Since 2007 under Nick Saban, Alabama has missed 101 field goals, the most of any FBS team. The director of Westgate’s sportsbook said the Alabama loss was “very good for us”.

So funny that Saban comes out and blames the officiating for the loss. Not the missed field goal, or 13 penalties, or being tricked on that last punt play when Auburn moved the punter to receiver, and the QB was still in the game and Alabama's coaches didn't notice until it was too late and they got caught doing late substitutions. Great play by Auburn to pull that out knowing that Alabama would most likely get caught with a substitution penalty....................

Nick has a point—perhaps a few, but when other coaches make points about games they play vs Alabama he just shrugs them off so I guess turning the tables is somewhat fair play.

I am FAR from being a Nick Saban fan and very happy they lost AGAIN.

As to the field goal thing.. maybe they have more chances, which would mean more failures at it? No idea.. just a comment.

    FROM ESPN STATS:
Since Nick Saban's first season at Alabama in 2007, Alabama kickers have now missed 101 field goals, the most by any FBS team in that span. That's 8 more than any other team

Either way, say goodbye to playoffs this year.

Certain coaches should never complain about refs with Saban and Belichick being the top of that list. It's a horrible look.

Truly one of life's simple pleasures. A Nick Saban loss for the holidays. :santa:

Made the committee’s job easier. Alabama is not as much of a known commodity without Tua. I hope he recovers and we see him back on the football field. The replacement seems solid; I doubt Alabama disappears from the scene.

The end of the half was a mess. I guess Saban has the right to be upset, but you have to play on. Sometimes you have to beat the other team and a bad call, too. Just part of the game...no one did it on purpose.

Why do they bother coaches during the game? Just go to your halftime show, They rarely say anything that makes news and they can’t really say what they want...

My friend said that it was fate, and justice. Saban is usually the one who doesn't make mistakes so that 4th down Auburn play was kind of justice for all the times Saban pulled stunts like that.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens next year. Will Tua stay? Will he turn pro? If he turns pro he will have to prove to everyone that he is healthy. He seems to be getting hurt regularly so his durability comes into question. If he returns to bama? Other than proving to everyone that he is fine he has more to lose, he could get hurt again and then his draft stocks will really tank.

Word out is that bama already has (tentatively) signed one of the top HS qb's so they have a good future at that position. Heard that from the Hawaii grape vine, and that's why we keep hearing that Tua's brother is looking to transfer elsewhere. He isn't being looked at as the successor to Tua.

But to me bama's 2019 national title season came to a close when Tua went down.

3 straight showcase games now where that defense, full of high draft picks, gets torched.

For me, it was when they lost at home to another undefeated team in their division with Tua. I dont care how "quality" a loss it was. With so many conferences and only 4 teams in the playoffs, no team that not only isnt champion of their respective conference, but doesnt even win their division, has no business in a 4 team national championship playoff under most circumstances. If they're going to keep giving Bama (or anyone) a free pass in to the playoffs while dismissing undefeated teams and or conference champions with same or better record, they might as well just go back to voting on a champion.

I think (based on nothing but transparency) if you are a team that may go undefeated over the course of a season and have no chance whatsoever to be in the final 4, just say so up front. Not sure when it went out of usefulness but does anyone celebrate top 25 unless also top 4? WE’RE #13!! WE’RE #22!! How bout you??
32 bowls need 64 teams. 12 bowls need 24 teams. WE’RE #42!!! How about you??
    The drama is killing me—-:woot::popcorn:
