What do you alway pack in your suitcase, that some might consider strange?

I don't think that I pack anything strange. LOL For me, it's pretty normal to pack a travel size surge protector/plug multiplier, an extension cord, flashlight, first aid kit, a few plastic trash bags, some of those paper clips like @flyguyfl showed in his post, pepper spray (it's legal when packed in you checkin bag), a travel humidifier (works with bottled water), as well as my Sonicare electric toothbrush. LOL

In my carryon backpack, I have a bag of cables/chargers/spare batteries, a modular tripod/monopod/selfie stick, a repair kit w/extra parts for my prescription glasses, tire pressure gauge, and an empty sports water bottle.

 

Several others have said binder clips and ziplock bags, so I guess it's not as strange as I thought.

Pack of Post-it-Notes - many uses - most recently I made a handmade DND sign when I discovered my room at the D didn't have one at 2AM as I was passing out.
TSA legal corkscrew - never know when you might have a wine emergency

 

Those babies are so worth the investment in the aftermath of hurricanes or any other prolonged power outages.

 

Insulated shopping bag/tote. Easier to carry heavy liquor bottles from Walgreens. Gallon size ziplock bags for ice to put in insulated bags for leftovers. Makes a nice little cooler. It’s also comes in handy for a tote for to go orders or doggie bags.

My sister bought me this last Christmas Trader Joe insulated bag. Works great. I love getting practical gifts that i actually use. It is my favorite shopping tote.

 

Going to Biloxi soon and packing some decaf Keurig coffee containers since the Beau Rivage added those coffee pots to the rooms.

 

I use a fan app on my phone and it works very well!

 

Clown mask, mini trampoline, and feather duster.

 

are they in all the rooms? do they give you enough coffee?

 

This adapter and HDMI cable stay in our bag. We connect to hotel TV to watch shows we have downloaded. Or connect to phone to stream shows and watch on room TV.

Supply of ziplock bags and corkscrew never leave the bag either.

How 'bout trying to use this bag as your personal item?

 

Wax burners, usually 3 or more.....The small kind that go into the outlets, and a nice variety of waxes.

I thought it was weird af when my wife started doing that several years ago, but, I didn't take one on my solo trip to AC, and man I really missed it.

Especially since the room/"Suite" , my host put me in @ Harrahs smelled like a combination of old people farts, cigarettes, and bad decisions.

 

interesting but if there was a fire wouldnt you need to evacuate your room and the hotel as quick as possible or do they sometimes tell people to stay in their rooms?

 

The placards on the door will usually tell you to wet a towel and stuff it in the bottom door crack if you are unable to evacuate.

I will usually note where the fire exits are when I check into a hotel that I'm not familiar with, and if there is any question I will check to be sure it's a true insulated stair tower.

Having been through two "actual" fires in the building I currently work (one food left cooking on the stove top in the lunch room, the other an "electronics issue" in a lab area) I always take fire alarms seriously and get out even if I'm sure it's false.

 

I forgot to add that I always have a remote controlled plug in outlet in my bag. That way I can turn the fan on without getting out of bed after watching tv. Lazy is my middle name.

 

I'd be afraid to use this bag...don't want to get "searched" at the airport.

 

Wow. I'm so 'normal' it's boring. I just pack the clothes I have to wear and I don't over pack. I keep things minimal so that it's easy to get around and the luggage doesn't become a schlepp. There's nothing I can't do without for a few days without missing them.

 

Brita filtered sports bottle, immersion heater and door stops.

 

Latex gloves, ziploc bags of lye, collapsible shovel. Dead strippers aren't going to bury themselves.

 

Doubt any of this is unique: refillable water bottle(s), corkscrew/church key.

Golf clubs aren't such a common occurrence here but they are for me. I've taken my bike to Vegas a few times, that is unique, I'm sure. (That one's not a fly thing.)
