The only two NEIPAs I will seek out are M-43 produced by Old Nation out of Michigan, and Le Jus by a local brewery (Alarmast) which won the GABF gold. I'll do a one off with my brother in Vegas (mostly Revision pours out of Reno, occasionally a HopNuts pour), but it is not a style I seek out. There are good/great NEIPA beers out of Vermont / the North East, but I have not had a chance to try.

Bell's, Sierra Nevada and other large brewers are trying to meet customer demand with these offerings, but most will be mediocre at best.

I live in Colorado and we have many GREAT NEIPAs
We get Old Nation once in a while
M43, Boss Tweed and DDH M43. Good stuff.

Never has the Le Jus but would like to!

Do you have any Colorado NEIPAs you recommend? Will seek out if available. Sad I had my last Boulder Brewing beer in Chicago earlier today, they are no longer distributing after the end of this year.

Weldwerks in Greely, Outer Range in Frisco and Knotted Root in Nederland are my gold standard for NEIPAs. Weldwerks distributes cans to liquor stores in Colorado. Knotted Root just opened 7/4/19 and have limited can distro in Colo. Outer Range only sells cans at Brewery.
Odd 13 distributes out of state. Most of the bigger breweries are late to the game and are only ok for that style.
    California has some great NEIPAs
I had a draft of Pure Project s Fingers of Gold at Khourys in Henderson yesterday. (Also picked up cans of Moonrakers Low Viz and Revisions Glitter Moon at Khourys.

777 has replaced their Cherry Porter with an Hibiscus Blonde thingy. I didn't like it. The Rye IPA was still on. To get it comped there are only some servers that use 777.

On Weds MSS's BHB still had a 6 pack of Space Dust stashed in one of their coolers.

So MSS's beers average about 3.6 and the beers you selected average about 4? That doesn't really seem like the difference between 'mediocre' and 'excellent' imo.

Not certain why you continue to "throw shade for no reason", but there is no further point to discuss this with you. I stated the pours were better, let the consensus ratings state the obvious and quantify the consensus opinion across beer drinkers who took the time to rate these beers. MSS' beers don't measure up to the three regional / national beers quoted in my post above. The difference isn't a few one hundredth of a point, but rather quite significant.

If I find a MSS pour that I would order again, I'll report back to the board after the trip. I am still waiting after several trips to MSS/777. Thankfully, there are good brewers and bars nearby with better options, or I can order a Stone IPA, Space Dust or Lagunitas IPA while waiting to find a solid pour at 777. I'm good either way. In the meantime, enjoy your MSS pours, they should still be there when you return.

Side note to this thread, as it is the only beer related thread that I know of on VMB, it appears that Ellis Island has expanded their selection of brewed in house beers. Someone posted a link to the drink menu for The Front Yard and it included an additional 7 beers to add to their regular line up of 5. I've never really been impressed with EI beer but will give these a try when I am there next month. I love a good Rauchbier!

Are all of them comped while playing?

No reason to think they wouldn't. I plan on finding out next month!

If the front yard has gaming available, which I sort of doubt.

They have VP machines at one of the bars. @notfromconcentrate posted a pic in his most recent trip report.

Being that I'm from Maine and completely spoiled with amazing beers, it's the biggest concern I have for my upcoming trip in February. It's been many years since I've been to Vegas so I was happy with Coronas and Blue Moons in the past lol .. btw, we don't call hazy IPAs NEIPAs here, they're just considered IPAs and DIPAs ..

Just to update, The Frontyard at Ellis Island does have a VP bar. While playing, beers are comped. The expanded list of beers though, is only available in The Frontyard. Elsewhere in the casino only their regular offerings are available according to the bartender. Two new beers (rauchbier and Pils) I tried were really good too.

Good to know about EI. I like EI but have never been a fan of their rather tasteless beer offerings. Hopefully the new beers are a step up.

Rather than repeat what was in the first post of this thread, I am just going to do some updates.

MSS: Trippel Seven has 2 rotating taps that now include a Stone collaboration Double Red and a Dark IPA. There is no gambling at the bar, but some floor servers use this bar and can comp these beers. I'm not a dark IPA fan, but liked the Stone collaboration.

QQQQ's: Chicago Brewing's rotating tap is a strong Belgium Trippel. They did not serve it in the 22oz glasses, but it wasn't a snifter either.

GG: Still has Bell's Two Hearted and Stones Delicious IPA. Have added Founder's Breakfast Stout. They also have a Pale or Golden that I haven't tried. The more interesting taps are in the center group. The 2 outer sets have a plethora of standards like Heinekan, Guiness, Shock Top, etc

D: nothing has changed at Vue Bar. The Long Bar has more choices than the bartenders can memorize. I'd need binoculars to be able to read the taps. I settled on a Scotish Ale.

The Founder's Breakfast Stout is my new comped favorite.

Breakfast Stout is such a great comp for downtown. It's been almost 2 years since I've had it. [emoji33] But I'd snatch it for free in a second.
