The entire Boeing 747 Max issues has really messed with our non-stop flight times from Vegas back to Milwaukee. We are leaving on a 6:30 AM flight. It was either that or 6:30 PM and get back after midnight.

Anything open for food and an alcoholic drink at McCarran at 5 AM? Most likely terminal C.

Food yes, but all the ones open at 5am or earlier, I wouldn't expect to offer alcohol.

If you click on dining and the restaurant name it will list the hours. All the places that I would expect to serve alcohol don't open until 6 though.

The standalone bars generally don't open until closer to 8am. I think most places that are open early and have full-service food offerings will also serve alcohol (it's not like NYC where there are local regulations restricting alcohol sales, after all), it just depends on when they open up. I rarely fly out of the C-gates, but over at the D-gates, Sammy's opens around 4am and I've definitely had drinks there at very early hours. Unfortunately, it looks like Tring is right and the C-gate outlets at that hour are all quick-service which probably won't sell alcohol, though you might be able to get a beer from the refrigerated section. The full-service restaurants open a little later.

I flew out of C on a 5:45 am flight earlier this month and don't believe any food places were open!

Solution: grab an “airplane bottle” of your liquor of choice from the gift shop. Get it past security no problem because it’s under 100 ml. Go to McDonalds or equivalent, order breakfast and a small soft drink/juice/coffee, and mix your liquor into it. Rum and coke, vodka soda, screwdriver, Irish coffee, it’s all doable.

You can also get small medicine bottles from Amazon. There are ways around it, for sure. But if you're looking for something you can buy directly from an airport outlet, options are going to be limited.

.....on second thought, buy two, they're small. A couple Bailey's for your coffee?

Not sure about the C gates, but we have flown out of the A gates early (6 a.m) and at that time the Burger King (now Shake Shack??) was open.

Most of my return flights are between 5am-7am.
Food yes, some places always open.
    Drink? Probably not so early.

I got that same problem with flying out of MKE to LAS. Next flight flying out of MDW, the southwest times work better for me

Just to clarify. It's not that I need a drink that early in the morning, it's just that I like one before I fly. It relaxes me before the flight. From the posts, I'll just wait to get one on the plane.

We usually fly Southwest, but still take the tram over the to D gates for food and drink. Even with an early flight. Only takes a few minutes each way.

Hey Joe, I've never seen you without a countdown timer. It's almost like you're showing up here half dressed or something! ;)

Push right on thru and pull an all-nighter down at the Boar's Head Bar and head straight to the airport...you'll be plenty relaxed by the time you choose your seat.
