Friday - Okay, Brother in Law is here and up super early, time to transform into ultimate tourists for the next 4 jam packed days. Trying to decide where to eat breakfast - we had more money to go back to Fremont street on our game apps, but we weren’t winning there at all and no one really wanted to go again. Hubby suggested Hash House at LINQ. Walked over towards Hash House - super long line. Okay, it’s late, we’re hungry, let’s find somewhere fast. We decide to pull the Millionaire Maker before we leave (Introduced Brother-in-Law to our new favorite pastime.) 4 of us pulled. 1 BOGO buffet and 3 more BOGO high rollers lol. Okay so now we won 2 sets of BOGO buffets - we’re going to Paris for Brunch! Got to Paris - line was long, but we have Diamond - Paid $48 total for 4 of us for Breakfast in CET comp money.

Left Paris and drove out to Red Rock Canyon. America the Beautiful pass from our last trip saved us $15 on this trip. It started out gorgeous and warm, and ended up overcast and yucky fairly quickly. I’ve never tried Red Rock in November, it was not the same as our visit in the spring with my parents. Went right back to Harrah’s after Red Rock so Mr. My-Outfit-Needs-To-Match-My-Shoes BIL could change. Sister made him wear dark pants and dark shoes to Red Rock and he wanted White/White to match his Sixers Jersey!!

Made our way back to LINQ and used our High Roller tickets from the e-standby upgrade ($10 pp) After shopping in the LINQ area and the ride on high roller we were kinda hungry, but we had an early dinner planned - decided to grab a pizza at Flour & Barley. For $15 we figured we would split one….but it came out personal sized oops! Kind of shocked the waiter didn’t question 4 adults splitting one personal pizza?? The 4 of us each ate one small piece, didn’t want to wait for a second one to be cooked, so we grabbed In & out next door - spent $40 total? Stopped at O’sheas to try a frozen Baileys. It was SO STRONG. Both hubby and his sister tried a few sips and complained about their stomachs. Left me with the rest. It was $12 for the smallest size and between the 3 of us we couldn’t finish it, it was just too strong. Will I get kicked off of VMB for not liking frozen Baileys? Cutting through the LINQ all 4 of us stopped at the giant free pull Millionaire Maker again. Hubby won $10 in slot play, the rest of us got 3 more BOGO high roller coupons. They gave him the slot play old school style - coupons that you had to manually feed into the machine! I think he cashed out $30? Walked back to Harrahs and then drove over to Excalibur.

Took the tram from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay and used our 2x 2 free MyVegas tickets for the Shark Reef. I keep several fishtanks at home, so went right to the Octopus and spent my whole visit watching them feed her - so intelligent! Paid $0, saved $100 Showed BIL around Mandalay Bay, then walked back to Excalibur the long way. Saw “Happy Place” up near the shops, it looked cool online when I saw it, but it looked SO SMALL in person, and by looking in the window there were dozens of toddlers playing on a swing set. I couldn’t convince anyone to spend the $35 pp to try it. Will have to do that another trip if its’ still there….

Got to Luxor - walked around a little. Sister won $125 on a $0.25 - 5 line machine and was ‘done’ for the day lol. So we started walking back towards Excalibur. Saw a Cleopatra $0.25 machine on the end of the Luxor high roller room on our way - hubby loves that game. 20 quarters a pull. He put in $40. Last pull wins 500 quarters ($125).

Made our way back to Excalibur.. Sister & BIL stopped at the sports book to bet on the Sixers game before realizing that the team would be playing during our dinner show…time difference! oops. We had 6:00 tickets to Tournament of Kings - 4x free from MyVegas. Paid $0, saved $224. The soda/water tasted funny (the ice?) so we just HAD to order drinks - $26 each in souvenir glasses - dinner was free, we were winning and they were nice and strong! Hung around Excalibur after the show to watch the final 30 minutes of the basketball game - went into overtime, they thought they won - had their ticket checked, their bet lost. Sister tells me the same bet at home at a Pennsylvania sports book wouldn’t have taken overtime into account. I know nothing about sports or sport betting lol.

It was late, we were tired, but we were in tourist mode. On the way back from Excalibur to Harrahs someone in the backseat says “We should go see Fremont street lit up at night”. I look at hubby, hubby looks at me…. On a Friday night? I guess that’s better than a Saturday night…Literally drove past one Circus to go visit another circus…. Parked at the D because we made a wrong turn - walked from one end to the other with Brother in Law and I don’t think he will ever ask to go back. We tried all of the free pull machines and I was carded at EVERY.SINGLE.ONE. We are 40, 36, 34 & 34. I am two weeks older than my sister in law. I got carded at EVERY SINGLE FREE PULL MACHINE. Smh. Sister and Brother in Law went into Binions to get their photo with the million, we gambled there while we waited for it to be done. Then we all made our way back towards the car, but not before Brother in Law got a little whipping from a street performer in pink cowboy boots - Oh why didn’t I take a picture?!?

Saturday - Last minute change of plans due to the Rock n Roll marathon in town tomorrow. Received notification that LV Blvd would be blocked off all day Sunday. We were originally going to use our comp money to purchase 4x Buffet of Buffet wristbands and do Bacchanal Dinner/Flamingo Breakfast/Rio Dinner…. We won’t be able to get to Rio on Sunday. Took stock of our remaining options. We can’t use MyVegas stuff on the weekends - this leaves us with comp money, diamond celebration, Fremont Street Apps or Wynn app.

Grabbed 2 buffets for Sunday on Sister’s Wynn app and 2 on Brother in Law's. Now we’re covered for dinner tomorrow night within walking distance. Headed off super early again and made it to Flamingo’s buffet line just as they were starting to open at 7 am. No real line, didn’t even use the ‘diamond line’. 4 adults. $26.99 pp - used the $100 celebration credit and paid the remaining $7.96 in comp money. I had $20 in my hand to pay the difference. The cashier says “Honey, do you have any comp money? If you pay with 100% comps you don’t have to pay any tax”. **cashier saved me 8% in taxes just over $8**. Checked out the flamingos for a little bit, sat down at the first slot of the morning and the fire alarm goes off. They come on the loudspeaker quickly to tell everyone to remain in place until further notice (ie, don’t leave), but the alarm was so loud…. We didn’t stay - as we were walking back towards LINQ they came back on to say ‘false alarm’

It wouldn’t have been a trip through the LINQ without stopping for a free pull at the Millionaire Maker. 4 pulls - 4 more BOGO high roller coupons, we can’t control our laughing. The lady remembered us and even before we pulled she wished we didn’t win “another BOGO high roller” haha! Then she says “do you all want me to print them out? Or are you good?”….. yeah, save the trees lady, we’re good. Final BOGO high roller coupon count = 15

After breakfast we hopped in the car and drove out to the Hoover Dam. Drove to the dead end first - I wanted a picture of a weird road sign that turned out blurry in May. I have unique tastes in my photography - I like pictures of one-of-a-kind signs, and pictures of fancy trashcans (here’s looking at you Disney World). Bummer it turned out blurry again, Didn’t bring a “real camera” with us this trip, just my iPhone - I can’t say I’m surprised it was blurry, it’s not a place where you can walk, or slow down driving. So we looped around at the dead end, stopped at each lookout point on the way back down, then pulled into the parking garage to get out and walk the bridge. Decided that the lines were short and since my parents didn’t want to do it earlier this year we would go ahead and pay for the Dam (n) Tour. **Insert NLVV joke here**. $15 per person for the Dam Tour, bait not included.

Got back to Harrahs and headed across the street to Mirage to redeem our tickets for the Secret Garden. We redeemed 2x 2 Free entries on my and hubby’s MyVegas account prior to the trip and printed the tickets at home that ticketmaster emailed us. Paid $0, Saved $88. I also grabbed us each $10 snack bar credit when you purchase a ticket. It’s a new non-premium MyVegas reward, so I wasn’t sure if we would be able to use it or not, but I heard positive stories on Facebook, so I gave it a shot. We went to the mLife desk at Mirage and the desk clerk says “Can I see your ticket?” Showed her the printed out comp ticket, she loaded the $10 to our cards. $40 to spend at the snack bar - yay free lunch. We ended up needing to check out separately to use the 4x $10 credits. We ended up with 2 chicken nuggets, a pretzel, a hot dog, 2 fries and 4 waters. I think we paid $9 over the MyVegas money? Spent a decent amount of time snacking on our snacks, sharing pictures via airdrop, watched 2 different dolphin training sessions, checked out the lions, then walked back across the street to Harrahs to shower up and change for dinner.

Decided to walk to Caesars - it was Bacchanal time! Using our newly found tax information, we decided to spend basically all of our remaining comps to cover dinner in full with comp money and save the taxes. Originally we were going to save hubby’s remaining money for Atlantic City Laurel Lounge access in January. Super long lines Saturday night, grateful for the Diamond Line. Paid $259.96 in comp money, saved just under $22 in taxes! **Note, in the diamond line they were offering large parties (5+) to split up for faster seating. Most of them refused to be split and were sent to the “large party line” which even for diamond was almost 2 hours long on Saturday night. According to Hubby, no family dinner is worth waiting 2 hours for - split up, eat and meet back up later...lucky for me we were a party of 4, so he sat with us haha. Great time as usual, Lobster Claws were the bomb and they had Ice Cream Mochi!

On the walk back from Caesars we purposely stopped to get pictures of Flamingo’s Donny & Marie wrap & the theater entrance, their final show was tonight, then stopped to watch the Mirage Volcano erupt down on street level.

Sunday - Sunday means Football - to most of Vegas and to my in laws. Hubby and I could care less, but when in Rome…we wore Eagles shirts, we cheered when people yelled “Go Eagles” passing by, we tried people, we tried.

Started the morning off at 4Q @ Magnolia's for breakfast, "we're poor" and we had 2x $25 app certificates to use up. Total bill was $47 - paid $0.

Come game time we found seats at the bar between LINQ and Harrahs? Carnival Court? We ordered drinks, Sister & BIL ordered a bucket like 20 minutes into a 3+ hour game hubby says “I think I’m going to explore”. Well he sure wasn’t leaving me behind! Walked from casino to casino on our side of the strip (Rock n Roll Marathon had the strip blocked off) Ended up playing in Cromwell, Flamingo, Linq & back to Harrahs. Only one machine even worthy of taking my phone out of my pocket. $58 win on a $0.40 bet. Another horrible day gambling, but we were purposely betting low because we knew we would have all evening to play too. We did earn enough points to get the special Sunday CET players card at LINQ though, and while we were walking towards the players desk to get it, we get a text “Eagles are losing let’s go for dinner early”. Woot! Never did go pick up the LE card…..

Walked to the Wynn for Dinner. Poor Wynncore! They have no real side entrance, it was a ghost town. LV Blvd was closed, no one was coming in. There were a handful of die hard Wynn folks hanging around, but lines were non-existent. Walked straight up to the buffet cashier with no wait at all, presented our screenshots for the 2x 2 free buffets from their app. Paid $0, Saved $210. Oh My Fancy…. Too fancy for us. I have a food intolerance to all forms of onion (chives, scallions, leeks, shallots). I never have a problem removing a garnish, or finding food choices, but oh was the Wynn fancy. I stuck with my go-to safe foods. Caesar salad and carved turkey (minus the spice rubbed skin). We were leaving Wynn to see Mat Franco - I didn’t want to be sick.

Everyone found something to eat, but overall same feeling as I had. So fancy. Duck, Frogs Legs, Lamb. I really enjoyed breakfast better. If we do Vegas again soon and we probably will, I’ll use my Wynn app points for rooms or breakfast only. As we were enjoying desserts and hot beverages our waiter disappears. I like to hand tips to the person I’m tipping - not a fan of leaving it on the table in a casino. Finally he pops back up muttering something about “head of security” ah-ha. A group of 5 men and a woman show up and are placed right next to our table and the waiter is falling all over them. A quick Linked-In search for “wynn head of security” leads us to a headshot of Steve Savage. I should have been able to figure out which one was Mr. Savage by his appearance alone. One lone man wearing blue jeans surrounded by 5 suits. lol. He seemed cool and down to earth!

Heading from the buffet around the walkway towards the strip we just so happened to come across a pair of curved escalators. I have no idea where they actually went? A restaurant? For the record all 4 of us were completely 100% sober, but CURVED escalators! **MIND**BLOWN** I said to hubby “Lets go down one side and back up the other”. I got evil side eye, he has no sense of spontaneity. My SIL says “I’ll go” and that my friends is the story of my first ever ride on a pair of curved escalators - while both of our husbands looked down from above at us like we were crazy (we probably are)

Walked from Wynn back to LINQ and up to the Mat Franco theater!!! Best part of the week. I still can’t believe we scored free diamond-benefit tickets to Mat Franco! Paid $0. Saved $430. We were seated in the middle of 3 well defined sections in high top bar-style chairs. I quick snapped a picture of the basically empty theater when the usher comes back and says “Oh, I forgot to ask you all, please no photography”. I told her I would delete the pic and she says “It’s okay before the show, but no cameras during the performance”. So here is my one and only, usher approved photo of the empty theater - we were really close!!

Spent the remainder of the night after the show back at Harrahs. Told my husband “whatever we do, don’t let me play anymore Lighting Link or Buffalo this trip”. So an hour later when I was playing Buffalo….haha…. I hit my first bonus free spins on buffalo of the WHOLE TRIP. Betting $1.50. Retriggered 3 times and ended the bonus round with $1.15 I kid you not. I didn’t win my bet back! This is all hubby’s fault lol…. Put my jinxed card away, gave him my cash and watched him churn points all night on $150 - ALL NIGHT, up, down, up, down. Ended up losing Sunday’s allotted bankroll around midnight - best gaming day so far, but still not even at 500 TC for the day.

Monday - Part 1 - Okay, we made it to Monday with exactly $300 in cash left out of $1,500 we brought for the week and with the exception of Sunday night we weren’t getting in any real play. Woke up way too early (finally adjusted to Pacific Time) grumpy and miserable. No one wanted breakfast before we had to leave for the Live! With Kelly & Ryan taping. I threw 4 breakfast bars in my purse, we grabbed Starbucks in the lobby and we were off to Paris. The guys were being miserable. Usually hubby’s sister and I go to NYC to tapings alone. They’re begging to get out of it, but her 1IOTA app will ‘ding’ her credibility if she changes or cancels the tickets day of. WE ARE GOING!

Arrived at 7:30 am for the 9:30 taping as requested, wearing solid colored tops, neutral bottoms and no white as requested. Apparently we were the only ones who got that memo - dress wrong in NYC and they’ll kick you out. But in Vegas… anything goes. **insert husband ‘why did you make me wear this comment' here**. When we arrived there were maybe 60 people ahead of us in the “priority” line. We are repeat 1IOTA fans. We get special 1IOTA fan colored priority wristbands and then we wait. No instructions, no directions, no one warming the audience up. They had us in long lines in a ballroom holding area. This is not normal for a live taping, we are used to much stricter and rigid protocols. Heck the Rachel Ray show judged us on our looks and graded the audience A,B, C.

It was almost 9:15 by the time we started moving. For a 9:30 taping?!? They took the far side of the room out first. Ut Oh. Are we in the wrong line? We grabbed an employee “is this the right line for priority?” YES. They are filling the auditorium from back to front. Okay whew. We want a chance at some gifts - priority area is usually where they give away gifts. Someone on the staff didn’t get the back to front memo... We were the second row from the top of the Paris Theater. **Insert hubby ‘I told you so’ and ‘we skipped breakfast for this’ comments here**. By the time we were even seated they were done warming the audience up and giving away stuff, we barely made our seats by the time they were calling for quiet.

It was a good show overall. The specks on the stage were probably Kelly and Ryan lol. Oh well, at least my sister in law and I will get to keep our NYC trips girls only without too much fussing - the guys do NOT ever want to go again. Guest stars were Shania Twain & La Reve. We were told Criss Angel was supposed to appear, but La Reve took his place at the last minute.

We were done with the taping around 11:00 and we were starving. I had 2x 2 free brunch buffets from MyVegas at Aria - required a 1 night minimum stay at an MGM property. Hubby had a bounce back offer from MGM from May. Chose Park MGM for our one night comp stay. Offer came with $50 F&B and $40 FreePlay. He booked it himself and didn’t add me to the reservation ahead of time. So we left Paris, drove to Park MGM, and with the help of a roaming employee with an iPad we had my name added to the reservation, checked in, went upstairs and dropped off some stuff in the room, got some quick pictures and then walked over to Aria for Brunch. Paid $0, saved $124. While they were waiting for me at the players desk hubby and his sister spotted a brand new $1 five line machine something about crazy times and decided they would do a mini slot pull. They each put in $20 for a total of $40, 8 spins later they cashed out $80. Yay he doubled his money while I was in line lol, maybe its not my card that is jinxed?!?! Maybe it's ME

After breakfast we split from the in-laws. Brother in Law wanted to go back to the Hershey store that we hit without him a week ago. We stayed around and redeemed $25 MyKonomi FreePlay at Aria each. Played it through on $1 Pinball - $1 at a time. Hit the pinball symbol once or twice and walked away with $40 out of $50

Thanks for writing about not having to pay sales tax when paying 100% with comps. I had forgotten about that. I'll definitely remember in January when we use our $100 celebration dinner voucher at Bacchanal....will use RC for the balance of the bill.

There are more circular escalators in the forum shops at Caesars. I think they span 3 or 4 levels...they're neat, and I definitely spent a few minutes staring at them the first time I came across them. They're at the very end of the forum shops, farthest from the casino. I think there's a strip entrance right by it.

    Monday - Park MGM

Room 14111 at Park MGM. Interesting Retrofit, Not sure I would want this room for any length of time. The bathroom door is the same sliding style shared closet/bathroom door that Harrah’s has. The whole room had a turn of the century “electricity is a new concept” feel with exposed wiring, and more modern subway tile shower surround. BRIGHT RED. Everything about the room just seemed a little off. The couch was a canvas like material that looked dusty on the top. It’s the type of fabric that can’t really be cleaned easily.

There were what looked like water stains in the carpet by the elevators and the whole floor smelled like they were still doing construction - paint or wallpaper glue? Funky smell in the hallway couldn’t be smelled from inside the room.

If the cashier at Flamingo didn't mention it I wouldn't have thought about it. She saved us at least $30 total. We were trying to keep at least $40 worth of comps to use in Atlantic City. Their Laurel Lounges are $10 comp pp for the diamond matched players and they're so much nicer than the Vegas Lounges.

Ha, Kind of glad we didn't make it into the Caesars shops this trip. I'm still getting teased for acting like a kid at Wynn... I also wanted to ride the clear glass elevators at Cosmo by the Chandelier but was outvoted. It's the little quirks that turn random trip moments into fun memories....

I agree with this sentiment. Why not do something that takes all of a minute and will provide enjoyment?

Great report so far! You do Vegas like we do! And at least with tax forgiven (great plus btw, and it isn't always done with CET properties!), you can partly use RCs and only the remaining balance will be taxed.

Monday - Part 2 & Early Morning Flight - Sister and Brother in Law wanted to hit up Coke & M&M store, we’ve weren’t feeling it. Hung around Park MGM, checked out Eataly (so cool, wish I had more spending money to bring things home!!) Tried to play our $40 Freeplay, nothing on the card… headed to the front desk - waited in line, Freeplay & FB are on the folio, but no longer directly added to the card. You need to go to the mLife desk, show ID and have it added. Okay! Now we’re all set.

Walked around playing game after game hitting small bonuses, growing the ticket pretty well. Just about ready to call it quits and keep the small win when I saw a bank of games near “Best Friend” Restaurant that said “95% Payback”. All our favorite games too. - Stinkin Rich, Davinci Diamonds, Texas Tea, Cats. Told hubby we just had to try $20 in there before we were done for the whole trip.

$20 in Texas Tea - holding our own, up and down, waitress came around, hubby orders a drink. And we’re waiting, and waiting and waiting. He hit an oil bonus, now we’re up to like $60. Waiting and waiting. Moved to Stinkin Rich….First few spins on Stinkin Rich, boom 20 free spins. First spin of the 20 spins - 3 columns of wilds - $533! Ended up with a total somewhere near $650.

Nice, ready to be done playing, still no waitress. Also just got a text from Sister and Brother in Law - where are we, they are ready to meet back up. Hmm…. Okay. Lets throw $20 into Davinci Diamonds and play $0.20 while we wait for family and drink. Halfway into the $20 we hit a bonus - won almost $35 on a $0.20 bet. And the bonus took FOREVER, it kept retriggering. Family showed up in the middle of the bonus and watched the end with us. Still no waitress. As soon as Davinici was over we scrapped it and left. We were playing at least 90 minutes if not longer (and we tipped her when we ordered) Oh Well.

Off to Bellagio for BOGO Dinner buffet. Surprisingly long line for a Monday night - no one in the gold line. Felt slightly horrible as we walked past lots of grumpy onlookers. Employee at the front of the priority line checked our cards and let us right up to pay. 2 MyVegas BOGO’s. $25 in comp money and charged the balance $63+tax to the room - we had a $50 F/B credit. Paid $18 total for all 4 of us for Dinner. Saved $172.

We had planned on walking across the street after dinner, seeing the fountains from the ground with Brother in Law who missed them, and then taking the Eiffel Tower ride at Paris up and seeing the view from the top. Well so much for plans…. Hubby stands up from dinner, drops his napkin, bends over to pick it up and **RIP**. Don’t ask me how…. He crouched down in such a way that his pocket from his pants caught on the corner of the table and ripped from the pocket all the way down the side of his shorts - only saving grace was his belt!

Change of plans…. We’re heading back to Harrahs (haha). Gave poor hubby my hoodie to wrap around his waist, we drove back to Harrahs and the in laws walked back and did the fountains and Eiffel Tower solo.

Pictures of the gorgeous view from the top of the Belliago parking garage - Eiffel Tower was lit like the French Flag!

Woke up SUPER EARLY on Tuesday to catch our 6:30 flight home. Finally after all of these trips we drove past the Welcome to Vegas sign and at 4 am there was no line and we FINALLY stopped lol.

    **BREAKING NEWS**
Someone made money waiting for the waitress!

pro tip: along the way on a run like that, just send hubby to the bar and tip him good later. ;)
but also a perfect illustration that if everything didn't go just so, you wouldn't have hit those buttons at the perfect millisecond.

way to go closing the trip out!

I would love to see some gamblers math calculations on what you saved/got free.
I think you set a very high bar on maxing a low roll trip.

I really can't believe how much ground some of these recent TRs cover, makes me tired just reading them

This is truth. Any time I tend to wait for the waitress, I tend to lose my ass. It's all luck, but I am definitely on the negative side of it when waiting.

And 95% return on classic IGT penny slots at Park MGM??? I'm in!!! I'll just play VP at the bar first to get an Elysian Space Dust beer. Waitress probably couldn't get that for me anyway...

And yes I like the French colors on the eiffel tower now. We noticed that in September iirc.

Great read! The escalators in Wynn go down to the Parasol Down part of Parasol Up/Parasol Down and Lakeside and I think the steakhouse is down there, too. If you'd gone to Parasol you could've gotten the VMB-approved Sinatra Smash

I admire the attention to detail and planning in this trip!

I’m definitely a low roller but I don’t play the Wynn/My Vegas games.

If we would have found that bank of 10 earlier in the week we probably would have gambled there exclusively

WOW ! Great trip report. As someone said above, you really set a high bar for maximizing a low roller trip.

I purposely don't order drinks lately because the minute they take my order my play tanks. I try not be superstitious but it happens so often I can't help but not be.

Love reading your report. I love frugality.

This was a great trip report. I also have matched Diamond status and it's great to see how much can be squeezed out of it for maximum value.

You definitely made the right move using the RC sales tax "bonus", even if that put you below the reward balance you wanted to keep. For your January AC trip, have you considered purchasing Wyndham points to top off your RC? Wyndham is running a 40% bonus promo so the math works out well for a transfer -- just be mindful of the 10,000 point Wyndham -> CET minimum.
