I like linq. Rooms are a bit smaller, but nice and clean. Never enjoyed the pool though. For some reason I do enjoy the fragrance they pump in there too! Cant beat the location much like Harrahs and Paris.

I like Linq casino etc - very comfortable with the redo. However the rooms feel like ‘Ikea’ to me. I’d choose Harrahs - my room when I stayed there was fine (other than being over CC lol!).

Of course I like Paris so our tastes are probably at opposite extremes. Another nice option is Bally’s. Several good stays there.

I don't think the rooms compare with Harrah's. Linq rooms were done very much on the cheap. Clean modern look of cheap...like IKEA. I do like their casino, which is less smokey, but it's almost connected to Harrah's. I would never stay at Linq over Harrah's.
But I've stayed there to make my comparison, you haven't. Go ahead and stay there so that you can make your own assessment.

Edit: funny how @jgates8 also said it reminded him/her of IKEA. Also, I, too, like Paris. Similarly, I like the rooms better at Bally's but I like the casino better at Paris but they're connected so it's an easy play.

I believe Harrah's just finished a big renovation, so their rooms are likely to be nicer; Linq's rooms are fine, but nothing special. However, the Linq's casino floor is head and shoulders above Harrah's, in my opinion.

Havent stayed at Harrah's yet but will later this month. As everyone has stated the rooms at the Linq are smaller and compact but still nice. Somewhat Ikea-ish but still feel nice. I also agree with the casino. One killer for me is the elevators, they are terribly slow and a deal breaker for me.

I've stayed at Harrahs and Ballys; never stayed at Linq though I've walked through it several times to go between Harrahs/Flamingo. Rooms at Ballys are great, but I did not like the casino nor the location. My personal preference is Harrahs - let the bashing begin LOL - mainly for it's location and EVERY time I have been there I had a clean room.

This is one of the most informative Vegas message boards and I have learned A LOT from here... one of the best tips is as OP stated - do it yourself and formulate your own opinion.

My personal preference = Stay at Harrahs and just walk to the Linq. Let us know what you decide and about your experience on your return.

Linq generally attracts a younger demographic than Harrah's. Linq has more of a modern vibe and feel whereas Harrah's is geared towards the older demographic and is a bit worn, although I haven't stayed there since their last renovation. One negative is that Linq has gone "eco friendly" (aka cost savings in disguise) and done away with the bottled shower amenities, so you have to pump the shampoo/conditioner etc from their containers mounted on the wall. Personally I doubt they do a good job of cleaning those things.

I actually think Ballys location is quite superb and totally underrated. It has access to Paris via the passageway without going outside and you quick walkable distance to Caesars, Aria, Linq/Harrah's. Though if it was a choice between Bally's and Paris, I'd go with Paris due to the theming :p

I have not stayed at Harrah's for a few years, but have sworn off Linq after my first stay last fall. My room choices were "noisy" (above Carnival Court or the poot) or view of the other tower (a slit of sky visible). As mentioned, you share your shower soap out of big containers and there is the tiniest of ice buckets (I was constantly visiting the ice machine). To get to the elevators, you are funneled thru a mass of people (time share included) trying to access the deli and general meet up area. And the elevators.....there are no quick runs to or from your room. There is a "back set" which involves more walking through odd areas.....
BUT, I love Paris and Bally's is a close second for me, so you may find Harrah's or Linq works well for you.

    So has Harrah's.

I've recently stayed in both hotels (within the last 3 months). Both of the standard rooms are in the small side but Harrah's is a little bigger. Both are renovated. The pool... well, meh for both. Harrah's casino floor does look a little dated but plenty of tables, slots, and VP machines, and much bigger than the Linq. The Linq has a newer floor with bright lcd lights and screens inside with newer slots but limited VP. Better food options at the Linq, especially with the promenade. I suggest, as someone else already has above, to go to the property you haven't been before - the linq and if you don't particularly like it, Harrah's is just a few steps over.

I have never stayed at Harrahs but have stayed at the Linq a few times. The one thing that I'll add to the comments is that there is very little drawer and closet space. So, depending on how much you pack, it can be tight.

I've stayed at both, but solo. Liked both for different reasons. Harrah's because the Valley room was a little bigger and just redone. Linq because of the casino and the rooms have a fridge.

As others have said, give Linq a shot because you've never tried it. If you go with Harrah's ask for the Valley Tower. They are redoing the Mardi Gras Tower and there could be construction noise.

They are next door to each other, so if you don’t like one, just walk on over. The LINQ is a youngish crowd, I prefer Harrahs.

Is the whole tower open now or are they still working on the upper floors?

I prefer staying at Harrah’s and hanging out at the Linq. I do like VP at Harrah’s as they do have a non-smoking bar next to the food court.

One more note, the cell reception at the Linq's Rideshare pickup driveway is terrible. If you use Lyft/Uber, you may have problems getting service while standing at that pickup circle. Not a problem over at Harrahs.

Coin toss. Linq is closer to the Flamingo Pool.
