The South Point is the way to go. I have been going there since the place was built. I believe it is now 12 years old. Previous to that, I was a transplant from The Orleans.

So, I am a Craps player. I play at a $5 table with max odds and then usually play 6 & 8 with sometimes a 5. I press my bets. I lay some hard ways for the boys at times. Though not required, they are most appreciative of people that tip. Being that I go there a few times a year and a do believe in making sure I tip the dealers, I have found that the Dealers & Pit Bosses have been the absolute nicest people that one can possibly imagine. I usually go for 3 nights. The place is clean as a whistle. The staff EXTREMELY friendly. My experience has been the COMPS have been extremely liberal. Like I said, I believe in treating people the way you would hope to be treated. EVERYONE had treated me like I have known them forever.

The Bosses in the Pit know me by name, many of the dealers will say hell using my name having not seen me for a few months at a time. Food had been excellent, though I must say I general will eat at the Buffet or Coffee show having played at the Crap[s table for a couple of hours at a time. Cocktail waitresses are plentiful. (Did I mention a small tip will ensure that you're never passed up)?

I generally get a standard room comped mid week. On my most recent visit, The Host reserved me a one bedroom Jr. Suite. This room literally had all the comforts of home. And Light, airy and CLEAN !!

My suggestion? Get yourself a players card. If you can get a Line of Credit, beautiful. If not, go to the table, with at least a couple hundred dollars and your players card. Be friendly and respectful. Tip a little when you can and you will be AMAZED opportunity it will give you.

Tell any of the Bosses that Frank from Long Island give the Southpoint the recommendation.

The guy Michael Gaughn that owns it must be genius.

It has a bowling center and movie theaters. They also give a small coupon book when you check in.

I saw, South Point ALL THE WAY !!

What happens though, if the dealer is showing a 10 and doesn't check, then the players play their hands out. Say I have 8's, split, then get a DD hand, so I now have three wagers out there assuming none of the 3 hands bust. Then the dealer flips an Ace for a BJ. Do I lose all 3 bets?? If the dealer would have checked the hole card before I played my hand I would only have lost one bet. This seems like a big house advantage if a casino deals BJ this way.

Although the dealer does not check for a natural with a 10 showing, the player still only loses his/her original bet if the dealer does have a blackjack according to South Point's rules.

The dealers DO check for the undercard if a face card is showing. Card readers were installed a couple of years ago.

I just came back from two nights at the South Point, check my recent TR for a bit of info on how that went. I loved it there. My junior suite was excellent, and I got it a 392 dollar comped off at least 10k of video poker coin-in a day. They have an amazing promotion going at the moment: half off everything bought with points. If you play a lot of video poker like I do, that is a great deal and doubles the value of their slot club, making 9/6 JoB a positive game. They have a great selection of VP games so for my purposes it can't be beat. The buffet is mediocre but the other F&b options are really great. Cannot recommend the place enough!

Ive been to Southpoint several times bc I like the after midnight steak and eggs special. Last two trips I went to the Silverton instead bc service is better at Silverton. I usually hit one of these two places when I arrive on my flight that arrives around 11:30pm.

Yes, South Point is a big property. It has a lot of slots, it has a wide variety of food choices at all price levels, it has a theater, it has a bowling alley.

BUT. It is only ONE property. If you're feeling unlucky, where can you go and still preserve $$$ spent (i.e. gambled) towards loyalty? NOWHERE!!

That is the same reason why I don't play at Cosmopolitan, Tropicana, or any other casino that is a "one trick pony".

Although South Point has all these amenities (Pool, theatres, bowling alley, restaurants, etc.) it is true that it is far out there and sitting by itself.

But you're just visiting. Great diversion before heading back to your "home casino".

It's the DIAMOND in the rough. Well, that's my opinion. I play craps. If things are going good, beautiful If things aren't, time to get have a meal, see a movie or try some bowling. Obviously the game is going to be the same. I believe you can go somewhere and have 10x or possibly more. And that is certainly your choice.

Some of us don't gamble enough to get any loyalty, so why give it?

Yep. And there are a sizable amount of gamblers that don't play for comps. They know those "free" comps have a price.

Can anyone tell me if you can book your South Point mailer offer online, using the offer code in the requested box?, or do you need to call?

Is there resort fee on comps? because if not, the online is fail.

Because I just checked for my Jan, Feb, Mar rates and only saw min $100+ rooms w resort fees, only a $2k suite avail for thursday Jan 23 (I get the last minute, but NO available rooms at any other price?)
but have 2 night comp offers for all those months..

and just curious, have they always had these strip style add ons like: (I do appreciate it being available)?
Luxury Wind Down USD 150.24 / unit
Enjoy a bottle of Veuve Cliquot-Ponsardin “Yellow Label” Brut Champagne & four scrumptious large strawberries dipped in chocolate. All amenity orders include local sales tax and 18% gratuity. Delivery will occur the next day after check in. Please contact the Front Desk for any delivery changes.
I would like to see the 6 foot cake:
Celebrate with a South Point 6' cake.

    I guess word got out..(?)
Ummm.. SP is horrible, everybody should stay away !! :p

My reason would be to see a new property. I try to visit a new one every trip, for the experience. I have a High School friend that lives in Vegas now, he suggested meeting at South Point, and it didn’t disappoint. Very upbeat place with friendly staff and friendly locals. If you go and don’t like it, it’s not a huge deal, as it’s only a few miles from the strip.

Definitely lots of good VP choices. But to call the buffet mediocre is generous. I ate at their buffet just once and I seriously considered leaving and getting food elsewhere.
