Okay...On with Adventures in Slotting with @Sonya, @Retrobabble and Dan, the $50 GIANT FISH catcher.

After we all partied as much as any middle-aged VMBers might (eating food, sitting around shooting the sh*t and laughing, drinking adult bevvies...you know, the usual ;)) @breanna61 and husband had places to be, as well as @luck.ofthe.draw meeting up with with Mr. @MCann....
so we ladays, along with Dan and Mr. Ardee, decided to go downstairs and do some damage to the slots.
Husband pooped out quickly and in all fairness the guy was a trooper in helping to decorate and arrange all the fun stuff we did while having our get-together. A good egg. :kiss:He went back upstairs to pack a bit and catch some :snore::yawn::snore: for the drive back home in the morning. So with heavy hearts, we soldiered on without him.

Then @Sonya and @Retrobabble headed off with me in tow to find the bank of Wonka slots we so wanted to play.
In the meantime, Sonya was trying to figure out where Dan was through the miracle of texting.
It seemed he was busy doing his own thing looking around the casino and checking out the sights.

We couldn't get a spot at Wonka, as there were 2 plunkers on seats #2 and #3...having a good time while swinging around in their chairs.
How dare they have our fun???? Harumph! :soapbox:

Next...we found the community slot game Hawaiian Paradise Fishing. Luckily, we spotted 4 open seats and by then Dan had joined us.
I had no idea how to work the controls but Sonya and Retro were really good at yelling at me:cuss: to stop doing the wrong thing by pushing and pulling the hand crank like a crazy person and just play the damn game like a civilized human being. I love those gals. :blowkiss:
And as luck would have it, good ol' Dan grabs onto a GINORMOUS fish and caught the big one for a 50 buck win on a 50c bet.
    It was awesome!!!
Next...the almost 2.6 million win that got away  and @Sonya's Jackpot Party Super Wild Free spins.
Also, stay tuned for the awesome 4 Wonders slot where we all took it down playing the Penguin game. :wiggle:

Which, by the way, Mz. @ardee conveniently forgot she was yelling at the top of her lungs, “OMG!” and WHAT DO I DO?!? WHAT DO I DOOO?!?” while cranking on the controls and staring all googly-eyed at the big screen. I think I was wheezing from laughing so hard.

Hi, GG. Thanks. We had a good time.
No qualifications for invites other than all of us having a good sense of humor, some hobbies or interests in common other than Vegas ,
and then let the rest fall together as we interact on the board and get to know friends. Some great folks on VMB.
Hope to meet many more one day.

Thanks, @ardee - I'm sure we'd find lots to chat about (anyone golf, lol?). We've not been to our fave city for awhile now (travelling to many other places; weather has kiboshed us en route to Palm Springs in late Feb). Btw, we're in Palm Springs in March if the Ardees ever make it there from SD ... the Agua Caliente casino isn't bad.

    Cheers, GG.

Asked husband to do a recap review of our meals at The Henry and Scarpetta but alas, he’s stuck in the after-Christmas, I ain’t doing sh*t zone...so for now here’s a pic of the antipasti we all enjoyed at Scarpetta and maybe he’ll gather his thoughts before the weekend is over.

    (Insert Matthew McConaughey here.)

Lunch, Day One: Rather than brave the crowd at Holsteins, we opted instead to grab a light lunch at The Henry. The better half chose soup and a salad. She chose...wisely. I, OTOH, went for the Tater-Tot nachos with short rib. Amazingly delicious rendition, but as my mother often warned "You'll spoil your appetite!" Silly mom. Warning to all Bloody Mary fans! The Henry no longer serves theirs with a pipette of Sriracha. The horror! 7/10

Dinner, Day One: (Scarpetta) Sonya, Dan, Retrobabble, Ardees - Much nomming occurred. Others will have to kick in pics because we were too busy eating! Amazing bread bowl, as always. Great selection. Antipasti is pictured above (prosciutto, sopressata picante, marinated vegetables, grilled bread, artisan cheeses) and vanished quickly. Not pictured was the truffled mushroom polenta (aka grits and fungus) Wife, Retro and @Sonya gave it a 6 thumbs up. Other than the knife fight that broke out over who got the last of the bowl, it was enjoyed by all. Dishes included spaghetti (with added meatballs), duck and foie gras ravioli, short rib agnolotti, spinach tortellini with browned butter and sage as well as the duck breast entree. Cocktails were enjoyed, the bon mots flowing like the Algonquin Round Table. 8/10 (needs more cowbell) We had desserts. Somebody come in and remind us what we gobbled down. They were quite tasty.

Breakfast, Day Two: Met Retrobabble at The Henry for breakfast on Christmas Eve morn. Many Bloody Marys consumed. Oatmeal & Fruit with bagel, Short Rib Benedict and a chorizo version of Scotch Eggs were ordered. All delish. My only complaint on the Scotch Eggs is of a personal taste - I prefer the eggs hard all the way through in this application. Half-cooked egg yolks are no-one's friend (my wife is rolling her eyes). But the taste was quite spicy. Good for restarting your heartburn in the morning. All plates were licked clean by the time the server indicated that it was time to either a) order more Bloodys and hunker down for the duration of the war, or 2) pay the check and get back to gambling. 8/10

Cosmo Suite Party Buffet, Day Two: Others have covered the spread more than adequately. Secret Pizza for the win. I don't think there was more than a piece or two left by the time the evening drew to a close. The left-over wings were packed up and part of Friday night's dinner at home. Sliders gnashed, veggie plate devastated, charcuterie tray a wasteland. Roberto proved a godsend in his arranging the vittles and viands of the spread, I'll tell you!
The company makes the meal, and our VMB companions certainly made this one a meal that will be remarked on in our dotage. (Insert Spinal Tap gif here.)

The photo of the truffle mushroom polenta does not do it justice.

    1D2884FA-1F2D-4B94-9DE9-E5ACE2F3B039.jpeg

I don’t remember anyone else’s desserts because I was focused on scarfing down my light and fluffy chocolate soufflé.

92D01CF1-2C21-413E-B0DE-81DE1D9C22E1.jpeg With some sort of gelato-y side dish.

Will always agree with the “need more cowbells” pronouncements.

And not being entirely certain of the libations for the soirée, I believe I had to test it repeatedly. For science.

I SOOOO wanted to meet you Breanna, and Ardee and Luck and others I might now know who were there! This was my mom's belated retirement celebration trip (2 years overdue) and she can be a little shy, which is why I was a little hard to pin down. Next time we all are out? I ABSOLUTELY want to meet you all.

I hope you had an amazing trip, and you know we'll all be back in Vegas sooner than any of us think! Next time we are in town at the same time you can bet your Kitty Glitter I'll be chasing you down to meet! :blowkiss:
