. Honestly every 4x hand was a huge sweat, and I was feeling a bit weird with my in laws seeing me buy in for $200. Luckily, it had gone my way, and I left with this:

    004E91FF-15D3-46BE-ACDC-16221EC54A9E.jpeg

Feeling great about the win, Mrs. Bourbon went to play some slots, my mom went to play 3 card, I decided to sit at the 3:2 $25 min blackjack table. Almost immediately my $300 buy in was being shredded, until I pulled a miraculous run of cards to be up about $200. In my head the little voice that says to cash and leave came up, which I promptly ignored, put out a $50 bet, split, doubled, and lost. To me the rapid pace of the game (just me) and the much higher stakes (usually a $10 player) were a bit too thrilling, so I decided to join my mom at 3 card.

I normally avoid most side bets, but since they allowed $5 pair plus on a $10 min, I decided to play it a decent bit. I noticed Mirage and Park MGM both allowed this, which is smart on their part, as otherwise I wouldn’t play it at all (probably still the best policy, but sometimes the thrill of the big hands is fun).

We had a great table, and after a fantastic run, I was up on the trip

Note I only brought $500 cash, with an additional $500 I could potentially withdrawal. This made me so happy, as I have not been so lucky at recent casino trips!

After this, I bought Mrs. bourbon and I into uth, where we promptly lost. After this, she headed up to bed, but I was determined to finally play pai gow poker, so I sat down. The table was a $25 minimum, which is normally comfortable for me, but I was the only one playing so the pace of play was fast. I was able to bank every hand, and it had saved me once on a tie! I went in for $300, and the session immediately went sour. Most of my hands were Ten to king high pai gows. I couldn’t get anything going, and was down to one $25 chip when finally my luck flipped. I generally play a progressive betting “system”, so I up my bet a bit on wins. I was able to finally get a massive $100 bet there, which I lost and called it quits with $250 left and unfortunately headed to bed on the last night.

My mom left early on our last day, and my MIL/FIL rented a car to see Hoover Dam and Red Rock, and will be taking a red eye back. After getting checkout sorted, we had about 2 hours to gamble, which we decided to start with 3 card poker. And this session went amazing, winning every hand and upping my bet to $25 from the original $5 I started with. Finally, the hand I posted earlier came in:

    62AA8AD0-BE43-4184-93D5-28CF2AC92805.jpeg

I also want to shout out Susie, a super fun and amazing dealer.

At this point, I’m feeling great, up $160 or so on the trip and ready to protect my win. Mrs. bourbon and I decided to low roll some slots, with us getting a fun heidi bonus. Unfortunately, the devil took it back from us.

I had decided, you know what, I’m going to shoot for the fences and put $100 in my nemesis, top dollar. I was in disbelief when the $700 offer came in!

    E04C5DC5-F95B-4D12-A103-7D3A055CB32A.jpeg

At this point, I convinced Mrs. Bourbon to play some more 3 card poker on my dime, which we cashed out $25 from. I had decided that I was going to go for a huge shot, and put $100 into $5 wheel of fortune.

    3C554AD1-FD0F-4151-96DF-8FC620E18838.jpeg

Yeah, no luck there, but worth the big shot!

I took one more hundred, where we tried double top dollar again, which got us back to even.

Finally, I put it into the planet Moolah slot I really liked, played at a higher bet and won absolutely nothing. At this point I decided to protect the rest of my win, and we headed to the airport.

This was an amazing trip, and even more so because I had a winning trip. I don’t really mind if I lose, but this kind of win has been a long tine for me, and I am really happy about that! It may make it easier to sell the next trip to Mrs. Bourbon...

Also, I am really happy my in laws loved it. At first I could tell they weren’t sure, but as the time went on I think they really began to understand and really start to enjoy themselves!

I played two new games: video keno and free bet blackjack. Keno was pretty easy going but on the flip side the thrills seem few and far between. Free bet was a lot of fun, and I definitely want to spend more time on it next trip.

I will update this trip report with a final recap, including charts and stats. Based on the spreadsheet I am working on on my phone right now, we gambled about 14 hours this trip (significantly less than last, closer to 35 last time). Unfortunately, I need to go to work in the morning so I have to go to bed now!

looks like everyone had a great trip,
so impressed with your bankroll control,
specifically taking it easy in the front and hitting the gas into a winning close (mostly?)
    I should learn from this..

It's so hard not to go hard at the jump, but maybe the "hosting/tourguiding" helped put the brakes on it.
Maybe, it's this karma thing, about you working hard to show everyone a great time..
Hope it happens our next trip..

    Great TR!

looking forwards to the next ;)

I learned the hard way when I used to go hard right at the beginning and accidentally use 3/4 of the trip bankroll on day 1 lol! Hosting definitely helped. Good luck on your next trip!! I look forward to the report.

Just a recap of some of the stats I had promised. Going to share some graphs I quickly put together.

In the following you can see how my bankroll progressed vs. minutes gambling for the trip:

    one.PNG

Day 1 was a short gaming day as we were tired, and clearly we got a lot of time in day 3 when our tour guide duties were not as necessary.

    two.PNG
Graph two is the money won/lost (the green bars, and green axis), and the time played (red dots/axis) at each casino. Park MGM seemed to treat us well, and we spend a lot of time there! Golden Gate and Cosmo come in at 2nd and 3rd for time played, which went in line with my plan to focus on those two + MGM casinos!

    three.PNG

Finally, a breakdown of money won (bars/green axis) and time played (red dots/red axis) by game. Time played is close to equal between slots and 3 card poker. Massive hits ($700 top dollar and SF at 3 card) really made up a majority of winnings. The largest lost was the $200 high limit shot I took after the big slot win. It was worth it to me to go for it, but this could be seen as a place I could have kept my upside further up. Surprisingly little play on blackjack and UTH this trip, always next time! Also, interestingly Pai Gow Poker ended up being my third most played game, owing to my long session on the end of the third night.

Let me know if you guys like stuff like this, I will be sure to incorporate into future reports, and post any other data cuts that people are interested in. I want to thank you all for reading our report, as we had a lot of fun making it, and really enjoyed sharing it with the board. Tentatively, the next trip may be for my birthday at the end of June, hopefully at the Cosmopolitan! Thanks everyone!

Was the hot tub you tried at Park? (Need to know if I should toss in a swim suit for my upcoming trip!)

It would have been even sweeter if you played the 6 card bonus bet, since the dealer had 3 Diamonds as well.
