Food at Park MGM

We are breaking out of our 5 year Delano habit (thought not because we don't love that place) and going to try to Nomad.
Tell me about your favorite places to dine at Park MGM. We ate at Crack Shack for lunch last trip and walked through Eataly which I'm excited about. Do you like the other restaurants there?
Going in mid March, so pool isn't important, but will be wanting some good dining, going to Picasso for Hubbys' B-day but would like to eat at PARK the other two nights/lunches.

 

Primrose is good for breakfast. Heard good things about Bavettes and the Korean restaurant.

 

bavettes steakhouse is awesome. Great cocktails and atmosphere I know it’s blasphemous but they got a good burger their.

 

I enjoyed Best Friend (Korean). I like Eataly for quick service breakfast. Haven’t tried Bavette’s Or Primrose yet. Maybe this trip.

 

I've walked through Eataly a number of times, but still haven't grabbed anything yet. Primrose has a pretty solid breakfast. Their pancakes are like actual cakes. Really big and filling. Eating out by the pool is nice as well especially earlier in the morning when its not too busy. I've also hit up La La Noodle 3 or 4 times since it has opened. I've always had a good meal there.

 

Last weekend 4 of us went to Eataly. 2 of us split this charcuterie board and a bottle of Sangiovese, one of the girls had a flatbread pizza and the other some sort of pasta that had prime rib or something like that in the sauce. Everyone loved what they ordered plus we all got tastes of the other dishes. The charcuterie board was the smaller one and it was more than we could eat.

 

Bavette's food is great, service not so much. Don't bother with La La Noodles, I was very disappointed with their dishes. La Pizza and La Pasta in Eataly is great. One point to note is that the kitchens for the pizza and pasta are separate and they don't coordinate dishes for the table. So that means the pasta dishes may be served at a different time than the pizza. Crack shack is great. I hear great things about Best Friend and Mama Rabbit. If you like gin, Juniper's bar is amazing. Oh and you should try NoMad and NoMad Bar too.

 

I've had great service at Bavette's. It may not be the fastest, but it is thorough and a welcome escape from the casino vibe. Primrose is also great for a drink and earlier meal. Best friend is also very, very good. Big portions, though, an always leave feeling like I could roll down LVB. I'd recommend all of these highly, especially if staying at the Park.

One thing Id want to try... Nomad has a namesake restaurant and bar. Haven't partaken, but they score high on appearances and atmosphere.

Bavette’s is a nearly perfect classic steakhouse.

Juniper cocktails have an amazing presentation.

 

And also my favorite fried chicken in town. Highly recommended. The space is fantastic, and the service is top-notch, one of my favorite steakhouses in Vegas (and I say this as someone who doesn't even eat beef). I also like that they don't over-gouge on sides like others do. It's really a fantastic venue, and I love the food. Just make sure you time it to avoid when the big shows are letting out, because you might need/want reservations.

I'd also note that La Pizza is kind of finicky about their dishes. The dough and the ingredients are excellent, but at least as of last summer, they were explicit that they would not make any modifications to the pizzas unless you told them you had an allergy to a certain topping. Even if they had it right there, I was told that "the chef has a very specific vision for his offerings" so they wouldn't change anything.

Their food is great but I've found the service to be highly questionable. I went there once, nobody was at any of the registers. This was on a holiday weekend afternoon. I stood around looking perplexed for a bit, and I was not the only one who seemed confused whether they were open. A manager eventually came over to ask if I needed something. I said I wanted to order food (you know, like at a place that serves food). He responded that he'd see if he could find someone. The menu is great, but I'm not sure what their deal is in terms of staffing.

 

I checked it out too, but nothing really caught my fancy and from what I could see, it was relatively expensive for what you get. For that kind of $$$, I would rather do something like Bootlegger or Chicago Joe, both which are probably cheaper.

 

Another vote for LaLaNoodle.

Is LaLa Noodle located where Dragon Noodle used to be during the Monte Carlo days?

 

neither was I and I like to think I am a connoisseur of Asian cuisine...

 

I'm not a connoisseur of Asian cusine, but I know what tastes good (to me) and the Dan Dan Noodles at LALANoodle were not it. The dumplings were tasty, but way overpriced. Just wasn't impressed, for that money, I'll go to Morimoto over at MGM.

 

Besides the great points made earlier about the great F&B at Park MGM, i would recommend the burger at Moneyline sportsbook.

It is expensive $15 but its damn close to the Bavette's cheeseburger sans the great fries. If you cannot wait for the cheeseburger at Bavette's this is a great alternative.

 

Bavette's is one of my favorite restaurants in town. we have always have good service there, it is not overbearing service like some other places. They give you time to breathe while having your meal.

we enjoyed Eataly for a quick snack with a glass of wine.

Was not too impressed with the Nomad restaurant. Food was only OK, not great
