Hello, comfortablynumb. Welcome! I am also from Kansas City, traveling to Vegas every year, my favorite destination. I haven't been on this site for a while, but I see it has grown. Favorite place to stay in Vegas the last few years is the Cosmopolitan, mostly because of the balcony view. Looking forward to warm weather and another trip!

Hello @vegaseveryyear nice to see someone else from our region!

I just took my 16-year-old daughter to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving weekend. Her friend lives out there now. We stayed at The STRAT and they did the Skyjump.

I am also a member of the Neon Museum and love going there.

It was only my second trip, so my hotel experience is limited- stayed at The Tuscany the first time.

Thanks to this forum, I've earned 3 comp nights at The Mirage from the myVegas app, so my next trip will be February 9-12. Can't wait! Going to see Aerosmith while I'm there, also Wayne Newton.

In your all's opinion, which casinos in Vegas have the best video poker machines? I heard somewhere that The Cromwell has good ones that pay out, but I haven't gone there yet...

Glad you're here! Hey, do you play in the KC-area casinos? I do occasionally, and will be up there over the holidays. I've never had great luck...do you have one or two that you like?

I get down to the KC area maybe once every few months and I've had the best luck at Ameristar and the Isle Of Capri.

Harrah's, which is the only one I get semi-decent offers from, seems to be quite tighter than those two. I've never had any luck there.

I've done so-so at Argosy and enjoy the ambiance, but the drive there is a rat-maze to get through!

I have not been to the new one by the racetrack yet. No particular reason, just haven't. :)

Thanks. I have been to Hollywood by the racetrack once, and I enjoyed it although I didn't win.

I do probably like Ameristar the best of those you mentioned, and yeah, I've never gotten a sniff at Harrah's.

@bull1029 I won $430 on a $5 bill at the Argosy once, however I've since discovered the 7th Street Casino in KCK. Slots there are based on bingo (don't ask me how that works) but I've won there a couple times.

The absolute most money I've ever won at a casino anywhere in this region, hands down, is the Casino Queen in East St Louis.

Thanks...do they have VP at the 7th St. in KCK?

    welcome and go Chiefs!

also a former Kansas Citian here, relocated to the PNW ten years ago. I will always refer to casinos as "the boats" and had stints at two of them when I was younger - arcade technician at Ameristar and valet at Argosy. I gotta say I've had the most luck at the Pile of Debris on my annual family visits, never any luck at Harrah's, Ameristar, Argosy, or Hollywood.

I can tell you're from here because we definitely do refer to it as "Pile of Debris!"

From central Kansas here. Travel up to KC often. Harrah's, mainly due to brand loyalty to make trips to LV more enjoyable. We play mainly table games, but don't seem to have any luck at VP when I do play. Staff is very friendly and they have an enclosed poker room that is away from the smoke. Very nice. Their little grill (Bite and Bean) surprisingly has the best food I've ever had from a grill.
