D Push on 22 ACG/LVA is no longer being honored

Looks like the D Push on 22 is dead.... didn't even make it two weeks into 2020.

Wonder why they killed it so early into 2020 and just didn't opt out of the new books? Someone asked on the LVA board a few days ago but it's crickets from the staff.

 

This is just my opinion, but I think it may be a gaming regulation violation. I remember when the Longhorn stopped accepting the Free Ace coupons last year and the rumor was that it was something along those lines. Who knows? I’ll try to remember to ask next time I’m there.

 

Very astute opinion...one word makes your case: “”can” no longer” indicates someone else besides management ultimately put the kibosh on this. Too bad, but of course, “gaming integrity” trumps customer satisfaction every day.

 

Guess it's possible but that coupon has been in the LVA book for 5+ years now. Strange that it would suddenly be a gaming violation?

 

Anthony Curtis at LVA says it’s definitely a gaming commission decision, made after the 2020 books went to print.

 

They did the same thing with the Motherlode machine at Binion's. As soon as they got the complaint from the gaming commission, they put the machines out of service. I think casinos have a tendency to not want to get on gaming's bad side so they bend over backward to appease complaints.

 

I was able to double on 12 SIX times with my "push 22" coupon last year, and each time I won the double without hitting 22. That was a sweet run.

"This isn't the D's doing. After the MRB went to the printer, Nevada Gaming Control told them they couldn't offer it. The D argued but was turned down. We don't know exactly why Gaming disallowed it, but we're hearing that it's either because they think it alters the game or affects taxation. Either way it's a BS move from an organization that's supposed to look out for the players, yet can't get out of its way fast enough to OK things like 6-5 blackjack and side bets with excessive casino edges. Will comment more if we find anything out."

 

I absolutely loved this coupon just for this reason. Getting dealt a 12, doubling and watching the look on every other player's face, agape because they don't know what you do...that you have a 'Get out of jail free' card should you pull a ten and hit 22.

 

The worst part was the number of times that I was dealt a 12 in a relatively short period of time.

 

I was able to use the 2020 LVA coupon on Jan 1. It was definitely an awesome coupon to have. The one thing about it this time that I didn't remember from using it last year was that it was for $25, no more, no less. I had used it when I had a $30 bet out and they said they were only able to let me keep $25 out of the $30. So, not sure how it would work if you lost in a double down situation. I guess we won't ever find out unfortunately.

 

I used to love using the Push 22 when I had a $25 match play with $25 in regular chips out. I was able to rescue both chips with the Push 22 card.

 

There's a big red "VOID" stamp on mine.

 

The D wanted to offer it, ACG/LVA put it to print, and Nevada Gaming Control nixes it? LOL kinda makes me want to send those coupons to Nevada Gaming Control and ask for compensation, as ill-advised as that may be

 

I asked the boothling at The D. He said they were discontinued due to potential fraud. Methinks he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

 

Eh. That could be what the higher-ups told them. This excuse shifts responsibility away from them and onto the 'fraudsters'. It also sounds better than "Oops, we f'd up and forgot to run this by gaming control for years and they got pissed."

In Illinois, several casinos have fine print at the bottom of all of their promos/events that says "Pending IGB Approval."

 

What was the Mother Lode machine? A quick search didn't bring up anything except there was like a Mother Lode kiosk thing. Was is that?

I think they disallowed it because every variation of a game needs to be investigated, odds determined, and licensed by NGC. If you did Blackjack with a joker that would be a different game and need to be licensed. Same as if Blackjack had an extra ace. Since "Push on 22" radically changes the outcome of the game it would have to go through the proper licensing channels. That's really expensive so easier just to drop the issue.

I can't explain why they had this for years though and only now it gets flagged.

In reality, it issued typically $5-50 in free play or food comps. It was a nice little reward for playing there. A complaint was filed against Binion's a couple of years ago with the gaming commission that the game was rigged because regular players had not not seen anyone win the $2,500. Binion's put the machines out of service when the complaint was filed and eventually just killed the entire promo.
