The best jazz bar I know of, by far, is the speakeasy at the Mob Museum. Phenomenal. But, they're downtown and only have bands on Thu-Fri-Sat. (And probably only hopping on Fri-Sat). You can get their full schedule by going to www.themobmuseum.org which will tell you who's preforming when. Fantastic interesting drinks along with the speakeasy music. DTG has a free shuttle from the Fashion Show mall (get their schedule on www.downtowngrand.com as the DTG is only a block away from the Mob Museum.

Tuscany (walking distance from bally's) has live jazz/standards about 7 nights a week with no cover charge.

There's also a place called Ron decar's event center that occasionally has live jazz.

There is a place called the Dispensary Lounge on East Tropicana that advertises jazz. I have not been there but am planning on going. Their website is thedispensarylounge.com.

Is House Of Blues still around? (Don't know, I'm asking.) :)

I second the Tuscany Suites. Go to the registration entrance and it's right there opposite the Italian restaurant. There's a dance floor too.

House of Blues is very much still around, and is one of my favorite concert venues in Vegas, but the concert hall itself is not really a "blues" joint. They do have some blues/jazz/soul acts, but their upcoming events include Santana, David Lee Roth, a Judas Priest tribute, and Everclear. The last act I saw there was Andrew McMahon, who's a pop/punk artist (he used to be with Something Corporate and then Jack's Mannequin). I'd check their calendar, because they definitely have blues acts, but it's not their main genre.
