Seems a few jackpots have been hit at LAS as I recall.

I have never understood people who allow their photo to be taken after winning a jackpot. If I won a bunch of money and was going to wandering the streets of Las Vegas or Ohio, I don't want anyway to know my face.

    Totally get that!

Many casinos post winners pictures online all the time - even at $1500 winnings. I would never, EVER allow that.

As we all know, getting a couple of W2G's does not mean you left the casino with more money than you arrived with. But everyone things a $1500 jackpot somehow makes you rich.

I hope he was on his way home! That kind of windfall could be dangerous just starting a trip!

The floodgates have burst open. This poor individual will be overwhelmed with "friends" and "relatives" he never knew he had or existed.

Not to mention investment professionals that require he call them asap.

Not jealous (well, a little) but very happy for him. Anonymity would have been a better alternative. I know I would have been very adamant about that.

He's got shitty friends/relatives if that happens. It's only $317k before taxes.

Not sure they’d get that many people out the woodwork, it’s not like it’s trailer park town where he’s from.

It’s probably life changing for him, but more in the quality of life and making yourself comfortable, paying off a house (in Columbus) and getting a new car and a nice holiday rather than retiring. Amazing improvement to your life at that age, but it’s just a leg up really. Heck it’d only cover a 4 year degree.

Gotta remember that you can get $200k a year as a first year associate lawyer in New York. Money’s not what it used to be :)

Me on the other hand, I’m going to win the $5 Progressive WoF

To me that's a lot of money, even after taxes. I'm sure he'll use it wisely. But what the hell, use some of it to fund future Vegas trips!

I made the mistake one time, and never again. It was the largest jackpot my local had ever paid out. They used the picture to plaster me around a column at the entrance. A lot of my customers frequent the place, and it bred a lot of animosity towards me.

After taxes I could pay off half my mortgage. My living expenses along with my parents' board & care (Alzheimer's and dementia) and my wife's health care that isn't paid by insurance, costs me $150k/year.
