2020: Where Were You When The New Decade Began?

When the clock struck midnight, where were you? And as a bonus, what were you doing?

on stage at midnight on NYE.

 

Same. ZZZzzzz...well, except for the three times my old body had to get up to use the bathroom

 

In my brother's basement!
Watched the Times Square ball drop Central Time Zone replay.
Started the year with a smooch with my bride.
Just a high-five for my brother though!

Asleep, although I stayed up later than planned. The Three Stooges marathon was supreme this year. Saw ones I had never seen, "An Ache In Every Stake" lol

 

Asleep as usual. Party animals that we are.

I got a call at 1230am on the 31st to help get my Son's car started never went to bed after that. Made it up for 22 hours though.

 

Beautiful Waller Tx, watching some neighbors shoot off some fireworks with my wonderful husband of almost 55 years. Waiting for first Vegas trip of this decade in April.

 

Sitting on the floor with some Stella's watching the Kings pummel the Flyers 5-3.

 

On my back porch sparking one up... High point of the year so far.

 

I was awake for Sydney—Johannesburg—London—&NY but zzzzzzz’ng for Chicago time zone. I guy can only toast so much for so long. My time has passed.

 

Sleeping until 12:02 when the sound of fireworks woke me up.... but I didn't get out of bed, I just listened

 

On the roof of The Cromwell parking garage watching fireworks with a bottle of expensive champagne poured into two plastic water bottles.

 

You go girl! Almost 55 years of wedded bliss and an upcoming Vegas trip - doesn’t get much better than that

I’ll wave this weekend as we pass through on our way to Spring!

In my recliner handicapping Wednesdays races at Santa Anita and watching a Three Stooges Marathon.

I missed this about a kid from Ware at Times Square. Quite amazing.

Aiden Clark, a Massachusetts teenager, was standing on stage in Times Square in New York City as Steve Harvey hosted the Fox New Year’s Eve special.

The 17-year-old from Ware had been diagnosed with a nervous system disorder when he was 6 years old and had always dreamed of going to the Super Bowl.

Live on television, his dream was granted by New England Patriots legend Rob Gronkowski.

I prefer to stay home on NYE, so this year was no different. I was channel flipping between the various NYE shows on TV and watched the ball drop in New York, then switched over to our Chicago NYE show to ring in the New Year here at home, then I went to bed.

 

1. We were home
2. We were sleeping

What is my bonus?

 

Usually we are winter camping; but this year we stayed home. We were sitting on the couch with our beagle lying right between us. Can't think of a better way to ring in the new decade.

 

Me, the Mrs, our two hounds and the neighbors greyhound were parked in the home theater watching Parks & Recreation. When midnite hit, we opened the back doors, took the dogs out to do their bidness, commented on how the clouds made fireworks invisible, then the five of us hopped into bed. You don't really appreciate the size of a greyhound until one is curled up next to you.

I used to spend NYE partying hard at Broadway & Columbus (Vesuvio) in San Francisco, then get home sometime around six or so in the morning. That's all in the rear view mirror now.

 

Working. I didn't even pay attention to the clock.
