Have a two night stay (about $100 per night with my offer) coming up at Aria for wife and I. Just got an email to upgrade to Resort Club Lounge Room for $50 per night.

I would like to hear from anyone who’s been in that lounge to see if it’s worth the upgrade. Note that I will not substitute a dinner for the lounge offerings but would eat breakfast there. Thanks!

    Personally No.
But I go Solo so its REALLY not worth it, for 2 people mmm o_O .
If you stay in the hotel for the full 2 days without going anywhere else then yes it probably would be useful.
I wasnt impressed with what was on offer, when i ventured inside the lounge, after taking the offer at checkin last year and promptly canceled it after the first night

Depends on how many meals you can save by eating and drinking in the lounge. The rooms are the same as basic, just higher floor, the lounge is in an awkward location off the casino floor and has limited times with limited food choices.
I would say though that their coffee is much better than elsewhere at Aria (except SB) and the breakfast in the lounge is okay.
So for two people who eat breakfast and go the SB $50 is well worth it.

Definitely not the type to stay at same hotel all day. We hop all over gambling. Wouldn’t eat dinner there either night and we don’t usually eat breakfast but would in lounge. Definitely would take advantage of multiple coffees and a few drinks each night.

Can you take drinks to go from the lounge?

For the $50 night I would see if they will upgrade you to Tower Suites.
It is a separate lounge near checkin.
Free coffee ,water, soft drinks and snacks through the day, plus you get a bigger room.

I *love* the tower suites but have not used the resort club lounge. The only thing I'm hesitant on when it comes to the two choices, is food/drink options. The resort club lounge MIGHT have more options, based on their website. Tower suites, no alcohol, but more importantly, more "snacks" than small bites. Resort club seems to cater to more substantial "bites".

Tower suites will be a better room, but the resort lounge seems to be marketing to food/drink options more than room.

Bottom-line, I used to laugh at $50 a night for an upgrade.

    Crazy!

But buy two coffees and two bananas daily at Starbucks and pay $20? All day access to something like the resort lounge, for better options, I love.

Fyi love the tower suites' room, but what I REALLY love is the lounge, and having snack/drink options.

I'd consider it th resort lounge or tower suites' lounge upgrade!

Ps how are the room cards coded? Aria is pretty savvy. I'd love to be able to take my tower suites' room key and break into this lounge. it's technically cheaper, but has more impressive food options!

Multi,Thanks for the link ,it a solid description of what they are selling.
I stay in Marriott change hotels about 60 nights a year and that reminds me of what you get on the concierge(lounge) level of their hotels.
When I'm traveling solo the Resort Club lounge might be a better choice as I usually take advantage of the breakfast food at Marriott.
I would always choose the Suite the when I'm not alone. Plus the Tower Suites always provide a more quiet room with more insulation from hall noise.

BTW looks like I'm just gonna miss you at Aria later this month.
    I land on the 30th.

We did the corner suite a few years back.

We had access to the lounge directly across from checkin.

I don't think I would pay $50 a day for access to it.

    Pros
    - access to the water, sodas, coffee and tea
    - private washroom right off the casino floor

    Cons
    - small and we often ended up sitting with people which was awkward.
    - the food choices other than breakfast pastries was really awful. they had the same cold pasta for three days in a row.
    - they have an employee that just stands there and stares at you the entire time you are in there. it's very strange. i believe she was filling up the drink fridges but otherwise it was like being in a library or something.

The other lounge sounds like it offers better food, the photos make it look likes it's much bigger and the happy hour would be nice. I would probably shell out for that one.

I'll be honest I never saw any of that quality of food when I visited, I was most disappointed and canceled it the next day.
I could have just been unlucky in my timings but from memory I went in 3 times in the space of 24 hrs and was totally underwhelmed. :rolleyes2:

I went ahead and accepted the upgrade via email. Reservation officially switched to Resort Club Lounge- King Room, but balance due did not increase and under Room Options it says "Resort Club Lounge Rate ($0.00 per night)" I wonder if I got lucky or if I will just get charged upon check in.

I could also deselect Resort Club Lounge Rate under Room Options as it should not mess with actual room reservation.

Right there with you Nittany on preferring the tower suites room-wise! I especially love the Floorplan with the bathtub in the corner glass. I just was really surprised how much more robust the resort lounge choices seemed to be, BUT that's what you're paying more for, not the room. (Though @CJ's and @BarelyHangingOn 's insights were very helpful, maybe it's not as strong as it looks online.)

For me I'd always prefer the tower suites (love those rooms, all of the Floorplan we've had), just was impressed with the menu at the resorts lounge, but based on feedback, it might not have as many offerings in the really world.

Yes, we ARE just missing each other! I'll warm up the machines for you! Have a blast Nittany!!!!

When it comes to Aria, I consider the room much more important than lounge access. While it's nice to have the lounge downstairs for soft drinks and such, there's a CVS five minutes away. If it were a location like Mandalay Bay that'd be one thing, but at Aria you can easily get all the sodas and snacks you want for far less than $50/night, and not even have to leave the room more than once to walk over there.

This thread fascinates me. I've been to five MGM properties in past 18 months. Returning to Aria for sixth stay, second stay at Aria, next week.

Not once have I received a room upgrade, club-level offer via email in all of those stays. Ive been offered $50 upgrades to view-rooms when I asked about upgrades at check-in. Got upgraded to Atelier at Nomad last month. But never even a mention of club or concierge levels at any property.

Now I'm curious.... arriving ARIA in six days

We have always had access to whatever upscale lounges and VIP services Bellagio, Aria and Wynn offered, and we have appreciated having access to a refuge stocked with drinks, current newspapers, snacks, comfortable furniture and excellent service. As everyone knows, places to sit down and relax for a few minutes on a break are pretty much nonexistent in most casinos. Still, we spend very little time there and I don’t think we’d pay a surcharge (even though I have no doubt that we are very much ‘paying’ for the privilege of access). For me, an occasional, water, coffee, oatmeal cookie or Diet Coke just isn’t that big a deal, but I do like having a place off the casino floor without returning to my room.

Still, I’d recommend that you pay the difference and use the amenities on this trip to find out for yourself whether the experience is worth it to you. Some people get more use than others, and you might love it. If you don’t try it, then you’ll never know and “worth it” will still be an unknown to you.

$50 for the resort lounge access (for 2 peeps) is a good deal - even if its just for breakfast and an evening tapa. Definitely a good deal if staying on-site most of the trip. The offerings (by far) trump anything in the sky suites or Tower lounges. Had access to it a couple times and used the heck out of it. Mainly morning coffee/grub and for the beverages (would take back to room for mixers). I recall the OJ being freshly squeezed and a crab cakes that were especially good. We are usually in comped suites so I inquired with desk about adding to other rooms. You can but the cost varies. I was able to add it at check-in in November for $65 a day. Tried again in early December but it was $125 a day so I passed. Also add that they have someone looking up your name to validate access AFTER you get into the area with your room key.

I had an issue at ARIA today... nothing major, concierge was great in helping me. While there, I asked a bunch of questions

One question was "they told me at front desk at check-in that the Resort Club Loung is $100 per night. Read online, in a message board, its $50 a night. Which is it?

She replied that its $100 weeknight and slow weekends, $125 most other weekends. (I think they probably price by demand. I'd guess SuperBowl weekend is more.) More than 2 guests, there is additional fee.

When I replied that $100 wasn't good deal for me as solo visitor, she responded that it's full breakfast, snacks throughout day, dinner time "heavy hors d'oeuvres" and complimentary drinks. I'm curious, but still not a good idea for me solo.

She also clarified that Tower Suites Lounge and Sky Suites Lounge remain, are separate, etc.

FYI, off topic, I was trying to see menu online for breakfast choices, and saw postings that ARIA Cafe is closed. OpenTable says permanently closed, although its clearly open and operating today. Asked the concierge, she said one level of Cafe was taken over by the Resort Club Lounge and the entire Cafe will close in next two months or so.

Trigger: I think there maybe a misunderstanding. We were discussing the price difference when booking a room before you head to Vegas. If the price differential between regular and resort room is $50 or some argue it is worth it. The free standing price (adding the resort room privileges to a room when in Vegas) was always as the concierge quoted you (and never a good deal).
