    My Trip Report

It's been 10 years since I last took a trip to Las Vegas with my husband. October 2009, we stayed at the Rio ( $25/night, no resort fees), saw Penn & Teller, and played a lot of VP at the Gold Coast.

This will be my 9th trip, and I'm excited to show him what's new (Cosmo!), and hoping he has a good time. He's very much a low-roller--yes, you could catch him playing a penny slot one penny at a time. He once made $10 in free play last an entire afternoon of gambling at a local casino.

I've got reservations at Le Cirque for Sunday, at 5pm, so we can have the pre-theater prix-fixe menu before seeing Zumanity. Lunch reservations for Estiatorio Milos for Monday. Other than that, I'm hoping we can:

*Visit downtown -- lunch or dinner at Le Thai; see the new Fremont canopy; $5 craps & coin-in VP
*Catch the Saxman Duo: Saturday and Sunday from 3 PM to 6 PM inside the Piano Bar at Harrah's
*Hit the Cosmo food court - Hattie B's or one I haven't yet tried
*Bellagio Conservatory – Saturday is the last day before it changes, if I read correctly
*Live jazz in The Underground at The Mob Museum. Password: Old Fashioned 1/4: Dame Madelyn 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday
*Have breakfast at Bouchon or Eataly or MAG
    *9FI in NYNY

He's always said NYNY is his favourite casino hotel, so when I saw I could get two comp nights on our proposed dates, I jumped. Airfare was a bit more than I wanted, but we had to leave not too early and get back not too late to accommodate the kids.

As usual, I will aim for a live TR, but with company:), it may or may not work. We'll see!

Please do toss out suggestions, or tips on what I should show him.

Have a great time! Sounds very much like a trip I would plan. I always enjoy a little downtime in NYNY in that store "Stupid Idiotic" lol. Kinda silly but there seems to be something for everyone. He might like a trip to the SkyBar at the former Mandarin Oriental now Waldorf Astoria, near Aria. Pricey but unique, especially in the evening. Have fun!

    Boarded and about to depart!

Skybar is a great idea-I’ve been wanting to go there. Adding to the list.

The plane has Oceans 11 so I’ll be set for in-flight distraction.

The Sweetie needed lunch so we are grabbing some pizza at NYNY. Then VP and drinks before wandering over to Bellagio.

    Hi @julia aka miss_sonja!

Parts of your trip are similar to some places we’ll be doing later this month!

DH favorite is Le Cirque so we’ll be going again, would love to hear your faves there! My faves are the risotto and either paupiette of sea bass or the prime beef tenderloin.

    Wishing y’all a fantastic time!

We slotted around a bit, played some VP, and now off to Eataly for gelato.

This is very different from a solo trip!

After gelato, We took the tram from Park MGM to Bellagio. Browsed the conservatory. Loved it! The scale of the structures just doesn’t come through in pictures. It’s truly impressive.

We decided to head back to NYNY via the Strip, to take a break. I showed him Cosmo and we had an early dinner at Hattie B’s. Spicy chicken-yum! They had a delicious red ale from Jackalope brewing(?). Slow wander back then the Sweetie went for a nap and I popped over to Excalibur hoping for a $5 craps table. No such luck but there was a seat at the bubble craps machine where I lost money very slowly. Before coming back to the room I lost money quickly in a Godfather slot. Argh! It sucked. Tiny wins and never got the bonus. Worse than Heidi.

We’ll head out again for some evening activities.

I’m hoping for $5 craps in the morning. Anyone know if the Tropicana has tables that low?

After a luxurious sleep-in-no kids here to wake us up-we had a simple breakfast at Eataly. I love LaVazza for coffee and croissants. The egg and bacon one is a perfect breakfast. The Sweetie liked Eataly as much as I do.

We then proceeded to lose $ at Park MGM. I played Dragon Drums my new fave, GoT, found an older slot Pharoah and got a fun bonus, and lost lost lost at VP at the bar. At least had a Campari and soda!

We wandered over to Excalibur hoping for a $5 craps table but made do with the bubble craps. Taught the Sweetie how to play and he happily left even after about 20 minutes and a rum and tonic. I played a while longer, then we split up with him wanting food and a nap and me wanting more gambling:). We found an old favorite-Dolly Parton! I love that you can choose from several of her classic songs to play during the game.

I went over to MGM. It is way too big. But they had my beloved Sherlock Holmes machine which I have only seen at Cosmo! Played that, Heidi & Hannah and Dragon Drums. Left MGM down a bit. Back to NYNY where I lost on Quick Hits, won a big bonus on Tarzan and won a bit on Heidi & Hannah.

Down just a little for the day so far thanks to the bonuses.

Tonight is Le Cirque and Zumanity.

4B445548-8A89-46FD-A584-F2D433F9EC63.jpeg I just checked in and the Sweetie is still napping!

I’ve walked over to Eataly hoping for a tasty pastry but they were out of my faves. I did find what is probably the healthiest snack I’ve ever had in Vegas, in the Italian grocery section.

They sound exactly like my son and daughter...can't understand me, it's like I'm speaking a foreign language most of the time, but...If I'm not fixing a meal they miss me and I'm their best friend.

I game exactly like your husband...if I can find a 100 play machine that let's you play one hand I'm just fine. People watch and the occasional weak drink and I'm in heaven

Invasion of... robot bartenders! Two cocktail waitresses have told me they have robot bartenders now and are limited in what they can make! They seem a little frustrated about it.

I’d bet a fiver on the Seahawks and we found out at dinner that they’d won. So for kicks I placed a bet on them for their game against Green Bay.

Ah, Le Cirque was amazing! The Sweetie glanced at the prices and was, shall we say, uncertain. However I assured him this was a gift to him. He ended up loving every minute and insisting it was totally worth it!

We had the pre-theater menu both for the price and the shorter dining experience since we had Zumanity at 7pm.

Here is what we had. It was all amazingly delicious and I would go back.

    Smoked salmon amuse bouche.
    Salad and hamachi for apps.
Steak and sea bass for mains.

Blood orange sorbet as palate cleanser.
We both had the Asian pear dessert.
Final treats-macaron, mixed berry jelle and apricot marshmallow.

We drank water and agreed later that the extra flavors of alcohol would have been overkill.

Loved Zumanity. I used the show seat selections sticky thread to choose seats and they were awesome.
