We must have caught the Aria buffet on an off night. I can't remember if we went last June or October, but it was awful. They were severely understaffed, and every dish tasted like they used double the salt. I might have eaten one and a half plates vs. my usual 3. I generally don't complain too much about food (I'm pretty happy just to be eating) but both my fiance and I thought it was bad, with a couple items being borderline inedible due to the salt content. Hopefully that was just an off night.

I vote for Bellagio, the last 2 times I ate at Aria the food quality was poor and the waiter cleaned and reset my table while I was getting food.
Bellagio always has excellent Crab legs and that is what I go for.

I have to admit that, while I recommend the Aria buffet, that sorta-happened to me at my first visit to Aria too.....

At the end of my meal..... I had taken dessert, eaten almost everything. Had also taken a small bowl of their dessert popcorn. Went to get one last cookie, returned to find my table cleared, including the popcorn. I just chalked it up to understandable mistake, as they'd cleared mostly empty dessert plate, and it was a safe assumption that I had finished.

My tables being cleared occurred with full glasses of beverages and my knife and fork in a x pattern on my salad plate, which means do not take this plate.
My used and empty plate was on the corner of the table away from my seat.

I like the food better at Aria and I think it has a larger selection. Last time I was there the service was kind of slow. Took forever to get my beverage refilled and then coffee. Understandable if they're really busy, but they weren't. Bellagio has self serve beverage, which some don't like, but I do.

Happened to me a couple of times. If possible I leave a jacket on the chair backrest. Or if dining with someone we do the penguin technique. One stays back while the other goes foraging for food, lol!

Does Aria have self-service soft drink stations? I only ask because it really irks me when I get seated at a buffet but have to wait 10 minutes just to order a diet soda. I know Bellagio and Mirage have self-service drink stations; just wondering if its that way across all the LV MLife buffets. Thanks.....:peace:

No self service beverage station. But in 2 visits, drinks were served very promptly

There were some special drinks at the salad bar when I had dinner. Really liked a lemonade made with coconut water. There was also a watermelon drink.

Was looking for buffet ideas. So may look into Aria. Or we were thinking Wynn.

I prefer Aria as well. I certainly don't think Bellagio is bad by any means, but Aria has more interesting stations. The poke bowl station is fantastic, they have surprisingly-good soup dumplings for a buffet, the naan at the Indian station is usually great, and I really like the desserts despite not being much of a dessert person. Both can have lines that are long to the point of silliness, though, especially on holidays, though it's certainly not as bad as Bacchanal. And I admittedly haven't been to Bellagio in about a year.

I always worry about this when I'm dining solo. My usual strategy is to leave my messenger bag, along with my sport coat on the chair, but take my phones and tablet with me. That way it's enough stuff to indicate that I'm still there, but nothing that can be easily swiped without the cameras being able to pick it up (and it's not like either of those things are worth much, though I have a couple trinkets in my messenger bag with sentimental value).

Aria did not have self-service as of my last visit. But I find this an interesting comment -- if you look both here and across the internet in general, people complain frequently about self-service drinks at the buffets as a sign they're getting cheap, they're trying to cut service, etc., but I feel exactly the same way. I tend to drink a lot of Diet Coke when I'm at buffets, and I'd rather just spend the 30 seconds to get up and get another one myself, than wait for someone to come around. It's not like they're bringing me the food, after all. I wouldn't want to get my own drinks at Picasso, but at a buffet, I'm totally fine with it, if not in favor of it.

Wynn has one of the best looking areas for a buffet, the flower(plastic) display is great. We don't stay at the Wynn anymore as Aria (mlife) does better with comps. I have nothing bad to say about Aria's buffet and they have a great selection om meats. Service for drinks have never been a problem and you can jump line with a higher tier players card. We usually only do breakfast or lunch there. I have not been to the buffet at Bellagio.

I had Aria buffet Sept 2019, Jan 2020
    Had Wynn buffet May 2018, Sept 2018 x 2, December 2019.

As of Oct 2019... I would havevrated both excellent, given a slight edge to Wynn. After December Wynn and Jan Aria, I'd give slight edge to Aria.

I was disappointed that, after 14 months, Wynn still had same fare, even at specialty made to order stations.

I'm a big salad and veggie guy... Arias spread is much more interesting.

And I'm a fish/seafood guy.... and the poke station at Aria actually got better from Sept to Jan, with a few more options. Cooked fish dries out quickly... my perception is that Aria puts out fewer little plates/bowls/dishes at a time, So they're fresher...the Wynn was well stocked, but many fish dishes were hammered by the time I tasted them.

Upon reflection... Aria could serve tuna noodle casserole.... and if the poke station was there, I'd still give it the edge.

Hey now, don't go hatin' on the tuna noodle casserole. It's a midwest staple. :) Next you'll be bagging on the runza!
