Brunch at MAG was great. We had a table on the patio dead center facing the fountains. It was chilly but the heaters worked well.

So much to report. An amazing day and my crew just left for the airport. Yes, it is 4 am. During the little time I have had to play today I have been doing well.

Was just dealt four 4s again.

And yep, my voice is almost completely shot. Lol.

Funny story about that.... In my family, the tradition was that we'd pass around the bowl of whipped cream and most of us would drop a spoonful on the pie AND a dollop into our coffee. So, at my first Thanksgiving with DH's family, with about 20 people at the table, when the bowl of whipped cream came around, I put some on my pie, then scooped another spoonful -- and as I was about to drop it into my coffee, my mother-in-law shrieked -- the entire table froze, including me with the spoon poised above my coffee -- and then, looking at me, she screamed, "WHAT are you doing?" I was so mortified, everybody turned to look at me and I could feel myself turning red, and I just mumbled that I was going to add some whipped cream to my coffee, but I guess not. I passed along the bowl without my "mit Schlag," and never thought of doing that again at DH's family gatherings. (That story became a classic with my family, though.) It also kind of freaked me out at the time that she was watching me that closely with so many people at the table, something that never changed, as it turned out.

 

Btw I’ll be at mag in a couple of weeks and will try the whip cream in coffee thing in honor of this thread.

 

I almost always take my coffee black, but the next time I encounter this type of cream when I'm having coffee I will do the exact same thing in honour of @serenasea 's anecdote.

Can't believe someone would go as far as to shriek over that. What an overreaction. I sure hope she apologized to you for doing that.

 

Trust me, I wouldn’t steer you wrong! I have even asked for some for my coffee when I don’t order something that it would normally come with, I’m not sure if I’ve ever been charged for it!
