Wow, classy they are bringing up full size porta potties . Those in the construction field that have worked high rises surely have come across the infamous “half shitters”. Nothing like having everyone see you dropping the boys off at the pool!

Binions of old. Roped off black jack tables and guards with guns that gave the appearance of having no issue using them.

I can't believe the project is over 50% done. I'm AMAZED. I was just there last year when it was just all rubble!

Can’t wait to see it live in 12 days. Really want to stay there when they open. May need to have that discussion with my host this trip.

It's tempting to say that Binions will be the next mismanaged downtown property to go, but that could still be years away. A lot of different people and organizations own pieces of the land under it, so it'd be an logistical nightmare trying to buy up every ownership share, not to mention expensive. Circa's opening might bring a small amount of nostalgia-driven traffic through their doors too.

Still, it's sad to see Binions going the way of LVC. A shuttered hotel tower, no money for asbestos remediation and remodeling, their legendary status as a poker destination is gone, a dwindling customer base, and the back of the casino is just a cobbled-together ramshackle of t-shirt racks and temporary exhibits. They could restore that wasted space as a poker room or a good old fashioned showroom and promote the hell out of some old school nightclub acts, but their management is about as forward-thinking as Tamares was while they were running LVC into the ground.

Any reports on the construction noise? As we are at the halfway mark - has this helped to lessen the noise at all? Do they continue to run operations 24/7 still?

I was at MSS last week. They didn't run 24/7 every night but they did run them every so often. I saw them working on the parking structure so they were pouring the floor day and night until they finished that floor section. Noise was sort of loud on those nights (mostly beeping of the trucks backing up) but I think they only worked through the night 2 or 3 nights out of 7 nights I was there.

And the main building was dark most of the nights.

They already starting putting in the glass windows in the lower floors, I can see them in the area facing main st.

At one point today, the Plaza roofing crew enjoyed their lunch on camera.

...also, nice to know the Plaza is keeping up on roof repairs these days.

Walkway over Main Street going in. I was watching in the middle of the night last night and saw them lift the first beams into place.

It's crazy how fast this walkway is going up. They must want to keep the street closed for as short a time as possible
