This is trivial, but sometimes trivial things stand out on long trips.

Which resorts have the best TVs in the rooms?
Of course, I am not flying across the country to watch TV. Rather, I just want to avoid a hotel that has bad TVs.

I have stayed in hotels with TVs that have bad monotone sound, strange menus, weak cable signals, no remote control, and so on. It is annoying when there is no Weather channel in the morning or Golf channel in the evening.

There is something about the Golf channel, maybe the lush green landscapes and hushed voices, that is very relaxing after a long day.

Cosmo, even in the base City rooms, have massive flat screens. Not sure what the actual size is but it's huge, and sounds pretty good for no real speaker setup. And yes, Golf Channel.

Agreed on Cosmo, AND they have Netflix built in (you use your own account). I know I know, why watch tv, but it’s nice to have if you want it!

1)When's the last time you visited Las Vegas?
    2)Where did you stay?

Most of the Strip and Downtown hotels have been renovated in the last 5 years. I have made 50 trips in those last 5 years and never had a problem that was specific to that TV set and resolved quickly with a calkl to hotel services.

The issue isn't so much the TV itself, but how the TV receives its signal. I've stayed in many hotels with nice TVs, only to have them use coax and have a non-HD picture. HDMI cables are inexpensive, so there's no excuse.

No idea how many have Golf Channel.

I would agree most of the strip hotels have decent TVs these days.

I'm a fan of watching the hotel channel! a few years back Luxor played a promo with Carrot Top showing the property. I think it was on whenever I was in the room...

My last two trips were 5 and 6 days, I don’t think I even turned it on.

Wynncore has a pretty nice swivel television in the bedroom/living room area and a in-mirror television in the bathroom area.

The only issue I've had with a TV in a hotel in recent memory was last summer when CBS and whatever provider were having one of their stalemate p*ssing contests and the local CBS channel was dark. I realized that it would be a fool's errand to try to complain to the desk about it. TVs anymore seem to be incredibly reliable and have consistently good picture and sound.

It is one of the things I instinctively check when I first check in to a hotel, just to be sure it works, and if it doesn't I can scream at them during the day, instead of when I stumble back to the room at night and find out there's no picture or something.

    The only hotel channels I've ever seen could be summed up in one word: SPAM! Oh, sometimes they do show the keno board. {twirling index finger}

I'm hard pressed to remember the last time I stayed in a hotel without a nice flat-screen with the usual assortment of cable channels.

I'm past the point of referring to TVs as "flat screen" - now they are just TVs again...

I would say just avoid NYNY, I seem to remember them having very crappy cable and the TV was small (30"~) compared to room size.

    We're getting spoiled!

When I was young I can remember the day when we got a new big 21" **COLOR** TV!

Then as a young adult our main living room TV was 23" and I thought it was big.

I remember my first time staying at The Wynn and hearing Steve's dulcet tones talking to me from the TV.

A TV might or might not be turned on, but it is a necessary decor on a Vegas resort room, it would seem. A TV should work, have lots of channels, good picture and good sound. Watching TV in the room in Las Vegas is a wasteful luxury most of us probably do not indulge in, but if it must be turned on it is nice if you can watch it comfortably from different places in the room. I like it that Encore has a TV that can turn 360 degrees, so it can be watched from the bedroom or from the living room.

No one travels to LV to watch tv, but it is part of most people's daily life. I always have a banana along with water and coffee while watching morning news, just like home. In the afternoon I'll have a wine or scotch while watching afternoon news, again, just like home. I've also used the tv to take a break from a bad streak or to watch a special show or sporting event. I don't gamble twelve hours a day, so I've got no problem watching something decent.
