Which Strip Resort offers the best balance between nice rooms and cheap eats/drinks?

I would toss my hat in for NYNY. They pack a ton of good stuff into that casino and it's a great vibe on the floor. I would consider the restaurants reasonably priced and I haven't had a bad meal at any of the restaurants. The rooms are a little dated, but, I've never had a bad one. I've seen several mentions of Park MGM, but, I like the casino at NYNY a lot better and it's right next door.

 

Of the hotels I've stayed in, the ones that best strike a balance between room quality and inexpensive on-site dining are Palazzo/Venetian, Mandalay Bay, and Planet Hollywood. I listed them by decreasing price of the room.

CP is great, but find "budget dining" difficult on site. The food court is small for the size of the property and the prices are higher.

 

Well that is alright then, let me know how it goes and what your thoughts are on Bavette's. keep in mind that the ambiance is quite dark, but a little brighter around the bar area.

Definitely PH for me. There's lots of inexpensive food choices within walking distance.

 

I'm a NYNY guy myself. I understand that some people may not like the rooms because they feel dated. If that is the case you can stay across the street at MGM Grand which has nicer rooms, or you can stay next door at Park MGM which has the most recently renovated rooms. Either place is close to NYNY which has a lot of good dining options, and those two places will also have a good selection of places to eat at.

That is my favorite corner on the strip to stay, eat and play.

 

Funny, lots of love for pH, but I'm not huge on their food options. Surprised nobody mentioned V/P...top rooms on the strip and the biggest food court with LOTS of cheap options. Oh, and Grand Luxe is amazing....even despite the fact that it's a chain.

To that end, here's how I'd rate the properties based on availability of cheap eats / nice rooms:

1. V/P
2. Cosmopolitan
3. Aria
4. Paris
5. NYNY

Another vote for Cosmo. My last 2 trips I barely left the resort LOL. I have no problem eating all of my meals there especially now that they have the food court type options - nothing better than grabbing something there and just taking it up to your balcony. If you like to have pop/soda with your meal be sure to grab a 6 pack across the street in the ABC store at PH. If you purchase from the food court offerings it is $5 for one.

 

PH has perhaps the most convenient setup. SOME of the base rooms can be bad. New Chik-fil-A opening soon, Earl of Sandwich, a few cheap breakfast places in mall, Walgreen's just out the door for sandwiches, fast food galore, ABC store for drinks, LobsterME for lobster rolls, P.F. Chang. No other casino/hotel can compete. Avoid cheap 2 for 1 drinks (little, if any, alcohol). Instead try a margarita on the rocks at Planet Dailies. Blammo.

I agree. IMO, the range of dining at V/P is the best on the strip. They have the best base rooms, too. (Thanks to IHG Rewards I once got to stay 3 nights Palazzo.) MB and PH are good bets when the budget is smaller.

 

I swear by NYNY for good affordable eats. Rooms are mesh at best. Recently I've started started staying at the NoMad a top the Park at heading to Beerhaus for Happy Hour. Really and of the food selections at NYNY are @ your $15 - $20/pp range if I read that right.

 

Stayed at PH, had most meals at the Cosmo because they are the best.

I tell this to people all the time on TripAdvisor. Don’t force yourself to stay/eat all at the same hotel... Vegas was meant to be explored. You would be doing a huge disservice to yourself if you ONLY ate at your resort and didn’t explore others.

 

I would say Flamingo with Harrahs is right there easy walk. If you want to step up a bit go to Ballys/Paris they connect nice rooms and a number of food options.

 

Paris or NYNY. Mon Ami Gabi at Paris is nice and reasonably priced.
