Trip Report 12/27 - 1/3: The Return of the Fifth Queen

AZ Decatur had decimated their VP offerings last time I was there, but probably still worth it for the new member promotion. The burger deal at the cafe was incredibly cheap and actually quite good. Hope you take them for a Royal!

So just met up and had a lovely chat with the absolutely fantastic @Flowers - she exceeded already-high expectations Go kill it and have lots of fun at Bingo After Dark! It was just her and me; I guess other people were busy doing wonderful Vegas things - it happens She gifted me a whole bunch of ACG, LVA, and other coupons - if anybody is in the area 4Q tomorrow/Tuesday and wants to see what they can use let me know We may very well running into each other again when her plans take her to downtown for a bit So far no gambol today... that will simply have to change

Me neither - well I’m at AC Decatur to do a new member bonus... time to Carpe Arizona Charlie and shake a Royal flush out of him, or at least quad aces

 

Good luck, I ran relatively bad on this promo over the summer but sure you’ll fare better.

 

Good luck at Arizona Charlie's. I did it several months ago putting the $4 thousand through, broke even (after the $100), and then lost two hundred on a group of tight slots (cycling $750). My offers were not amazing: 2 nights at AC and no F/P, and a month later, 2 nights at The STRAT w/$25 FP and $10 dining. Great for the $100, but not a long-term focus for me--especially with their recent downgrades.

 

Well no quad aces (dollar 8/5 BP) but between some decent quad luck (I did hit 3’s, and then jacks once as well) and maybe a flush/FH or two more than expected, the $100 free play bonus (which turned into $40 cash, oh well ) and two winning blackjack match plays, I turned $320 in into $535 out Now trying to decide whether to turn in for a few hours or go back down (in my room at QQQQ now)... I probably should sleep a bit but I don’t wanna *stomps feet*

 

Did you get a yellow cap? Were there any in the machine? I believe that they ran out of the Halloween ones and were putting the "house" yellow cap. (Spirit of the Wolf) in the machine.

 

Interesting things that happened today:

1) *Thrice* learning from experience to have next to no faith in the accuracy of Google Maps and RTC’s text service to accurately estimate wait times... I guess I’m gonna have to try the RTC app, but why am I not terribly optimistic right now? Had to catch an Uber to make sure I got to the meetup on time bc apparently I missed a connection by one minute (oh and buses often are early to stops unless it’s right after a “time stop” where they have to stop and recalibrate... I mean if buses ran every 5-10 minutes that’d be one thing, but especially at night that isn’t quite the case (although Vegas is better than San Diego in quite a few routes in this regard)...

2) I had the feeling I forgot something when I left the room... when I was standing at the bus stop behind the Sahara trying to figure out what to do because the (assumed - see above) missed connection was putting me at risk of not making it in time for the planned meet... and I realized very distinctly I did not have my jacket with me when the wind picked up So yeah, between freezing my big arse off and time issues, I got an Uber to Gold Coast... and apparently dropped my phone in the car as I was getting out of it, only to realize when I reached for it as I was entering the casino Ensue “Very Fat Person Running Improbably Fast” scene where I was desperately flagging down the car and THANKFULLY got the driver’s attention so I could retrieve my phone So there was a good 15 minutes of me thinking I may have conked my heart for good before I finally caught my breath and regained some semblance of calm before the planned meet

3) Cornerstone is just awesome; it would be great even at full price, and that $20 off $40 ACG coupon makes it all the better

4) Drink service took *awhile* at ACD... in the high limit area But then the server came by every 10-15 minutes after nothing for an hour or so? Although she did notice I left my backpack (again, with the forgetting/misplacing things ) when I went to the True Rewards desk to activate my $100 free play, so there’s that

5) For @Flowers

 

Still haven’t played yet beyond that initial dabble - I might give it a more serious go sometime in the next few days

Well I am taking a meal break at Magnolia’s... today has been a bit rough; if it weren’t for the quad 2’s I hit shortly before I stopped I think I would have wiped out all but $100 or so of my $1100 up prior to today Oh well, that’s gambool Had a bit of gambling dessert in the form of some Harley Davidson slots which had the minimum bet level loaded with free games... stopped as soon as I got one of the bonuses and ended up a whole buck fifty Ok meal done (the avocado chicken triple stack sandwich and the bread pudding are both excellent btw ), time to land some more quads and hopefully a Royal

Poke a hole through everything you own. Go to the player's club of your favorite casino and get one of those curly phone-cord type clips and clip everything you own to yourself. Stop leaving sh*t behind. Then you can just concentrate on all the good food, good vp and alcohol that makes LV so special.

 

Ummm so an alarm just went off telling us to stay in our rooms until further notice... and now we were just told it was a false alarm... alrighty then

 

Another one just dropped in my lap (first quad of the day though so still down)... I can almost forgive not getting the kicker on the draw, almost
