Baller or Degen

I’m going with Degen. It’s gross. And let me be clear, not everybody is as considerate as members of this board who have the manners to clean off grease, crumbs, and to THROW AWAY their trash after eating!!

However, if this guy was eating off the room service cart (like it’s a table), then I’d have to go with Baller! “Excuse me sir, but do you happen to have any Grey Poupon?”

 

Just too much hassle, lol. Also, I was alone initially, which was why I chose the machine. Then someone came to sit next to me, which also contributed to my decision to quit my attempt at multitasking. I'm pretty sure nobody wants to be watching some lump eating Pad Thai, while they're chasing handpays @ $5 a spin

 

Pizza, Burgers = Baller/Degen
Egg, Bacon and cheese burrito = Fucking gross, don't sit near me...

 

@Marky147 - I hear brother! I didn’t finish my soup. I felt too self conscious eating at the VP flat top in NYNY HL cuz I know many of the slot attendants there.

I tried wolfing it down but it was too hot. Wasn’t staying at NYNY so I couldn’t escape to properly eat in a hotel room. Started off looking like a good idea but those are the kind of bad decisions made at 1:30 am.

 

It's definitely too much hassle, and the only thing I'll be eating while playing now are cookies with my hot chocolate.

I can't even use alcohol for an excuse, as I almost never drink anymore, lol.

 

Also a great breakfast burrito..... I've done that more times than I'd like to admit.

 

I would say ordering food while playing at a machine or table is baller.

After all, we degens know that a human can go without food an average of 21 to 40 days......

I haven’t ordered room service, but I do enjoy having lunch while playing VP at Chicago Brewing Company.
Occasionally it even pays for itself!

 

Yeah, I’m kinda leaning toward “trash” rather than the options presented!

 

@CtheWorld - what’s your technique? Left hand for eating/right hand for VP? Or I dunno just enjoying my favorite things, VP and lunch. No utensils?

 

I’ve eaten at Chicago Brewing and at the Parlour Bar at El Cortez. El Cortez launched game-side dining when they outlawed smoking in the restaurants. Now it is better service than you generally get in their restaurant. As to the question of how do you eat and play: knife and fork or fingers for food, knuckles for the VP machine. Whatever it takes to keep those comped beers coming.

 

@FullPay can you share how the El Co game side thing works? Playing BJ, Craps, VP or slots? Finger foods or did you have the prime rib? Little cart like @nostresshere suggested or full on room service cart?

 

I’ve only eaten at the poker bar, they have little wooden trivets to hold your plate above the machines. The cart is large enough for two plates with those aluminum toppers. On the floor they leave it beside the gambler. You just have to get someone’s attention (bartender or pit person) the bartender hands you a menu and makes a call and someone shows up to take your order. I don’t think it is the full restaurant menu, but I’ve ordered chicken fingers, burgers and club sandwiches. They’ve even split orders and brought two plates when I share something with my wife.

 

Aren't the new slots located in giant cabinets nothing but a dinner table with a screen and game attached? I'm a baller, albeit a baby one. I've eaten froyo, McD's fries, a cookie, a smoothie and a Snickers bar at one time or another. I clean my hands with Purell. Eat with one hand and press buttons with the other. Easy peasy! lol

 

I've seen way too many slobs eating at machines to consider it anything but disgusting and classless.

Two exceptions: A bag of M&M's while pouring portions in your mouth directly from the bag.

Can you order those chicken wings to the single deck BJ tables at EL Cortez? That might be awarkward or a great way to mark the cards.

A few trips ago at Cosmo there was some guy and his wife or girlfriend playing the same bank of slant top slots in high limit every single time I walked by over the course of 4 days and there was usually a room service table in there.

Someone told me he was a euro soccer player.
