    First of all, HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

And second, yah I'm down for that. F*k it why not :D

Also, @notfromconcentrate - mad respect on the pocket square, and the outfit. Slow dramatic clap . I just got a new pocket square delivered from Mail-a-claus today, and it's a critical part of my next Vegas outfit. I'm frickin bringing it in April, both literally and figuratively. Love the brocade / paisley look, and I'll prove it in about 126 days give or take. Cheers!

Dinner at Triple George was very good. As you may recall from my summer TR, I was less than satisfied with my meal there. I wrote about it on TripAdvisor, and their GM reached out to me to talk me into giving them another try. I accepted, and that was the basis of this visit.

Started out with the French onion soup. Tasted great, could tell it was made from scratch.

Main course was a ribeye with king crab and a side of asparagus. Naturally, I noted my potato allergy to the server, to ensure there would be no potatoes on the plate. What do I find under the steak?

Fucking hell. Out of both frustration and being on a tight-ish schedule, I told the server to get me the bill for the soup, and that I wasn’t interested in staying and waiting for it to be re-made. He begged me to stay, saying he would get the kitchen to re-make it before anything else. Checked with them, they quoted five minutes. Reluctantly, I agreed to stay.

It came out pretty fast... and I was overall satisfied with everything. The steak was a perfect medium-rare.

Barring that hiccup, I’d definitely go back based on this experience, which was a lot more consistent with everything I’ve heard about Triple George.

Just pulling up to the High Roller now, running late to meet up with @astribljng and @tornadobox. High roller photos to come!

This is the end of drink #3.

The second drink was a shot, so it doesn’t count.

At O’Shea’s right now to have a frozen Baileys for “drink #3”

Last night was... a long night. Let’s just put it that way. No regrets whatsoever, but I’d be lying if I was to say I’m not mad at myself, both on the principle of not sticking to my word, and because doing so threw a wrench into today’s gameplan.

As you may have gathered from @astribling’s report... the high roller was a great time, and some drinks were had both there and at the Piano Bar at Harrah’s.

Here are some of my photos...

Then pulling up to the Luxor at around the same time I’d originally planned to wake up.

Luckily I was able to get a late checkout pretty easy. They emailed me about it, almost as if they knew :)

Hopped in my Lyft to Eastside Cannery. Original plan was to just drop my things in my room, head down to water street for a bit, and then the Clark County museum before I volunteer from 5-8.

EC room is nice. Great position to get a view of the mountains.

After snapping these photos, I started looking around for the safe to put my laptop and passport in. Strangely, couldn’t find it. Which was puzzling, as I could have sworn the room description said the rooms have safes. I checked again, and it did say that.

So I inquired, and they tell me only their top-tier suites (which are all occupied for the weekend) have safes. I showed them what it says, right here, on their own website...

Fucking fuck. People often tease me for being overly thorough in investigating and confirming things and this is EXACTLY why. Front desk manager said she couldn’t do anything, my only options are to get a full refund and check out now (which obviously isn’t an option), or speak to the general manager when she gets in on Monday morning.

Reluctantly, I opted for the latter and she said I can put my valuables in a safe deposit box. Which, of course, doesn’t hold my laptop. So I have to carry that with me now.

I’m not sure what I’m going to say to the GM when I speak to her on Monday. I’m really trying to keep my cool over this... but it’s not easy to do when something material like this is blatantly misrepresented and I’m stuck as a result. I realize they can’t just magically come up with rooms with more safes. But the level of inconvenience and risk that this has exposed me to, I believe warrants a waived room rate for one night. I don’t think that’s unreasonable to ask for. There is no way in hell I will stay here again after this though, regardless of the outcome of that conversation.

About to hop into a Lyft down to Water Street to eat at Juan’s, then off to the museum for the late afternoon/early evening.

On a more positive/potentially more exciting note, I’m currently at $740 out of my original $1,000. Depending on how much I’m in the mood to gamble later tonight, I might attempt the same thing as last trip where I’ll take $500 of it and try to triple it. Will probably do so at Sam’s Town, where there’s enough of a selection of tables/machines.

Agreed... I recall MSS didn't have a key for the safe when I stayed there. I was pretty uncomfortable walking around that night with *ALL* of my bills!

I still think you'll end up extending the trip somehow...

Currently in the midst of volunteering at the Clark County Museum, at which they’ve got a “Heritage Holidays” open house event going... I’ve been assigned the duty of “guarding” the Candlelight Wedding Chapel to prevent food and beverage from coming in... as well as to provide fun facts about the chapel and its history.

It’s a very interesting chapel actually, along with its story of how it got from its original location across from Circus Circus, to the museum out here in Henderson: https://m.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/nov/13/historic-local-standards/

They’ve also got a scrapbook collection showing photos and licenses of weddings held here dating back to 1966.

I originally wanted to do this just to help out the museum, in response to their call for volunteers that they put out on Facebook about a month ago. Though as a fringe benefit, I’m finding the people-watching of Henderson locals to be very enlightening. For my fellow Gilmore Girls fans, they actually remind me a lot of the people of Stars Hollow, CT, for some reason.

I still maintain that the $2 admission fee to get into the museum and its surrounding Heritage Village grounds is the best dollar value for anything in the Vegas valley. Even if you’re not a history buff, I think most anyone (especially most anyone who loves Vegas) will enjoy spending a couple of hours out here.

Also, had a late lunch at Juan’s. Had my usual sizzling pork and guava margarita. I have similarly high praises of this place. Perfect thing to combine with a trip out to the museum :)
