Sorry if this has been asked before, but, I did a search and didn't see much to answer my questions.

I recently stayed at the Downtown Grand 11.20.2019-11.23.2019 (about 60 hours lol) and gave what I thought was pretty decent play. The last time I checked the kiosk to see how many points I had earned I think it was around 780(no clue what that is coin in, I played a lot of hands though), almost all from DDB VP at the Furnace Bar. Along with those points, I would say I spent about 4 hours a day (maybe longer) playing BJ $10-15 average a hand and gave them my card each time. I was hoping to get offers for some free nights from my play because I love staying there. However, since I usually get offers for free rooms at NYNY I would have to stick with it as my main hotel if I don't. I guess my questions are:

    1. How do they do their offers? Emails, mailers, or do I just call and see what they can do?
    2. When would I hear something if it's emails and mailers?
    3. Would that kind of play even get offers from DTG? Haha if that ain't shit, feel free to let me know.

Was going to officially book my next trip (see below) around the end of January, but, some friends are going to be downtown near the end of February and I got a few free flights in reserve.

You would not have gotten any points from table play. If your machine play was all VP, and you were not playing any +EV games (greater than 100% RTP), you would have done about $1,560 of coin-in. Let's call the hold on that 2 percent. Your theo would have been about $31. Comp value is typically 30% of theo, and yours from machine play would have been about $9 and change. I would estimate the total comp value of your BJ play to be about $20. I estimate your average daily comp value to be just under $10.

That would be worth a decent teaser offer at best, but you are more likely going to be receiving a discount room offer 2-3 months from now.

I have no idea what kind of system they use
On my first 2 blackjack trips I had a host giving me 150 dollar vouchers for the steakhouse across the street playing about an hour or so spreading 50-300
The first time I lost a lot the the second I won a lot
I had 4 nights a week with food credits match plays etc
Then they backed me off from blackjack for card counting on my third time playing with them.
I still used their free stuff for the next few trips because they had already been booked.(theoretically they could have taken them away but casinos rarely do this for booked offers unless you're really a problem)

Then a few months ago my "friend" got a players card and after ten minutes got backed off from blackjack
That was "his" only play ever there. And somehow "he" got 3 night offers with 75 dollar match plays.go figure.

These were all emailed offers btw.

Haha damn. That's crazy they backed you and your "friend" off. I guess with this place it's completely up in the air lol.

    The backoffs didn't surprise me
Sending comp.offers after a backoff with ten minutes of playing history surprised me

I have found that the DTG has it head up its ass when it comes to comps, mailers, VP games offered, etc.

After the FPDW fiasco for about two weeks back in July, I received some really good mailers with $32K coin in during that two week period. They were $80 and $100 free play twice a week and $60 food twice a month.

OK. Good mailers, lets give them some good action. I put in $86K coin-in in October and $85K in November. The December mailer was terrible. $10 free play twice a week and $10 food twice during the month.

Their hosts ain't no good either. I emailed mine about the end of November drawings. I wanted some details to see if it was worth my time to go there. He responded AFTER the drawings were over. Thanks a lot!!

I also emailed my host about why the December mailer was so low given my coin-in. Surprise...NO ANSWER!!

I loved it both times I've stayed there and as long as I can get good rates it will still be my downtown spot. There's a lot I like about it. It's looking like I shouldn't expect much from them though lol. I'm cool with that, I just didn't know what to expect because I only recently started staying at the property and in October only really gave one real day of play (got a bit carried away at the pool lol). My "home" properties on the strip are TI & NYNY and over the last year I've been able to get two nights mid-week (no FP or anything) with similar play from this past trip. I've never really played for comps, but, they are definitely nice to get!

They completely have their heads up their ass
I just booked some reservations comped.and they don't even have my email on file because they say that's the casino side

Explains how one can get both backed off and comped in the future

Not a fan of this casino it can’t support action. It’s almost as if they are open for the barely 21 drunk crowd and the seniors who play 5 cent video poker.

you want low risk don’t open a casino and put all the money in a Roth IRA

Mind you this coming from somebody who has won $6000 in July and Sept there in video poker

I’m guessing now the hotel is booked up enough that they don’t need to give a ton of comps especially since the hotel and casino are separate businesses I believe. In fact my friends have called and been quoted a higher casino rate then what they can find on the website. I think when they comp you the casino has to pay the hotel for your room or something to that effect. Once the second town is done I’m interested how things change.
    1. Maybe with more rooms the casino will comp more rooms to fill them up.
    2. Maybe with more rooms the small casino will be busier and they will raise table limits.

I like option one but option two will cause me to go elsewhere.

I think it's more they're just completely disorganized and horribly run

As another poster said if you can't handle action don't open a casino

Go in there on a Friday night it's mostly empty with people playing for peanuts
