Table Games High Card Flush

Anyone play this game? Not sure how popular it is. So far we have seen it at Orleans, Aliante, and at Red Rock.

We're not sure if it is available Downtown, but definitely not available at the Boyd properties there.

The game is easy to learn and play. Was just wondering what people think of this game and if there are more of this type of games being offered in other than the properties listed above.

We were just playing this game at home for fun. Never played it before but it seems that the game involves more luck than anything else than any type of strategy involved.

For those who have played it what are your thoughts? Thanks!

 

I have seen it and understand it. However I am not the ones who like these carnival type of games. I personally will stay away

 

The first time I played it I got a hand that paid me something like $600 for the side bet, so of course I think it's great. I'm sure I've given the $600 back plus some extra since then!

 

Yeah, I figured also that this game can be grouped with carnival type games.

 

We played the game just for fun, using our poker chips. My SIL went online and printed out the lay out on regular paper.

It seems when you get a great hand you can really rake in the chips. Otherwise it's just a slow drain of your buy-in. The straight flush bonus can be a drain, even if you just play it for a dollar, lol!

But it was fun so I think I will try it for real next trip just for shits and giggles.

 

I have played this for years in LV, Laughlin and AC, I have won many $thousands and lost just as many $thousands on this game, but will keep going back to it as you only need a 4 card straight flush from 7 cards to get paid 60 to 1, and on a $25 side bet that's a very nice $1,500 pay day.

 

Love this game. I won $2500 for a 6 card flush in December at the Wynn. Does anyone know if the Venetian has this game?

 

I like it. Bally’s usually has a $5 table weekdays and some weekends, same with Paris and Planet Hollywood.

 

That's my game, besides Pai Gow (face up Pai Gow) and UTH, I like to play High card flush. It's available at all Mlife and CET properties and it was available at Wynn also.

Got a six card including a four card straight flush before the holidays (at my local casino), that alone paid 4K+ but indeed, you may win many $thousands and lose just as many $thousands on this game... Darn 10 of Heart... (it would have been 25K)

 

This is perhaps the easiest game to teach a table game virgin. Very minimal skill/strategy involved - don't need to know how to play poker, just need to be able to separate suits and count lol.

 

I looked into where this was played Downtown when I was last there beginning of November. All I could find online was that the only Downtown casino to have it was the Golden Nugget. (I can't confirm as I never went in).........

 

By the way , check out "how to play" on the Wizard of Odds site.....there is a simplified strategy that works out similar house advantage to a single wheel roulette for the basic wager, but of ourse as usual, its those tempting bonus bets that drain your money !

 

I found it at the flamingo and sat down to play and then realized I shouldn’t play this game while very hungover

This is great! My SIL really likes this game and we played for fun at home. I told her I would go play with her if we can find one. My wife and I will hang out with the BIL and SIL at Suncoast and Downtown next month.

We know there is games at Orleans and Red Rock but wasn't sure if there was any Downtown.

Plaza has it at $5 as well. Played it there just a few weeks ago.

To the OPs query on VMBers thoughts on the game: I’ve played this game a few sessions for the past ten or so trips. I’ve done fairly well. My thought on this game is that you’re really only going to make decent money playing the Flush and Straight Flush side bets. Even the three card SFs can keep you alive and the four card SFs will make you a winner for the session assuming no rebuys. I don’t like the Flush bet because you need four suited just to break even.

Here is one good hand from a couple of years ago. Five card straight flush and a six card flush. Seventh card had already been discarded. I didn't bet on the flush, which would have paid 100 to one but I did bet on the straight flush which paid 100 to One. This is the best hand I ever had. Typically this game is hit and run for me. Even if I only get a three card SF and the winnings bring me over my $100 buy in I'll walk. These little SFs happen with surprising frequency. The four card SFs happen enough to keep me coming back for more. As mentioned in another post a four card SF pays 60 to 1 and will most def turn a $100 buy in into a winning session. If I lose my $100 buy in I walk. If I ever get above my $100 buy in from a side bet win I walk. For whatever reason this game has smiled on me through the years, lots of those 60/1 payoffs on four card SFs have made a lot of my sessions profitable. Fun game indeed, but if you burn through your buy in I'd recommend cooling it for a bit and find another game. I've seen people play at the same table for hours hoping for that one big flush or straight flush with no luck. I just try to catch lightning in a bottle and if I don't get it I'll only lose my initial buy in and then its time to take it on the arches.




Very easy game to learn and the dealers have been great in helping make sure that I'm not discarding any cards that would help me.

Good luck to the OP, you'll more probably than not enjoy yourself at High Flush Draw.

 

Hi Mike, thanks for your input on this game. We want to try playing it for real next month. My SIL played it on her last trip and I guess she did hit one of those bonuses enough to now being hooked! I want to try also. We played for fun at home and like you said it is easy to learn.

I did notice that you can win lots of money or experience a slow drain, lol! Like anything, just gotta be lucky.

Question: Is the game called High Flush Draw? Or is this another game?

I really enjoy the game. My first time playing I had a 6 card flush so I won several hundred dollars on a $5 bet. As others have stated though, I am sure I have given all that back then some on this game. But I will keep playing it.
