I met a redhead, dated her for 6 weeks, flew to Las Vegas, married at the courthouse....

We got back from Vegas a couple weeks ago. This time we were there celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary.

Met my guy in Vegas in August of 1999...we were both on vacations from different states (me from Maine and him from AZ) and had no intentions of starting any sort of romances...and no we didn't do anything more than kiss that weekend. We were both sharing hotel rooms so it didn't seem prudent, plus he was pretty clueless to my advances but that is whole other story.
We exchanged email addresses and phone numbers and kept in contact.
The next month he cashed in his frequent flier miles to come visit me for a long weekend. The month after that I lost my job and he flew me out to live with him in Arizona since I no longer had financial ties keeping me there. The next month we were engaged. In 2000, a year to the date that we met, we were married at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel.
The theme that we wanted wasn't on their normal "menu" but they totally worked with us and we sort of mostly got what we wanted...don't judge - it was a "hair band" wedding...you know, like 80's glam metal? Yeah, it's still my jam, what?? :headbang::kill: We had our reception at Batista's Hole in the Wall.

10 years later for our anniversary we renewed our vows at the same chapel, this time with a Phantom of the Opera wedding - again they worked with us and instead of the Phantom and Christine singing All I Ask Of You, they let us sing it to each other. I got super nervous and forgot half the lyrics, but that's not the point.:whistle:

We used to go to Vegas every August for our anniversary, but when I started doing the half marathons we switched the annual trip to November and realized how much we love not sweating our asses off in the summers there so now it's always toward the end of the year.
We have yet to decide what we are doing for our 20th anniversary that is coming up this year, but I'm sure Vegas will be involved somehow. :)

My wife and I got married in Vegas in June 1999. Way off the strip at the Redeemer Lutheran Church on Pecos Rd. We were getting hitched with a baby due in October of 1999! Scandalous, I do realize. We were surprised that so many of our immediate and extended family ended up making the trip. 75 people eventually RSVP’d and we fed them at the Rio Carnival Buffet. Stayed at the New Frontier. Came out of the gate winning at Blackjack. Over five thousand dollars up over the four day trip after paying for all the expenses. Spa, tuxes, cake , flowers, the Preacher Man and Church. Even a $600 dinner at The Rosewood Grille. My family still likes to talk about my Rosewood Grille dinner that cost more than my car back in the day! Have had few multi- day runs that fun.

Battista’s for the reception, that is cool. I hope you stopped next door at Stage Door for a PBR and a shot afterwards?? Great wedding story...

Thanks, we chose Battista's because that was where he and I shared our first semi official dinner/date the weekend that we met. We've been back there a couple of times since then but our Uber driver last month told us that they were going to be sold. According to him, the gentleman that owned the place had passed and his kids were itching to sell. Not sure if that is true or not but it made me sad nonetheless, especially since that was our Uber ride out to the airport to leave town and I'm not sure we will be able to get back before it is sold.

We had our family and friends there. Our 6 year old came along and we created a Vegas monster. He has talked about going back ever since!

I will be getting married this June out in Vegas! Having a little private ceremony in the Valley of Fire and spending a week out there. Wasn't even my idea... that's how I know shes is the one. Haha. We got engaged last year in Vegas so we will close the loop we started out in Sin City.

The Baboo and I got married on May 30, 2017 at the Viva Las Vegas wedding chapel. Our officiant was Elvis and we had it live-streamed on the internet for all the people back home to watch. They were most impressed by the pink cadillac we rode into the chapel in. We had stayed at Paris for four days before the wedding in a great suite that a helpful desk clerk upgraded us to when we did the $20 trick. We moved to Caesars Palace the day before the wedding and stayed there for three days after the wedding. If anything, the $20 trick got us an even more impressive suite there. Three bathrooms counting the one just inside the foyer. A conference table big enough for 10 people and an absolutely huge living area overlooking the strip. In 25 years of staying in casino hotels, that CP suite was easily the largest and most impressive of all.

Married at the Venetian on the big white gondola. Can't even remember what year, but it was somewhere around 02. (Divorced in 09 or 10 LOL)

About a month after we got married I found a credit on my card for the $500 it cost us. I called the Venetian and was told that our bill was paid and they couldn't explain why I got the refund to my card. To this day I have no idea who paid for our wedding, but I remember it every time I go inside the Venetian and see the gondolas.

Got married there in 2016. Very simple affair with dinner in Morels afterwards. Just the way we wanted it.

Got married at the Flamingo a while ago. It didn't stick. Reception at Margaritaville was really fun and reasonably priced for ~35 people - was something like $3500 in food and drinks. We had the party room boat reserved for us, but I'm not sure if that's there anymore?

Got married July 19,2012 at Mandalay Bay on the beach (tropical sunset wedding). It wasn’t as hot as the wedding we were at the week before in Ohio. 82 people were in attendance and we had our reception at Nove at the Palms.
